Froch: I’m going to spark Dodson
Froch: I’m going to spark Dodson

Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch has promised to knock out long-term rival Tony Dodson on Friday 24th November when he attempts to win the British Title outright in front of his loyal hometown fan base on a Hennessy Sports event at the Nottingham Arena.
The undefeated 29-year-old spoke about the long-awaited showdown during an interview he gave to the web-site of the high-flying Nottingham Panthers whilst attending their recent 4-2 win over the Cardiff Devils.
“I have been scheduled to fight him a couple of times,” Froch explained to www.Panthers.co.uk. “When he was British champion, (in early 2004), I was his mandatory and he chose not to fight me. He was training for the fight and he pulled out with an injury - bad back, bad leg. Then he fell off his bike – bad knee. The excuses kept coming out.
“It does seem he’s been training for this fight for over two years … He’s had a long-time to prepare for me, to get himself set and ready. He’ll come and he’ll be bringing a big force with him. He’ll be trying to upset the Carl Froch train, but it’s not happening.
“I’m going to make a promise to my fans this time. I’m going to do a good job and knock him spark out. I don’t usually say that, I don’t usually threaten people with knockouts, but I’m definitely going to do a number on him. It’s going to be one to watch.”

Tickets for Froch-Dodson at the Nottingham Arena on November 24th are now on sale priced £25, £30, £60 and £80. To book please call 0870 121 0123 or click here.

He wins the Lonsdale belt outright should he beat Dodson. I have far more respect for our boxers who prove themselves worthy British champions rather than these jokers who win and milk so called word titles.
Not sure if Dodson is the mandatory or not, but Froch has already seen off two mandatory challengers which is more than he needs to do under the rules of the BBBofC.
You don't get too many of our British champs doing that these days.
Bottom line is this fight can be talked up and down, left and right but Froch delivers, broken hands or not, and I'm totally convinced he'll be walking out the ring with the Londsdale belt to keep....and he'll have earned it

Say what you like about the Magee fight, but broken hands or not, he knocked Magee the fakk out. End of.Max Molyneux wrote:Froch's an idiot Dodson was in a car crash.
He says he can knock Calzaghe out, he's all talk.
You don't hear Tony blaming the gloves to why he breaks his hands either like after the Magee fight.![]()
Froch breaks his hand more than Calzaghe does!
I think Dodson by TKO now.

Froch wants the Lonsdale belt - that's definitely one for the mantlepiece, nothing wrong with that.Riddick Blowe wrote:Froch to smoke his boots.
Should we expect many more of these fights or is Carl actually going to aim for titles as he promised?
You get the impression Carl will feature in a few 'grudge matches' in his career

He did KO him but his defence was terrible and Magee ducked Barbosa who Dodson whooped.
Froch looked shit against Barney too who could of beat Froch if he wasn't a spoiler just there for the money and to build up Froch's record.
Just because Dodson beat Barbosa it does not mean that he would of beaten Magee.Max Molyneux wrote:He did KO him but his defence was terrible and Magee ducked Barbosa who Dodson whooped.![]()
Why do you keep saying that?Max Molyneux wrote:Froch looked shit against Barney too who could of beat Froch if he wasn't a spoiler just there for the money and to build up Froch's record.

I sincerely hope YOU spark him, you have my full support and I guess many others also - Haskins got a pounding last night using that same style - It seems to me people who box like that are arrogant bigheads, the style and the attitude seem to go together.Tony 'The Warrior' Dodson wrote:guys have any of you watched his perfthetit video on thet http://www.panthers.co.uk site you can get on it through the hennesy web site lmfao watch the stupid FACE he pulls after he mentions knowcking me out owwwwwwwww i find him funny as smeg an dont give a monkeys what he said that look on his face just said everything i needed to hear lmfao enjoy all.Tony dodson
Max Molyneux, Hardly anyone looks good against Barney and Froch thrashed him. Barney didn't come close to beating Froch and never will. He's clearly an inferior boxer and had Barney decided to put up a fight he'd have been taken care of relatively quickly.
The excellent Barbosa win was quite a while ago now but if we going to keep on about it there's some rather ominous defeats on Tony's ledger that do not bode too well.
Froch has beaten better opponents than Barbosa and Carl has become pretty seasoned at the championship distance too.

Troubled? He's been hit cleanly, shuddered but not taken off his feat. He's been pushed hard by Adamu but came through like the champion he is. But this is boxing and these things happens. Bottom line is he's winning the fights and in most cases winning them well....most of the guys aren't making the finishing line.
He's completed the 12 round distance well and when he does go pass 6 rounds he's proved he's the boss over his opponents down the back straight too.
Didn't Barney lose by something like 6 clear points or more ? That's being thrashed. Barney fought to survive and managed it, big deal.
Beating a beatable Jamie Hearn is one thing, Froch another thing altogether as you'll soon see, assuming there's no pullouts!

I don't get the vitriol so many of you guys have for Froch, he has a british title and is trying to fight the best of the british scene which I think is good, furthermore he is hoping to go the european route to the world title a respectible way of doing so and good for the sport. He isn't dodging anyone, he could well have said Tony Who and fought somone else but took the fight with the full knowledge Dodson is a capable fighter who will fight to win.
He beat Barny who was robed of a title at the weight devision above and Beat Maggee who has fought at the top level of the devision. All I hear on this board is about his low guard and his arrogence (1) low guard may be an issue it may not he avoids the brunt of even the hits he takes (2) arrogence sells people will tune in to see froch win or loose just like they did with Eubank, he is cocky and he is good which is good for boxing.
Stop bitching give the guy some respect and may the best man win.

As a Blues fan I can tell you that Savage is a class A w@nker. And a publicity wh0re to boot.Terence wrote:I have nothing against Froch personally, he reminds me of Robbie savage, can come across as a bit of a tool but when he sits down to give an interview he can actually be alright.
Having said that, we havent been the same team since he abandoned ship..
