I know they say the last thing a boxer loses is his punch but in Wilders case he certainly doesn’t seem to be the same force in recent fights. He doesn’t seem to commit to his punches like he used to and I think it’s because he’s reluctant to trade.
Could change though if he sees a vulnerable man in front of him.

Got absolutly NO INTEREST in this , there is NO WAY i would get up early to watch these two , I'd rather go watch two old geezers shout , and scream at each other in the pub , at least that would be comical ,
Best result , bell goes ding ding , they both run out , both throw and land , ko each other and just fook off into the sunset , arms around each other patting each other on the back , and saying gonna score me a new jag next week brother , thanks too the idiots , both retire and let the promoters start promoting some fresh blood who actually want and deserve to earn a good living

Maybe we will see, I think he’s shot though and lacks confidence. I think Chisora will stop him around the half way mark.

Derek Chisora Calls Deontay Wilder 'Sensitive' Over Tyson Fury

The ghost of Tyson Fury still looms over Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder’s fight on Saturday.

Chisora is at peace after losing his three fights against the former Ring and WBC heavyweight champion. The same can’t be said for Wilder.

To this day, Wilder contends Fury cheated across their three fights and has blown up on multiple occasions at him being brought up, including in the build-up to his bout versus Chisora at O2 Arena in London on DAZN PPV. Chisora took aim at how Wilder has handled the aftermath of his bouts against Fury, who faces Arslanbek Makhmudov a week later in London on Netflix.

“I think Tyson gave Deontay PTSD,” Chisora said on Inside The Ring on Monday. “In London, we tried to speak about Tyson and he went nuts on [Talksport host] Simon Jordan. We tried to speak about Tyson today with Piers Morgan, and he went nuts as well. Tyson has given him PTSD.

“He’s very sensitive. He’s in a dark place right now.”

Fury beat Chisora once by unanimous decision and twice by stoppage. After a split draw in their first fight, Fury stopped Wilder twice, with the latter being a back-and-forth war where both fighters were dropped multiple times.

Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs), 42, enters on a three-fight win streak. He last fought in February of last year and beat Otto Wallin by unanimous decision.

Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs), a former WBC heavyweight champion who defended the title 10 times, got back into the win column with his seventh-round stoppage of Tyrrell Herndon in June. The 40-year-old from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, had lost four of his last five fights before Herndon.

Chisora has maintained that he and Wilder will remain friends regardless of the result Saturday. That friendship won’t stand in Chisora's way as he looks to end his career on a high note in what he claims will be his 50th and final fight.

“I’m going to smash him,” he said. “I’m coming for him. It's all love, but when that bell goes off, I need to get to him. If I give him space, it'll be a long night for me. I have to get to him and smash him up.”

And neither main event is one I've looked forward to
More interested in Wardley vs Dubois but I don't care that much for either fighter to pay for it.
I'm just bores with the heavyweight division at this time. Hopefully something peaks my interest soon

Abner Teixeira, the Olympic bronze medalist, won’t be making his pro debut on the undercard for Derek Chisora vs Deontay Wilder after all.

Teixeira’s manager, Sal Jobe, broke the news. They’d set him up to face Dan Garber from Bradford (who’s 11-7 as a pro) on the April 4 MF Pro event at London’s O2 Arena. But on Thursday, Teixeira found out he was off the card.

Turns out, the British Boxing Board of Control put their foot down. They won’t allow overseas fighters to debut professionally in the UK. The organizers got the official word through an email on Thursday—talkSPORT.com even saw a copy.

Jobe gave his side: “The issue wasn’t with Dan Garber. He’s fought some tough guys, and would have been a solid opponent for Abner’s first fight. What the Board said is Abner needs to have his debut back home in Brazil before fighting here.”

So, the plan’s changed. Abner’s going to fight in Brazil instead, probably around the same time as the original date. Once that’s done, he’ll aim for a quick turnaround on a Misfits card.

Honestly, it’s rough luck. Abner was pumped—this was his chance to introduce himself to British fans. He’s already a big name in Brazil, and after the fight was announced, messages of support flooded in.

He was furious when he heard, and you get why. The guy trains six days a week, every week, and he’s been laser-focused on this debut for more than a year. He finally got a date, started zeroing in on details, went on a press tour in Brazil where everyone’s buzzing to see their Olympic hero’s debut…and just before he’s about to fly out, he gets pulled from the card.

That’s where things stand. Not what anyone wanted, but hopefully Abner bounces back quick.

Wilder deems Chisora 'true test' to see if he's back to his best

Deontay Wilder wants anyone who thinks he considers Derek Chisora some sort of tune-up opponent to know that couldn’t be further from the truth.

The 40-year-old Wilder realizes he isn’t in position to overlook anyone, let alone a resurrected Chisora who has fared much better than the more accomplished Wilder since their respective knockout defeats to Tyson Fury.

