Arnold Barboza Jr faces Kenneth Sims Jr; Gabriela Fundora, Oscar Collazo on undercard

Arnold Barboza Jr is moving up to 147, and Gabriela Fundora and Oscar Collazo will be back next month.

Arnold Barboza Jr and Kenneth Sims Jr will both move up to the welterweight division in a 12-round main event from Anaheim on Saturday, March 14, live on DAZN.

The Golden Boy-promoted card will also feature world title defenses from Gabriela Fundora and Oscar Collazo.

The 34-year-old Barboza (32-1, 11 KO) is coming off of his first loss, a clear decision in a WBO super lightweight title challenge against Teofimo Lopez in May 2025. Now moving to 147 lbs, he’ll look to quickly get back on track, and will have home field advantage in Southern California against Chicago’s Sims (22-3-1, 8 KO), a 32-year-old also coming off of a loss at 140, against Oscar Duarte last August.

Sims has fought at 147 in the past. Barboza has, too, but those fights were early in his career, before he got serious and stuck at 140.

Unified WBA and WBO minimumweight champ Collazo (13-0, 10 KO) will take on Jesus Haro (13-3, 2 KO) in a Puerto Rico vs Mexico matchup. It will be Collazo’s first fight of 2026.

It will also be a first time out this year for undisputed flyweight champion Fundora (17-0, 9 KO) will face WBA interim titlist Viviana Ruiz (10-2, 5 KO), a 43-year-old Venezuelan who lives and fights out of Australia. On paper, it is not a serious challenge for Fundora, but it does keep her active.

Alexis Rocha and Joseph Diaz Jr. will meet in a welterweight fight on March 14 in Anaheim on the undercard of Barboza-Sims, sources tell @ringmagazine. Roach is The Ring’s No. 6 welterweight. Diaz, a former champ, is coming off a close decision loss to Regis Prograis in a slugfest.

Rocha’s planned rematch with Raul Curiel was scrapped in January when was his hospitalized during his weight cut.

Arnold Barboza eager to test welterweight power vs. Kenneth Sims

Arnold Barboza Jr. needed a fresh start, and new targets.

So immediately after his unanimous decision defeat to Teofimo Lopez on The Ring’s Times Square show last year, he took some time off to get his mind right. After some thought, he believed the next best thing for his career would be to move up in weight.

The 34-year-old will leave 140 behind and make his welterweight debut on March 14 at Honda Center in Anaheim, California against Kenneth Sims.

Although not exactly known for his power, the former WBO interim champion believes that may change now he's campaigning at a more comfortable weight.

“The extra seven pounds feels good,” Barboza told The Ring. “I’m able to eat whatever I want. My power should be even better, I can’t wait to test it out.”

Before opting for a change in divisional scenery, Barboza (32-1, 11 KOs) did some self-reflection. Suffering a wide defeat by Lopez on a career-best stage was humbling, though he insists the experience wasn't all bad.

“I learned a lot in that fight,” Barboza said. “I didn’t perform the way I wanted that night, much respect to Teofimo but I know I’m on the elite level.”

Barboza is now giving Sims (22-3-1, 8 KOs) his undivided attention, and for good reason. Prior to the defeat he suffered against Oscar Duarte in August, the Chicago native was on a nine-fight winning streak.

Barboza reveres his upcoming opponent but doesn't fancy allowing him to rebound back in the win column at his expense.

“Sims is a great fighter,” Barboza continued. “He’s really well-rounded and doesn’t have many weaknesses. I expect a tough and good fight, but also expect to win.”

Arnold Barboza.-Kenneth Sims Nearly Finalized For March 14

Kenneth Sims and Arnold Barboza are ready to bounce back, but in a new weight class.

The Ring has been informed that, after a prolonged period of negotiations, a deal has been struck for them to fight. Barboza (32-1, 11 KOs) and Sims (22-3-1, 8 KOs) will likely meet on a Golden Boy Promotions card March 14 at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

For both men, their long winning streaks came to an end in their last appearances.

In the case of Sims (22-3-1, 8 KOs), he saw his nine-fight winning streak end at the hands of Oscar Duarte on August 2.

Sims, 32, fought hard in front of his hometown fans at the University of Illinois-Chicago. However, the relentless pressure of Mexico’s Duarte (30-2-1, 23 KOs), along with his combination punching, led to a majority-decision defeat.

