Re: Ken Buchanan vs Livingstone Bramble
The only time people remember about Ken Buchanan was his controversial loss to the great Roberto Duran. But, people forget how good Buchanan was. He was champion in all levels of competition: National, Continental, British and World Lightweight Champion.
Buchanan has a fast jab. Beautiful to watch and was tough as nails. He had a great chin and could take a good shot. Duran hit him with some shots in the jaw and Buchanan never went down. The only fight that he lost but knockout was against Duran. But, was that a real knockout?
Buchanan was one of my favorite Duran's opponents. With those tartan shorts, and lightning speed of hands and feet. I wanted to meet him, but unfortunately, he died about 3 years ago. Scotland had a great champion. But he was very underappreciated, even in his own country. He was much more popular in New York City than in Scotland. What a fighter!

For me, most impressive thing about Buchanan was that he could fight at a fast pace for 15 rds. I think he'd take a decision from Bramble, but it would be closer than people expect. Maybe 3 pts

I have fond memories of one of the boxrec sim seasons many years ago where I got to 'manage' Ken for a season. I've always been a big fan and I agree that he is genuinely underrated.

Hi biography is very good. He put down his stamina down to underwater swimming.
