Come on, let's not get carried away. He's not even the fastest southpaw heavyweight; Corrie Sanders' handspeed was just as good.

I mean in their primes I think Holyfield, Tyson, Sanders, Wlad Klitschko, Chris Byrd were all in the same league speed-wise and several were clearly faster. Ituama looks so fast because the guys he's facing are extremely immobile.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑30 Mar 2026, 17:35what's your list of heavies with faster hands since dokes?dempseyfire wrote: ↑30 Mar 2026, 17:33Come on, let's not get carried away. Dokes' hand speed was off the charts for a heavyweight
Eddie Chambers was pretty speedy with his dukes. Chris Byrd was very quick too.
It's inescapable to notice that Ituama has very fast hands and he delivers the punches correctly too.

Torrez is the natural fight, and I'd pick Itauma to win quite easily. Don't think Torrez has the timing or size to get the job done.
Joyce would've been a good matchup a few years ago, same as Ruiz or Miller, but they're all too past it now. Don't laugh, but what about Hughie? If he could Shades it long enough to see Itauma's wheels. Stopping him would look very good for Itauma, and a win for Hughie would leapfrog him into contention. Or Parker's available.

I think Parker is the ideal opponent actually. Could be a measuring stick to see how he does against Parker as opposed to how Wardley did.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑30 Mar 2026, 21:08 Torrez is the natural fight, and I'd pick Itauma to win quite easily. If Miller beats Lenier Pero he makes as much sense as anyone I'd say, but that's a big if.
Any of the young unbeaten prospects would surely rather wait until their fight with Itauma is for all the marbles before putting themselves in front of him I'd imagine. Surely their managers must think that if they have any sense.

Yeah, I thought of Anderson, but doubt he's in a hurry. We'll have to see how Riakporhe and Okolie get on next month.
If either or both look good there should be an easy British fight to make between them.

Chris Mannix on his podcast pointed out that Hrgovic is a very unusual opponent to match Dave Allen with and speculated that Hrgovic has been brought in by Warren for this fight in order to raise his profile further with UK fans with the intention of lining him up as Moses’ next opponentforcefraser wrote: ↑30 Mar 2026, 11:44 Andy Ruiz or Hrgovic for me. That actually makes sense. They could probably talk him into fighting Itauma by paying him well to fight a guy like Dave Allen first.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑30 Mar 2026, 21:35Chris Mannix on his podcast pointed out that Hrgovic is a very unusual opponent to match Dave Allen with and speculated that Hrgovic has been brought in by Warren for this fight in order to raise his profile further with UK fans with the intention of lining him up as Moses’ next opponentforcefraser wrote: ↑30 Mar 2026, 11:44 Andy Ruiz or Hrgovic for me. Least he’s signing them to create a future fight unlike Eddie who signed Ortiz to keep him away from AJ
Re: Round-by-Round: Moses Itauma vs. Jermaine Franklin | DAZN - 28 March 2026
The Ortiz that he signed then couldn't stop Malik Scott and couldn't drop David Allen when fighting on Matchroom cards? Joshua ended up facing Klitschko later that year, he must have been terrified.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑31 Mar 2026, 07:55That’s really clever and makes senseCaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑30 Mar 2026, 21:35Chris Mannix on his podcast pointed out that Hrgovic is a very unusual opponent to match Dave Allen with and speculated that Hrgovic has been brought in by Warren for this fight in order to raise his profile further with UK fans with the intention of lining him up as Moses’ next opponentforcefraser wrote: ↑30 Mar 2026, 11:44 Andy Ruiz or Hrgovic for me. Parker would be another big step up, he's still a world class fighter, and not over the hill yet.gilgamesh wrote: ↑30 Mar 2026, 21:19I think Parker is the ideal opponent actually. Parker would definitely come to win as well, everything to gain if he wins.
I'd be pretty astonished if they matched Itauma with Parker, the gulf in experience is huge.
That said, as risky as it is, I think it's a great matchup - even if he lost, I doubt Itauma gets bashed up and he would learn a huge amount from fighting Parker I think.
It definitely isn't Warren's style though, maybe in a couple of years time.
I actually think holding Itauma back is a mistake, it could hamper his progression as a fighter, he has all the tools there it seems, but needs experience.
I doubt anybody would hire me as a matchmaker though.

Warren has signed a few guys recently that definitely seen like opponents rather than his guys. Needs opponents for his guys, and if his guys lose, he still leaves with the champion

agreed. Mo will face constant pressure from Miller. Dubois couldn't knock him over for 10 rounds.rhino222 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2026, 09:38I disagree, Chisora is basic jabs and hooks. Itauma lays him out within 4 rounds. I think Baby Miller is the fight for Itauma.

Makhamudov got the Fury fight off a one-sided beating of Allen.
Hrgovic is much better than Mak and will probably stop Allen too. He’s also pretty funny and from some of the clips I seen of him in the Allen pressers he’s quite dry and has the audience laughing.
I in between I’m sure they could bung Itauma in as co-main to prop up another Queensbury card against anybody they can find who’ll take a paycheque.
When Hrgovic walks through the loveable Allen with ease, they’ll easily be able to fill the 02 with Hrgovic vs Itauma later in the year.

Now seen the fight, and I might be the only boxing fan that actually favours Usyk more confidently following that fight ( if it’s in the next 12 months) than before the fight.
Think Usyk can take the power and think Itauma will use up a lot of nervous energy and will gas by the 7th , 8th round and Usyk will take over.

Bakole has definitely not lost one type of hunger.
Anyway, he's probably knocked out Itauma in sparring already.

We saw against Fury, that Tyson was forced to work at a pace hecwssnt comfortable with, Belles said something similar in that the front foot pressure was unbearable.stujones wrote: ↑03 Apr 2026, 15:34 Now seen the fight, and I might be the only boxing fan that actually favours Usyk more confidently following that fight ( if it’s in the next 12 months) than before the fight.

When Uysk sees fit, he is willing to give up some rounds as he obviously feels it takes more out of his opponent
