He was already finished before that last shot.
But I agree. He did start rising. Could have counted.
Ridiculous to think of anything other than a stoppage.

that was scary how his expression changed, eyes glazed and open to another punch undefended. everything went slow it seemed thererd350lc wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026, 18:43He was done, his eyes were glazed.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026, 18:42I think it’s the way he fell face first.

At least if the referee is doing his job properly.

Franklin is an opponent. He's not a contender. Nor is he very motivated.
He was put in there to give rounds.

moses is beating guys all the top 15 should,, but he's doing it in style and at a much earlier point in his career than most do. and clearly there is some serious talent - the hand speed is some of the fastest there has been in generations at hw
i guess my biggest question at this stage would be his weight, only 21 and its all over the place already. he doesnt have to be conditioned when hes winning this early, but could be more of an issue if someone can extend him
but so far, doing excellent overall

If he's in no state to continue then wave it off.

Franklin had fought once in 2 years prior to this bout, that's almost semi retired
Time to put Moses in with a live opponent and quickly too - he doesn't fight often enough for a kid with only a dozen fights under his belt
Richard Torres is a great shout

While there are obviously better (and more dangerous) opponents out there, Itauma looked ominously comfortable with that pace.
Good luck to the guy trying to take more out of Moses than Moses takes out of him.

Would be a great fight and you can't seriously pick Torrez.
I mean you might bet on him @ like20/1 or something but you can't seriously think he'll win on talent and CV ??

torrez fight would be cool, im sure he'd come more aggressively than any moses opponent has so far. moses is looking great, but with the caveat that most of these were target practice fights. while you can say that's down to moses, i dont think any of the opponents ever really came in there intending to be that aggressive anyway. torrez looks really crud at times but hes effective with it. i suspect moses would light him up, but having to deal with torrez's awkward mauling would be a good test

Re: Round-by-Round: Moses Itauma vs. Jermaine Franklin | DAZN - 28 March 2026
That was some finish, he was basically KO'd on his feet.
Is Itauma a converted southpaw? His favoured power punch seems to be a heavy whipped in lead right hook which he switches to from a jab with great effect. His left cross is delivered more with an arc rather than straight through. That lead hook is devastating though.
I saw an interview with Wardley pre-fight and he mentioned he'd had Franklin over for sparring for his last 3 fights. He admitted to not being able to hurt Franklin at all, even when catching him with clean shots. Franklin may well just be the next Kevin 'i'll give you rounds' Johnson, but taking him out like that is impressive. I'd favour Itauma to do the likes of big Makh in a round or 2 as well.

Torrez is an Olympic silver medalist, who comes forward throwing and landing bombs. Itauma complained about the pace after the first round tonight,

Great offensive abilities, I think right up there with anyone we've had at HW since the 90s. Tons of speed and power, constant pressure, feints, comfortable counterpunching or leading, fluid combinations, no slow starts, switches from head to body, can deliver serious power from unorthodox angles (particularly with the right hook). Just the whole package. It's perhaps unfortunate that he's unlikely to face a proper gut check at anything short of world level.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026, 18:49 moses is beating guys all the top 15 should,, but he's doing it in style and at a much earlier point in his career than most do. and clearly there is some serious talent - the hand speed is some of the fastest there has been in generations at hw

He was intelligent enough to realise he was trying too hard to KO a guy with an excellent chin. After that, he was patient and paced himself.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026, 19:07Yes sir.skanksta wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026, 19:07Did he ?keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑28 Mar 2026, 19:04

That's a smart fighter.
Re: Round-by-Round: Moses Itauma vs. Jermaine Franklin | DAZN - 28 March 2026
One habit Moses Itauma has that I think could be taken advantage of is that thing he does where he goes up and down several times before attacking. The way it could be taken advantage of is he almost always does that multiple times once he starts, so when he's doing that bullsh*t. Time his rhythm and counterattack because an attack from him is definitely coming any second now, he's telling you so.
