Dazzo Williams Lonsdale Belt for sale

Post by Old bones Ian »

Auction sale for Darren "Dazzo" Williams Lonsdale Belt with estimated price of £5000-£8000 , I'm not so sure it'll get near the top end.

Did he put it up himself due to money issues or was this from some kind of divorce/bankruptcy thing.

If i had a man gave i would think it would look good in there.

From what I've seen online it's to help his son get a deposit to buy a house

Interesting piece of boxing history. The estimate seems a bit optimistic to me as well, but you never know with collectors—items connected to Darren “Dazzo” Williams don’t come up that often. It’ll be interesting to see where the bidding ends up.

Hammer price of £5500 for belt , take sellers fees off and it'll be around £4600 in Dazzo's pocket

Used to be worth a bundle just for the gold

5k is scant for a lifetimes work and huge achievement

I remember that Bobby Vanzie got 4k for his

I used to box for the amateur club that Dazzo trained at when he was a pro, I got to know him well over the years, so whilst I am surprised he is willing to sell the prized trinket due to it being a reward and justification of sorts for the years of hard work he put in, he always seemed to have a full life outside of boxing so makes sense he is willing to part with it if it helps his family. I still haven't parted ways with my trophies yet so he seems to have moved on better post boxing than most :)