London’s Chisora has won three straight fights since Fury stopped him in the 10th round of their December 2022 bout, whereas Wilder is 2-2 since Fury brutally knocked him out in the 11th round of their third fight in October 2021.

Though the 6-foot-7 Wilder was a long-reigning WBC champion and is lauded as one of the most pulverizing punchers in boxing history, the 42-year-old Chisora is consistently listed as a 2-1 favorite to win their 12-round fight Saturday night at O2 Arena in London. Wilder views Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) as the type of stubborn opponent who will let him know if he is the fighter he was before Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang beat him during a difficult 5½-month stretch from December 2023 until June 2024.

Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) defeated overmatched American Tyrrell Herndon (24-6, 15 KOs) in the seventh round of his most recent bout. The Tuscaloosa, Alabama native nevertheless realizes that he has more to prove than winning what was designed as a tuneup fight June 27 in Wichita, Kansas.

“I don’t look at him as a warm-up at all,” Wilder told The Ring’s Rick Reeno during a recent episode of the “Mr. Verzace Podcast,” available on The Ring’s YouTube channel.

“You know what I’m saying? To get me prepared for anybody else, as far as me coming back, getting myself back together and stuff like that, I think Derek is the perfect person. You know what I mean? Like you say, he got that ‘War’ engine. He’s gonna be coming all night and that’s what Imma need most.

“Everything that makes up Derek ‘War’ Chisora, Deontay Wilder need it in his life. … I need all that to get myself prepared for whoever else is in the division. If I get past him, nobody else, I ain’t worried about nothing else. I’ll know – this will be my true test to see if I’m back for sure, because I know he’s coming to fight. And I’m coming to fight as well. It’s gonna be a great fight. And what’s so unique about this, this is both of our 50th fight. I don’t think it’s ever been done in history.”

Chisora insists that he will retire after he faces Wilder – win, lose or draw.

The Zimbabwe-born veteran has enjoyed a resurgence sustained by beating Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin in his past three bouts, all on points. Chisora lost four of his previous five fights, but to top opponents in Oleksandr Usyk, Parker (twice) and Fury.

Subscribers to DAZN’s Ultimate plan, which costs $44.99 monthly in the United States and $24.99 in the United Kingdom, can watch the Wilder-Chisora card for no additional charge. Non-subscribers can purchase the show on pay-per-view in the U.S. ($49.99) and the UK ($24.99).

CHISORA 'NERVOUS' OF WILDER'S POWER, KEEN TO AVOID KO LOSS

Derek Chisora has seen the destruction Deontay Wilder’s power can cause from ringside seats.

That’s why, despite Wilder’s slippage the past few years, the veteran heavyweight will be extremely mindful of the former WBC champion’s ravaging right hand when they square off Saturday night at O2 Arena in London. As much as it is ingrained in Chisora to go toe-to-toe, he realizes Wilder can change any fight he is losing instantaneously.

The last thing Chisora wants is to get knocked out in what he repeatedly promised will be the last fight of his 19-year professional career.

“I have to move that head, bro,” Chisora said during the newest episode of “Inside The Ring,” which is available on The Ring’s YouTube channel and DAZN. “So, I’m a bit nervous about the punch because, to be honest with you, I don’t wanna get knocked out in front of my home crowd – 18,000 and the pay-per-view and everybody watching at home. You know, my street credit will go down low, very low.”

London’s Chisora, 42, lost by knockout four times in 49 bouts – twice to Tyson Fury and once apiece to David Haye and Dillian Whyte. Wilder, 40, has won 88 percent of his pro bouts by knockout (44-4-1, 43 KOs).

Wilder, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is 2-4 in his past six fights, but Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) will still be very wary of the devastating power that has made the 2008 U.S. Olympian one of the most memorable knockout artists in boxing history.

“Listen, I watched Deontay Wilder fight [Luis Ortiz] and he was losing those rounds,” Chisora said. “And from somehow, somewhere, he went, ‘Bow!’ That guy didn’t get up. I was like, ‘Oh, Jesus. Oh, wow! That’s some power.’ Even when he was losing that fight in New York, and from [somewhere] he just knocked [Artur] Szpilka out. You know, he was fighting Tyson Fury. In the seventh round, eighth round, he hit Tyson so good. For some reason Tyson Fury got up, you know? So, you could tell his power is dangerous.”

Wilder was ahead on all three scorecards when he produced a highlight-reel, ninth-round knockout of Poland’s Szpilka in January 2016, but Chisora’s nervousness is understandable.

Chisora is nonetheless listed by most sportsbooks as a 2-1 favorite over Wilder. The Zimbabwe native has won three fights in a row, but he hasn’t boxed in almost 14 months, not since he unanimously out-pointed Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin in February 2025.

Subscribers to DAZN’s Ultimate plan, which costs $44.99 monthly in the United States and $24.99 in the United Kingdom, can watch the Wilder-Chisora card for no additional charge. The event is available for non-subscribers on pay-per-view in the U.S. ($49.99) and the UK ($24.99).