The winning streak of Barboza, The Ring’s sixth-ranked junior welterweight, was even more impressive. The 34-year-old Barboza began his career 32-0 and captured the WBO interim junior welterweight title before losing a 12-round unanimous decision to former Ring/WBO champ Teofimo Lopez on The Ring’s card May at Times Square in New York.

Fighting at welterweight is something Barboza spoke openly about after his loss to Lopez (22-2, 13 KOs). The South El Monte, California native will now make the jump against Sims, who has fluctuated between taking fights at both junior welterweight and welterweight over the last few years.

Alexis Rocha vs. JoJo Diaz added to Golden Boy’s March 14 show

Several undercard bouts have been announced for Golden Boy Promotions’ upcoming show on March 14 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Two of those newly announced bouts will be part of DAZN’s main broadcast: Alexis Rocha vs. Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jnr, and Joel Iriarte vs. Rock Myrthil.

The card will be headlined by a welterweight fight between Arnold Barboza and Kenneth Sims Jnr, and will also include two title matches. In one, unified strawweight champion Oscar Collazo will defend against Jesus Haro. In the other, undisputed flyweight champion Gabriela Fundora will face Viviana Ruiz Corredor.

Rocha, 25-2-1 (16 KOs), was supposed to have a rematch with fellow welterweight contender Raul Curiel in January but pulled out due to issues with cutting weight. The 28-year-old Rocha’s last fight was the first collision with Curiel, a draw in December 2024.

Diaz, 34-8-1 (15 KOs), has seemed shopworn at just 33 years old. He has lost four of his last five appearances, including three in a row in fights where he came in just shy of 138lbs. Those defeats were a split decision to the 24-5 Jesus Antonio Perez Campos; a ninth-round stoppage against Oscar Duarte; and a split decision to the 22-6-1 Abraham Montoya.

Diaz then rebounded with an eight-round win last June over a 6-4-1 foe before losing a unanimous decision to Regis Prograis at about 142lbs in August.

Rocha vs. Diaz is scheduled for 10 rounds at welterweight.

Iriarte, 9-0 (8 KOs), is a 22-year-old welterweight prospect who has been developing on Golden Boy’s shows. His last win came against the 8-4 Eduardo Hernandez Trejo in September.

Myrthil is 17-2-1 (13 KOs) and has not won a fight since February 2020. He was knocked out by the 9-2 Kevin Johnson in 2021, suffered the same fate against Sims in 2022, and fought to a draw with a 9-5 foe in his last bout, in August 2023.

Iriarte vs. Myrthil is scheduled for eight rounds.

A preliminary undercard streaming on Golden Boy’s YouTube channel will feature:

-Grant Flores, 12-0 (9 KOs), against an opponent still to be announced in an eight-round junior middleweight bout.
-Cayden Griffiths, 7-0 (6 KOs), against an opponent still to be announced in a six-round welterweight bout.
-Dylan Capetillo against an opponent still to be announced in a four-round junior welterweight bout.
-Fabian Guzman, 9-0 (8 KOs) vs. Julian Delgado, 9-1 (4 KOs), in an eight-round middleweight bout.
-Daniel Garcia, 12-0 (9 KOs), vs. Blas Caro, 12-9 (5 KOs), in an eight-round lightweight bout.
-Leonardo Sanchez, 9-0 (7 KOs), against an opponent still to be announced in a six-round junior lightweight bout.

Oscar Collazo: ‘We do this for money, legacy don’t pay the bills’

Puerto Rico is on a roll. With René Santiago being crowned the WBA and WBO titleholder at junior flyweight in December, and Xander Zayas doing the same at junior middleweight in January, the island is enjoying a hot streak in its beloved noble art. On March 14, their third unified champion, Oscar Collazo, will have the chance to keep this upward trajectory intact when he defends his own WBA and WBO strawweight titles against Jesus Haro.

“I know he's gonna be hungry, like every challenger, to be world champion,” Collazo tells Boxing Scene. “And I know he’s gonna put up a fight. He's a counter boxer. He's always fighting on the back foot. That's what we like. We like to apply pressure on these type of fighters and just show them who's the big dog.”

