All I want to know is if the strait is open yet?

I thought this whole thing was supposed to be over in 1 to 3 weeks at most. Trump is orchestrating the destruction of the Republicans in November’s midterms. :yay:

Trump closed it, and he closed it far better than the Iranians did.

In fact he closed it so well it may never open again.

A 'leak' says that the US plans on extending the blockade on the strait....

What is the betting by monday this will have been rescinded.

No doubt Trump and his friends would have oil interests, but politically he badly needs the Strait to be open and oil prices to drop.

No way this has all been a cunning plan, even he would know that high oil prices will be a net negative to the USA and he's seeing it in the polls.

The thing is, Trump couldn't give a flying fornicate about gas prices for the average American.

He isn't standing for election, so why would he give a shit? He won't care in the republican party gets shot to shit, he doesn't care about his legacy or anything, he can sit there polishing his Fifa peace prize, his switch watch and gold bar, and count the tens of billions he and his family will have amassed from grifting non stop whilst in office.

If they tank in the midterms, who cares.

I guarantee he is in cahoots with senior execs at oil companies, and is receiving massive amounts of money for tip offs on his next pronouncements, as well as those on trading floors who are also making fortunes.
He couldn't care less, gas prices be damned.

His proper followers are so thick, he can just tell them gas prices are down, or that it's biden or obamas fault, and they will lap it up.

I hear that you get 1000 dollars for every 100 litres of free gas you fill your car with.

The U.S. has burned through 25 billion so far in this conflict and the administration wants a further 200 billion in funding. The military industrial complex keeps rolling along:

I'd double that figure lots of talk it's way under and doesn't include all the US airbases which have been destroyed

Trump is still claiming victory and that Iran is begging for a deal. We all know who is really begging.

Reports mention that Iran has managed to shoot down 10% of the US's reaper drones. Pretty good going for a country with no Airforce. It is like Ukraine destroying a third of Russia's Black Sea fleet - without a navy.

Trump's latest claims are that Iran will collapse economically because it can't sell oil or get goods in or out of Iran. This just doesn't seem to be the case at the moment. Iran is sneaking tankers along its coastline and into Pakistan's territorial waters to avoid the US blockade.

Then there is how to safely shut down Iran's 3,000 oil wells if it can't move the oil. It seems quite doable but would cause production problems in future when it comes time to open the wells up again. It is not necessarily the disaster that Fox News paints, where all these wells seize up and become totally unusable.

Trump's plan A was to bomb the shit out of Iran for a few weeks and then it would collapse. When this did not happen, only then did Trump realise there was no plan B. What a tosser!

This war is looking more and more like an asset stripping exercise. Unfortunately for all of us in the west this will see more power go to Iran, SA and China.

That's quite reasonable, despite the fact Mandlesons relationship was widely reported in the media, Starmer still appointed him as he didn't know.
The security services warned against it too, but nobody told the PM

The idea that Starmer didn't know is absolutely risible - it simply is not possible.

If indeed it were true, then he is not fit to be PM, it's unthinkable a sitting PM could be that much out of the loop and run the country effectively.

Starmer is just a walking disaster, he should do the decent thing and just resign, and give his party a chance to recover in time for the election.
