Unless he's got the heart and stomach of a concrete elephant, however (which I definitely don't rule out), I think Dubois is going to stop him. It's one thing taking stick off Parker or Huni or Clarke, quite another standing up to the sort of fire DDD brings.
For me the difference is that against good opponents, Wardley has generally had to soak up punishment, come back and stop them late (apart from Clarke II). I don't think that's really an option against Dubois. But you may well be right, he could catch and hurt him.

Re: Fabio Wardley
agree he's got a better chin, absolutely. Heart, yeah probably too, Parker is as brave as they come, but Dubois showed plenty against Miller and Hrgovic himself (and I doubt Wardley is going to frustrate the will out of him like Usyk did).joshj909 wrote: ↑31 Mar 2026, 17:39Parker has 10x the chin and heart that Dubois has though. But Dubois is definitely a much bigger puncher than Parker and Wardley's not hard to find. For me that makes the difference, but could easily be wrong. So yeah, it is interesting and I'd be amazed if it's not an entertaining fight

Hrgovic is an arm puncher. He's got very little power in his shots by heavyweight standards.

Isn't he the only heavyweight Uysk has stopped, twice?mickey1975 wrote: ↑31 Mar 2026, 18:00Nothing wrong with DDD chin.joshj909 wrote: ↑31 Mar 2026, 17:39Parker has 10x the chin and heart that Dubois has though. Re: Fabio Wardley
Yeah, he doesn't get many knockouts at all really, especially against decent names and when he does they're usually in the late rounds. He's an accumulation puncher rather than a knockout puncherTheLeprechaun wrote: ↑31 Mar 2026, 18:19 Hrgovic is an arm puncher. He's got very little power in his shots by heavyweight standards.
Re: Fabio Wardley
I'm pretty sure he's the only opponent that he's dropped in 10 years except semi-retired Bellew. Dropped three times against Lerena too.

If you say so, I haven’t checked. Daniel could have continued in both of those fights in my opinion.

It's a draw without that count.
Re: Fabio Wardley
Did he touch the canvas? And anyway, if he didn't get the standing count he would've been stopped.mickey1975 wrote: ↑01 Apr 2026, 06:27It's a draw without that count.
Regardless, Fury isn't know to have an exceptional chin, he just has incredible recovery. He didn't go down but even if he did, that doesn't make Dubois' chin any better.

Getting introduced as world champion (technically true but he isn’t really) by the likes of a fawning Adam Smith, doing lots of media work, dressed to the nines at press conferences
Is he taking his eye off the ball ?

He is a world champion. He’s beaten everyone put in front of him, often as underdog. He’s deserved of the status and beat a drug cheat in his last fight. Fair play.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑04 Apr 2026, 15:19 Getting introduced as world champion (technically true but he isn’t really) by the likes of a fawning Adam Smith, doing lots of media work, dressed to the nines at press conferences

Don’t get me wrong,, I fully respect all he’s achieved and he’s a top bloke but getting handed an alphabet title due to the vagaries of a sanctioning body’s arbitrary rules doesn’t make him a world champion in any true sense of the words.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑04 Apr 2026, 15:20He is a world champion. Re: Fabio Wardley
Who else wasn't a world champ because the only held one belt while the number 1 held the others? He beat a top t guy to get the belt. He might not be the number 1 but until things change. He's a world champ.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑04 Apr 2026, 15:26Don’t get me wrong,, I fully respect all he’s achieved and he’s a top bloke but getting handed an alphabet title due to the vagaries of a sanctioning body’s arbitrary rules doesn’t make him a world champion in any true sense of the words.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑04 Apr 2026, 15:20He is a world champion. Re: Fabio Wardley
That’s kind of my point Josh, not many of them deserve to be called world champs. Perhaps it’s different if a case could be made that the new “champ” is on the same level as the holder of the other belts.
Beating Parker didn’t gain him any real kudos either at an elite level.

I think it’s more an indictment of the wider sport than the method of Fabio’s acquisition of a version of it. I fully appreciate your points though.
Plus we all know the only real world title is the Commonwealth Silver Title.