Haro, however, was not the expected opponent for this date. Collazo had been hoping to rematch Melvin Jerusalem, current holder of the division’s WBC title, yet the fallout from Golden Boy Promotions’ legal wranglings with Vergil Ortiz Jnr have led to that unification fight being put on hold.

“We wanted a certain type of money, but we didn't get it,” explains Collazo. “We was gonna fight over here in Puerto Rico, and the fight was going over to L.A. So, it changed. Everything changed. I was gonna be a headliner, it changed, but at least they gave us the opportunity to fight, and give us the money that I deserve. That's how I see it. At the end of the day, it's a job for us, and we do this for the money. Legacy is good, but legacy don't pay the bills. It’s real talk, you know? And that's how I see it.

“At least I'm staying active. It's very important to a champion to stay active and stay on the line. Changing your opponent at the last minute is not that much to me. He's a right-handed fighter. He goes back, just like [Melvin] Jerusalem was going to be. He's not a power-puncher. So, we know what we’ve gotta do. We’ve seen him fight already, so he's not a new person to us. So, that's why my main focus is just staying in the ring and doing my work. And I am very ready in this camp. I feel very good. Another fighter is going to just put me on alert.”

Fresh off the disappointment of the Collazo fight falling through, WBC beltholder Melvin Jerusalem is already scheduled to rematch South Africa’s Siyakholwa Kuse on May 16, while IBF titlist Pedro Taduran will face Gustavo Perez on April 3. With all three titleholders determined to remain active, the Puerto Rican southpaw’s plans to unify the weight class appear undimmed.

“Either with Jerusalem or Taduran, whoever wins those fights – because both of them are fighting and I don't disregard fighting them – whoever wins those fights, I'm calling them out, because it's a fight that’s got to happen. What I want is to be the first undisputed champion for the minimumweight and be the first male to do it as a Puerto Rican. If I want people to notice me here in the minimumweight, I gotta achieve that,” Collazo said.

“I want to be in the pound-for-pound [lists] for this 2026 by unifying and getting all the belts as undisputed. I believe doing that is gonna catapult me into at least top-five pound-for-pound, and the world is gonna recognize me. Puerto Rican boxing is going through a very big momentum. A lot of boxers are trying to unify and doing big fights, and we’ve got three unified fighters. It's a big moment for Puerto Rican boxing. And I know a lot of people didn't know at all the history of boxing in Puerto Rico now. And now they know.”

Much of Collazo’s meteoric rise as a professional is owed to a stellar grounding in the amateurs, winning five national championships, bronze at the 2017 Pan-American Championships, and gold at the 2019 Pan-American Games. It was here that he met his trainer and manager, Juan De León, who matched him with tough opposition from the very start. Though results have thus far been perfect, the undefeated Collazo feels he’s only at the start.

“In the 13 fights, a lot of people say that I went rapid. I had a big success in amateur boxing, but 13 fights, I did it. I had a lot. I got hurt, I went to big fights. Champion in my seventh fight, unified in my 11th, I'm going into my seventh title defense. I've been doing a lot with so little [time in] professional boxing, and I believe I got a lot to learn. A lot of people see only the 13 fights, but they don't see what fight I’ve been through and all the hard work that I got through.”

There’s little doubt, however, that plying his trade in the smallest weight class in men’s boxing comes with drawbacks. It’s a reality that has left the unified titleholder feeling frustrated at times, but it’s a challenge he meets head-on outside of the ring, attempting to promote not just himself but also the weight class itself.

“A lot of people don't give 105lbs a lot of recognition because it’s a lower weight class, but we do the same as the heavyweights, as 147lbs, as the 140lbs fighters. We work as hard as them. Why can't we get that recognition the way they got it? That's why I believe that I got to work extra hard, either via social media, either in the fights, either in the press conference, doing things differently for them to notice me. And I believe that we need help from the media, from the different parts of the world to make people’s mind change about the minimumweight.”

Arnold Barboza’s main event status was earned, not given

Arnold Barboza Jnr has gone from the hunter to the hunted.

Barboza will face Kenneth Sims Jnr in a 12-round welterweight main event on Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Barboza, 32-1 (11 KOs), spent years looking for big fights. Whether it was Teofimo Lopez, whom he lost to last May, or Jose Ramirez, whom he beat in 2024. Barboza couldn’t seem to catch a break. Now, after defeating Jack Catterall last year to win the interim WBO junior welterweight title and a high-profile bout against Lopez, Barboza has become a name others call out or want to face. Sims’ callout predates Barboza’s recent notoriety.

