Re: Daniel Kinahan
It's difficult as Kinahan was actually good for boxing and boxers in a lot of ways. People made more money, fights got made etc.
Many would rather deal with him than the likes of a smarmy odious rat like Hearn or the likes of Wazza.
The boxers and trainers etc I can understand. If anyone is going to get done it should be the higher ups if there is any encrypted messages etc. The people on the ground who struggle to make a living in boxing can't be expected to be the moral arbiters of the sport, especially when the guy was a good guy to everyone in boxing by all accounts.

I wouldn't do it myself and some of those mentioned will probably be under active investigation as we speak but I'm just saying it as it is.

I imagine Macklin is awaiting a very loud pre dawn knock at the door
Re: Daniel Kinahan
It's because he was money laundering. He was financing shows accepting a significant loss. That's unsustainable and tying the sport to criminals. Not entirely sure it's best for boxing. He had people assassinated, I think that says more about the boxers ethics than anyone else's.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑26 Apr 2026, 14:18 It's difficult as Kinahan was actually good for boxing and boxers in a lot of ways. Re: Daniel Kinahan
Everyone knew he was a mass murderer they just didn’t care because they were getting paid.
People who publicly praised him should be treated in the same way as someone who would praise Ian Huntley, Peter Sutcliffe etc.
He had people shot dead in the street in front of their kids, had people murdered in packed pubs.
The amount of damage he’s done to people who witnessed these murders & have lost relatives & loved ones to these murders is hard to even comprehend.
No one in boxing should ever have anything to do with scum of the earth like Sam Jones, Ben Davison, Billy Joe Saunders etc.

I'm sure they'd give the usual excuse of "I just take people as I find them, and he never murdered anyone in front of me."a force wrote: ↑26 Apr 2026, 16:05 Everyone knew he was a mass murderer they just didn’t care because they were getting paid.

Re: Daniel Kinahan
Frampton mentions it in his book. MTK/Kinihan was his manager that took 0% from his purse. Think Kinihan just wanted to be in boxing for the glory (or laundering). He seemed to get his fighters some great pay days and opportunities. From a boxers perspective you can see why so many went with him and turned a blind eye to the other stuff. Some managers take upto 20%-25%.....he took 0%. Especially looking at it from Framptons point of view.....he got absolutely shafted by the McGugians.

Re: Daniel Kinahan
Gotta be money laundering.
He didn’t need to make money off the boxers.
Even doing it for glory doesn’t make sense.
Not like his name was plastered everywhere.

Re: Daniel Kinahan
In usual forms of money laundering, the launderers can expect to get about half of their money into the system and out of the other end. If Kinahan put up £50m for a fight and it lost £20m, that's still as effective as money laundering through usual means but in a significant sum, making it quicker. Same as if he was a manager taking a tiny fee. He also got to hang around with celebrities and got to make himself seem like a hotshot in the boxing world to further stroke his ego. It was definitely money laundering, not the love of the sport.

Well he’s helped lots of people… look at what AJ’s 258 Investments Ltd Company was initially called - MTK Investments. Coincidence?
And look who Adam Morallee’s biggest client was: there is a NY Times article about it.
And Spencer Brown isn’t even called Spencer Brown there’s some interesting information about him.

I was just wondering - where will the case be heard? I mean the US department of State issues the bounty of $5 million so I assume the will be seeking deportation to the USA… but to my knowledge DK hasn’t been active in the states.
Surely he should be tried in the countries where he is alleged to have committed a crime? Who made the USA the global police force? How do they have the authority over criminal proceedings concerning affairs that didn’t take place under US jurisdiction?
Any legal experts here can you explain?

This article implies the extradition would be to Ireland.

I just can’t understand why the USA are involved. Where there any MTK shows in the US?

I know they were broadcast on ESPN+, which was a deal done through Arum as he had contract with them too.
Are they going to look at Probellum as well?
They made it so obvious that it was a MTK 2.0
