Had one bout against an Army PT instructor.

Agreed. It takes nuts to put the gloves on. I don't give a toss about the exposure levels of the photo.

Nope
I've talked about this before on here.
My mum pulled me out and refused to drive me to competitions after losing 7 fights on the trot.
I had a massive growth spurt and was so uncoordinated I was just getting hammered. Still loved the sport.![[icon_e_sad.gif] :verysad:](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)

Had some solid spars in my youth (Hoddesdon) and was told that I had a decent punch, for my size.
After a few decent scraps, I was put in with some kids who really did know how to box and sent me home with ringing headaches, so thought better to leave it there before someone really did put a dent in me
A bit too small, but could punch a bit, so I'll take that memory and ignore the rest
PS My nephew had 1 AM fight, just before he started Uni, last year and was fighting a much more seasoned AM, who had about 12 fights (he was 21 and my nephew 18, at that time). My nephew who looks a bit like Itauma and is quite big, delivered a massive overhand right which dropped this other kid for almost 20 seconds, with head gear.
He has stopped boxing due to his studies and I have the fight on my phone but wouldn't even know to upload that. It was some punch though

If only I'd have swerved a bit more in the ring I wouldn't have had a bloodied nose and split lip.

Had 19 amateur fights and 1 white collar when I got into my late 30s ,won 15 lost 4 ,think I won my 1st 8 or 9 fights on the bounce and got to the final of the Scottish championships, where I lost on pts ,probably could have done no bad if id stuck at it ,but was more interested in going to the football with my mates and the lifestyle that went with it at the time

That’s a great record especially making a national final. What was the white collar scene like?John C Reilly wrote: ↑26 Apr 2026, 01:39 Had 19 amateur fights and 1 white collar when I got into my late 30s ,won 15 lost 4 ,think I won my 1st 8 or 9 fights on the bounce and got to the final of the Scottish championships, where I lost on pts ,probably could have done no bad if id stuck at it ,but was more interested in going to the football with my mates and the lifestyle that went with it at the time

Re: I was shit at boxing ..
Had my last amateur fight when I was about 25 ,13 years later wanted to test myself one last time, the white collar show was decent ,big hotel in centre of Glasgow, Sam Kynoch was promoting the shows, beat my opponent unanimous dec,he wasn't the best tbh,bit younger and fitter, but no much skills