“I know he has wanted this fight for a long time,” Barboza told Boxing Scene. “Now he has his opportunity.”

The callout dates back to Barboza’s days at Top Rank. Sims scored a marquee upset win over at-the-time unbeaten Top Rank prospect Elvis Rodriguez in 2021. Sims was calling for a fight with Barboza before that bout.

Sims, now 32, saw a winning streak that dated back to 2019 snapped when he lost a majority decision to Oscar Duarte at junior welterweight last August. The bout took place in Sims’ hometown of Chicago, though he trains in Las Vegas.

“It gives me extra motivation, because I know how that feels,” Barboza said. “I can’t let this opportunity slip from my hands.”

The move to welterweight isn’t inherently new for either. Sims had multiple developmental fights at welterweight. Barboza, a 34-year-old from Los Angeles, has also fought at the weight as well.

“People don’t understand that [for] my pro debut, I fought at 147lbs,” Barboza added. “It has been 11 or 12 years since I did that, and it was time to move up [from junior welterweight].”

The bout features two blue-collar fighters who had to earn their places in the sport. Barboza fought his way through the club scene, selling tickets to get to the major promoters, only to have a prolonged path to the main events and title fights. Sims took two surprising losses early in his career but has since rebounded.

“I think it is going to be a competitive fight,” Barboza said. “Kenny Sims is a very well-rounded fighter.”

When asked to reflect on going from looking for big nights against other fighters to becoming the first name on the poster, Barboza was quick to respond.

“We worked hard to put ourselves in this position,” he said. “Everything was earned, nothing was given. We still look at ourselves as the underdogs.”

Arnold Barboza Jnr, JoJo Diaz, Alexis Rocha honored to share SoCal stage

The surroundings for Saturday’s DAZN show provided a surreal feeling for three participants who came up together on the greater Los Angeles boxing scene.

Arnold Barboza Jnr is tasked with anchoring one of Golden Boy Promotions’ strongest cards in recent memory, as he’s set to face Kenneth Sims Jnr in a pivotal bout for both fighters. Their meeting takes place at welterweight, though their careers ran parallel as they rose to become top contenders at 140lbs.

The timing of their matchup allowed L.A.’s Barboza, 32-1 (11 KOs), to share the stage with Alexis Rocha and Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, who happen to be facing each other on the undercard.

Both bouts will air live as part of a loaded four-fight lineup Saturday from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The show also includes two genuine championship contests featuring lineal and unified 105lbs king Oscar Collazo and reigning undisputed 112lbs queen Gabriela Fundora.

“I want to give a big shoutout to Golden Boy,” Barboza said while admiring the lineup on stage during Thursday’s press conference at Hotel Fera in Orange, California. “This card is stacked from top to bottom. I’m on the card with Puerto Rico’s best fighter [Collazo]. My favorite female fighter, hands down, is Fundora. That’s an honor for me.

“Rocha, the undercard – one person I gotta give a shout-out to, my hometown guy JoJo Diaz. I’m proud of you. Everything we’ve been through together. Who knew when we were eight years old, playing jets and running amok around South El Monte Boxing Gym that we’d be on this card together?”

Much has been made of Diaz’s personal comeback outside the ring. A former IBF 130lbs titlist who has run into legal trouble and has made many questionable lifestyle choices, Diaz has since sought the wisdom and teachings of a higher power to turn around his life.

It has yet to fully translate in the ring – Diaz, 34-8-1 (15 KOs), has just two victories in his past nine starts. However, it also comes from having faced a wide assortment of tough challenges, a common theme throughout his career.

“My beautiful kids is what completes me. My girlfriend, my daughter, my son – who I want to see again and complete my life,” said Diaz, a 33-year-old southpaw from South El Monte. “I’ve done everything in my boxing career. Now it’s a lot deeper for me. It’s spiritual for me. I give glory to God. He brought me out of a deep place. I used to live a wild lifestyle when I was making all this money with the fame and stuff.

“I gave my life to Christ, gave up the drugs and alcohol. I’m here to show that no matter how dark it gets, you can still do it as long as you have that faith.”

