Tommy Hearns placed under guardianship

Just spotted this on YouTube, Hearns has dementia and there's been issues after stories of family holding him and potential financial exploitation. Also some reports of GoFundMe type accounts created asking for money. He has now been placed under the care of his son.

I hate to hear that. Happens to many people's parents as they age whether they fought or didn't, but I'm sure all the KO losses and blows to the head don't help with your mental stability as you age.

I hope he's as well taken care of as possible in his Twilight years. We'll always love and revere Tommy Hearns around here.

I've known two guys who met Hearns and they said he was a real nice guy, no attitude whatsoever, or I'm a badass persona.

- Couldn't stand Hearns initially because of his TommyGun HitMan profile in the middle of the Crack era. That was devastating for Black inner city youths that still rings true today with gun killings.

Always came to fight, and after further insight I realize he was given that profile by Steward who likely picked it up by all his Gym mates at that time.

Always felt Steward dropped the ball by letting him overtrain on the eve of the first Leonard fight.

Tommy was blessed with underrated boxing skills coupled with massive power and fought everyone as I dropped Leonard to embrace Tommy Fandom. Glad to see he has a family that can care for him. They've been making incredible strides with brain injuries, and he could maybe step out of the fog to resume a structured, more normal existence...Keep Hope Alive...

This kind of thing is always sad to see. Always tough to see people in declining health. I'm sure many of us have gone through this with family. On a day-to-day basis it can be gut wrenching.
