Shakur Stevenson Path ... Where is he going ?

Post by Evander »

It looks like he wants to box in multiple divisions and take some names along the way.

I suspect in 2 years time the biggest name he will have faced will still be Teofimo. Not to say he'll duck people necessarily but I think he's the kinda boxer a lot of guys will avoid.

The problem is, he isn't a financial draw so he's not going to pay bigger names that he'll likely best to face him and they certainly aren't going got choose to face him.

Gimmes
That's scheduled mentality not fan mentality.
I'd take Shakur over all of them.

The big fight for him is Tank Davis, but that could be difficult to put together for a variety of reasons.

Andre Ward meets Floyd Maywether (I don't mean style wise of course, I mean how he's perceived) has a relatively great career but leaves people relatively unmoved because he won't take real risks and he's boring to watch. He retires at 46-0 or something but it's all a little meh because there are not many Lopezes and several Zepedas on his record. somewhere between 50-100 pfp all time kind of guy, much like Ward in my view. I'd rate Floyd higher than that, but certainly not right at the top, but I digress.

But...it requires Duck Davis to fight someone with a pulse. Never gonna happen.

Tank Davis, Keyshawn Davis, Dalton Smith, Hitchins, Azim, Biyarslanov, Mercardo, Muratalla, Mason, Herrera, Schofield, Haney. All respectable.opponents if he wants them. He'd be favourite over most but they're better opponents than most others are facing at the moment. The most high profile fights would obviously be Tank and Haney.

I'm guessing it's going to be a long drawn out effort to make Tank v Shakur come to pass

It's been over 10 years and they haven't gotten Tank to take on a fighter he'd be the underdog against yet.