He is now tasked with trying to slow down the progress of Rocha, 25-2-1 (16 KOs), a 28-year-old welterweight contender from Santa Ana, California.

“I’m very happy to be fighting JoJo,” noted Rocha, who hasn’t fought since a December 2024 draw with Raul Curiel. “I’ve seen him fighting, coming up. I’ve always admired and respected him and – honestly – I always looked up to the guy. Not just what he’s accomplished, but his faith.”

Admittedly, neither fighter believed this match would ever happen.

“I always thought I would fight Ronny Rios,” noted Diaz, referring to Rocha’s older brother. “Me and Alexis are going to be fighting. He’s a good guy; I wish him nothing but the best. I’m not taking anything lightly.”

Rocha essentially had two camps for this fight. He was due to face Curiel in a rematch on January 16 but was forced to withdraw just prior to the weigh-in when his body shut down in his bid to get down to welterweight.

Now back at full health, he is tasked with facing another familiar face – though in a different scenario.

“I never pictured fighting JoJo, but it’s business,” noted Rocha. “That’s all it is. I believe this fight is definitely going to steal the show. Everything happens for a reason. I truly believe in God’s plan.”

There was a similar amount of love and respect between the main event fighters, even if they came up through different systems.

Sims, 22-3-1 (8 KOs), is a former amateur standout from Chicago’s south side and has emerged as a top – if tough-luck – contender in the pro ranks.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, he willingly accepted a showdown with Mexico’s Oscar Duarte, in lieu of a soft touch, for a long overdue homecoming last August 2 in Chicago. Sims came up just short on the cards as he dropped a majority decision in what turned out to be his last fight at junior welterweight.

His sights set on a prize at 147lbs, the 32-year-old “Bossman” was eager for the toughest showdown available – even against an opponent he vibes with outside the ring.

“I’ve wanted this fight for a while,” noted Sims. “What’s funny is, I think he’s a really cool person. Him and his pops, we were talking before all this.

“But I’m a competitor. He’s a good fighter, and I want to fight everyone. He’s been in the top 10 for years, and I want that spot. I got offered it and I took that chance. This helps my career extremely. He’s been in big moments and fought good fighters. Me going in and taking care of him in dominant fashion, it will show everyone that I belong at the top.”

Barboza was at that very doorstep just one year ago. He registered a career-best win with a 12-round split decision over Jack Catterall to claim a secondary version of the WBO 140lbs title on the road in Manchester, England. It led to his first major title fight, though he laid an egg against then-full WBO champ Teofimo Lopez Jnr last May in New York City.

Like Sims, Barboza decided the time had come to move up in weight. While on stage with his son in his lap, the 34-year-old Los Angeleno Barboza couldn’t help but admire the family man in his forthcoming foe.

“Sims is an amazing fighter. I know he’s gonna bring it, and I really can’t wait,” admitted Barboza. “Kenneth Sims is a really good dude, him and his team. What warmed my heart, seeing that promo video with his son on his shoulder. That’s what we do it for.”

Barboza believes Sims win will present in-house Garcia title shot

Arnold Barboza and Kenneth Sims will clash in a crossroads contest to headline a Golden Boy Promotions show Saturday at Honda Center in Anaheim, California, on DAZN.

Barboza (32-1, 11 KOs) and Sims (22-3, 8 KOs) are both coming off losses and are set to make their welterweight debuts, and the winner will get one step closer to being considered a suitable candidate for a title shot in a fast-evolving division.

“Sims presents a big challenge in a new weight class,” Barboza told The Ring. “This is going to be a really tough fight, but I feel like I am going to be stronger, faster, and bigger. Not a lot of people take a fighter like Sims after a loss, so I needed to take a tough fight to get in the welterweight race.”

Barboza got a taste of being a champion in February 2025 when he beat Jack Catterall for the WBO junior welterweight title. The career-best win came after Barboza beat former unified champion Jose Ramirez in November 2024.

But Barboza bit off more than he could chew when he suffered his first defeat – a one-sided unanimous decision – in the following fight against Teofimo Lopez in May. The Lopez fight was Barboza’s fifth in 16 months, and the Los Angeles native said the incredible activity proved to be too much.

