Could Chavez have ever beaten Whittaker? Was Chavez a bit too past it and a bit too far away from his best weight. Did Whittaker's team purposely avoid Chavez until the time was right (I have heard unsubstantiated claims that this was so)? Or would Whittaker always have Chavez's number?

Yep. Two all-time greats, but Whittaker was on a nother level.
