If not why not?

He has only 8 Heavyweight fights against 5 fighters. Name me another all time great heavyweight
He's undoubtedly an All Time Great Cruiserweight and he's Top 10 P4P since the year 2000, but Boxing didn't begin in the year 2000
He'd have to still be Champion 3 or 4 years from now to even make it worth asking.tiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Apr 2026, 20:25 I don't rank active fighters in my all time ratings. That being said. he has a ways to go to be included
He's #1 all time for the country of Ukraine definitely. Wladimir is the only one who could have an argument against him and I think Usyk wins that argument.Taansend wrote: ↑14 Apr 2026, 23:21 I don't like to include fighters until 5 years after their last bout.
I remember back in 2017/18 there were plenty (online) saying Loma was the best of all time.
He was bloody brilliant, but it's hard to say that when a fighter only has 21 pro bouts.
Armstrong made 19 defences between 1938 & 1940, as well as fighting other great fighters in other divisions.
It's too hard to compare fighters now with the 1920s-1950s.
Anyway, back to Usyk. He's definitely in my top ten European fighters![]()
What about Loma?gilgamesh wrote: ↑14 Apr 2026, 23:50He's #1 all time for the country of Ukraine definitely. Less fights than Usyk but he lost 3 of em. That's what about Loma.Taansend wrote: ↑15 Apr 2026, 01:03What about Loma?gilgamesh wrote: ↑14 Apr 2026, 23:50He's #1 all time for the country of Ukraine definitely. The problem with this argument is that if Usyk went back to the past he would face the same nutritional & medical issues that fighters of the past did.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑15 Apr 2026, 03:49 Yes
Athletes get better with every generation. That's a scientific fact. Hence, no fighter from the past would be able to defeat Usyk. Hence, he is the greatest of all time.
And he also won 40 more fights, and had more Heavyweight Championship fights than anyone not named Joe Louis.
Talent wise possibly. Achievement wise, he's 3rd best.Sweet Dick Willie wrote: ↑15 Apr 2026, 14:08 Top 20 or 25 or 30 maybe. Depends on the day. The problem is the level of opponents.
Loma is the greatest Ukrainian fighter ever.
I think you nailed ittiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Apr 2026, 20:49He has only 8 Heavyweight fights against 5 fighters. Name me another all time great heavyweight
with only 5 different opponents
He has multiple wins over the consensus 2 and 3 of the era in an era which, while not great, is not the worst. Who are the top 10 heavies of the best era's who have managed to get consistent top level wins?Grilling Machine wrote: ↑16 Apr 2026, 16:33 Best cruiser in its strongest era imo, but only the best heavy in one of its weakest. So to rate him P4P top ten you either have to appreciate his cruiser career enough to qualify largely by itself, or believe he'd have beaten at least a few great heavies from the past.