“My body never got to rest, and I had a really bad weight cut for the Teo fight. I'm not in my twenties anymore," said Barboza, a 34-year-old father of four. “Beating Catterall and Ramirez outside of the country boosted my confidence a lot and showed that I belong at the top level. But taking on too many fights in a short span definitely played a role in my performance against Lopez.

"I barely had any rest between my last two fights, but I couldn't pass up on the opportunity because it wouldn't have been there again. We asked to be active. We just didn't know it was going to be this active.”

Barboza said he’s back to being 100% after a 10-month break and promised he had a solid training camp in Big Bear, California.

“I'm ready to make another run in a new division,” said Barboza. “Sims is a really good fighter, and a tremendous fighter, to be honest. He can do a lot of everything – counter, be aggressive, fight on the inside and outside. He poses a big threat. But I'm also really sharp, and I can do everything he does. I'm ready to set the pace and set the tone to handle everything he brings.

“This is a very big fight for both of us. Sims is in a similar situation, coming off a loss, and we're at the point in our careers where we need to show up to see who's going to the next level. I've been at the top before, and now I need to remind everyone.”

Barboza is coming in as a slight betting underdog against Sims but hopes a resounding win sets him up for an immediate title shot against WBC welterweight champion and Golden Boy promotional stablemate Ryan Garcia.

“Hopefully Golden Boy can make that fight happen,” said Barboza. “Ryan Garcia has big plans, but those fights he’s going after may be harder to make than ours. I'm a thousand percent ready to fight him. A lot of the other guys are tied up, so the opportunity could be right there.”

Garcia beat Mario Barrios for the WBC title last month and plans to fight again in July. Barboza could become an attractive opponent if Garcia doesn’t want to wait for a potential end-of-year showdown against division top players Devin Haney and Rolando Romero, who appear headed for a May 30 fight against each other.

Barboza said he’ll be ready for Garcia’s summer slot, especially since he’s not coming in off a grinding run.

Barboza’s vision isn’t far-fetched, either. Sims was beaten by Oscar Duarte in his last fight in August, and Duarte leveraged the competitive majority decision victory to a title fight against IBF champion Richardson Hitchins that was ultimately scrapped on fight night when Hitchins fell ill.

“The Ryan Garcia fight is definitely a possibility and one that interests me a lot,” said Barboza. “We'll see. The welterweight division is getting more stacked by the day, and I am excited to be in the mix.

“There are different decks of cards being shuffled every week, and a fight against Garcia depends on the deck that will eventually be shuffled. I have to wait and see where my opportunity will land.

“Beating someone like Sims should get me in position for a title shot and another big name. I've had to earn everything in my career; nothing was given to me. I plan on earning everything at welterweight as well.”

Interesting matchup between Barboza and Sims. I like Barboza in the matchup, but I expect a tedious, hard to score fight. Which means it could easily go either way.

Gabriela Fundora is gonna dominate of course. She's one of the best P4P Women's Boxers, and dominates her weight class.

I've never seen Oscar Collazo so that'll be interesting.

Barboza with his Puerto Rican heritage, and glossier record may be an easier sell as a Future B side which is all either one of these guys is ever gonna be.

Grant Flores coming on now, decent prospect who stands to make me a chunk of money when he wins.

Massive respect to Jo Diaz, he is a warrior but imo it's time for him to do life after boxing.

Barboza is controlling this fight pretty comfortably. It's a counter punching battle, but Barboza is getting the better of it in most rounds. They got him up 7 rounds to 1 on the broadcast. That feels about right.

Collazo looking the goods again forcing Haro to bail on his stool after 6 rounds, Collazo's pressure proving too much, he put it on Haro and was upping it every round, he was in front of Haro feinting, jabbing , the straight left and adding body shots more and more, quality stuff, you could see Haro feeling it, he was getting hurt and was throwing less , kinda surprising to see him pull out but also not that surprising

Had Barboza beating Sims 118-110, no a great watch tbh but a good performance, Barboza doesn't do anything great but he does the basics very well, great jab, 1/2s , counters well and is defensively sound, it was pretty even for first 4 rounds but Barboza pulled away and Sims didn't have any answers, he was comprehensively outboxed, can't be too hard on Barboza he made it look easy but it was pretty boring, mainly due to Sims inability to land anything other than the occasional single shots
