I gotta tell you. Looking at the lineup on this card I sure didn't expect a 3rd round KO and a 1st round KO to start the evening.

Just following the updates on my phone. I saw that Holmes stopped Murphy in the first round. I do not know the other two fighters from the first fight.

Very impressive from Itauma lovely shot to end it.

When he had Franklin hurt on the ropes late in the first he took a step back and fired a straight 1-2 little things like that are what makes these top fighters stand out. There are not many heavyweights with that boxing IQ most would of stayed and smothered their work or gave Franklin a chance to hold

Really?
I missed the Brad Paul's ko win, but thought the rest was pretty turgid and. uncompetitive.
Ituama needs better opposition, it's clear to see.

Well, lot of fights were evenly matched. Heavyweights, Light heavyweights and middleweights in action. Itauma was tested against guy who went to distance with Joshua and coming off a win against Dychko. Undefeated guys Ezra Taylor and Shakiel Thompson got exposed, because they fought finally against a guys who wanted to win. Nathan Heaney took an upset loss too. Some exciting KOs too. I am not saying it was best night of boxing. But usual boxing card have some undefeated flyweights, featherweights and lightweights against no hopers to build up their record. This was actuall pretty solid night IMO :box: :box: :box:

As ever I fell asleep just before the main fight started. Just watched it whilst on rower. He looked really good. I thought Willy was class. Shakiel will be heartbroken but well done to Pauls.

Most impressive thing from Itauma there was the restraint he showed after that vicious uppercut to effectively finish Franklin with a jab.

Another fighter would have blasted through with a full strength hook or straight in the heat of the moment, possibly giving Franklin a much more serious risk of injury.

Made me a bigger fan of the lad, as not only is he an excellent natural talent but has immense intelligence in fight.

As for the fight itself, a perfect example of excellent matchmaking. You had a durable opponent who doesn't punch hard (by heavyweight elite standards) but who held up well against Joshua and a closer prime Whyte thanks to being smaller and quicker than those two. Both things (mainly the speed) that he didn't have over Itauma.

Where next? I think Bakole could be a nice fight in Britain, and another that will give Itauma a nice emphatic KO victory. They could hype it after Bakole drawing with Ajagba giving Ajagba building his name now. I'm not sure FW will want to pay him big, but I am sure he would love to see him KO'd.

Judging by the Parker performance versus Wardley, I think Itauma deals with him handedly. Another like Franklin where styles make fights and his advantages of speed and movement stature will be negated by Itauma.
