Most Valuable Promotions signs multi-year deal with Sky Sports

MVP has an official broadcasting partner in the UK.

Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) company has just announced that they’ve officially reached a multi-year deal with Sky Sports to become the home of MVPW (its women’s boxing brand) in the United Kingdom. The deal with Sky will include two exclusively broadcast all-female fight cards from MVPW in the UK annually, starting with MVPW-01, the inaugural event set to take place just around the corner on April 5.

The first card will be held in London and headlined by a lightweight unification fight in Caroline Dubois (12-0-1, 5 KOs) vs Terri Harper (16-2-2, 6 KOs) with a co-featured bout between super bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney (11-0) facing fellow world champion Mayelli Flores (13-1-1, 4 KOs).

MVP’s deal with Sky Sports will also allow for selected MVPW events to be held Stateside, with a MVPW-02 card scheduled for Friday, April 17 at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden, headlined by junior lightweight champion Alycia Baumgardner defending her titles against Bo Mi Re Shin and Shadasia Green defending her super middleweight world titles against Lani Daniels as the co-main. That card will stream live on ESPN within the US.

Sky Sports agree multi-year deal with MVP's women's boxing platform, MVPW

Sky Sports and NOW will become the home of Most Valuable Promotions’ (MVP) new women’s boxing platform, MVPW, in the UK and Ireland, after agreeing a multi-year deal with the promoter.

The deal means Sky Sports will exclusively broadcast two all-female UK fight nights every year with the card at London’s Olympia on April 5 being MVPW’s first UK event. The all-women’s bill will include a double main event with Caroline Dubois meeting British rival Terri Harper in a lightweight world title unification fight, as well as Ellie Scotney facing Mexico’s WBA world titlist Mayelli Flores in a bout for all four belts.

As well as events on UK soil, Sky Sports will also show selected MVPW US fight nights, starting on 17 April 18 from the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden, with unified junior lightweight champion Alycia Baumgardner defending her titles against South Korea’s Bo Mi Re Shin in the main event. Shadasia Green will make a 10-round defense of her unified super middleweight world titles against former light heavyweight champion Lani Daniels in the co-main event.

Sky Sports is not stranger to women's boxing. The network broadcast the first all-female UK card in 2022 which was headlined by Claressa Shields' victory over Savannah Marshall. More than two million viewers saw at least part of that show, making it the most-watched women's professional boxing event at the time, delivering Sky's biggest audience for live women's sport ever. Just last year, Sky Sports exclusively broadcast the second all-female card in the UK, headlined by Lauren Price vs Natasha Jonas from the Royal Albert Hall.
