ZUFFA BOXING 07: CHRIS BILLAM-SMITH VS. RYAN ROZICKI TOPS JUNE 6 CARD

Chris Billam-Smith will face Ryan Rozicki in a 10-round cruiserweight clash as Zuffa head to British shores on June 6, it announced Wednesday.

Billam-Smith (21-2, 13 KOs) and Rozicki (21-1-1, 20 KOs) pits two of The Ring's top-five rated cruiserweights against one another in an intriguing headliner at Bournemouth International Centre.

Both cruiserweights inked multi-fight deals with Zuffa earlier this month, aware that Ring champion Jai Opetaia holds the promotional company's inaugural belt after outclassing Brandon Glanton in Las Vegas on March 8.

Billam-Smith is The Ring's No. 2-rated contender trailing Opetaia and former foe Gilberto Ramirez, who outpointed him during a grueling WBO/WBA title unification in November 2024. Rozicki meanwhile sits No. 5 at 200 pounds.

Bournemouth-based former world titleholder Billam-Smith made the BIC a fortress under the BOXXER promotional banner before clinching WBO honors against Lawrence Okolie in 2023, scoring gritty wins over Isaac Chamberlain (UD12), Armend Xhoxhaj (KO5) and Mateusz Masternak (RTD8) along the south Coast in a 17-month spell.

Having outworked Glanton himself to score a wide points win on the Chris Eubank Jr-Conor Benn I undercard, he's naturally excited to end a year-long absence among home comforts with a familiar broadcaster in Sky Sports.

In a press release, the 35-year-old said: "This is a huge opportunity for me back in front of my amazing supporters. Sky Sports know just how incredible these fight nights are in Bournemouth and this one will be no different. Zuffa Boxing is all about proper fights under the lights and that's exactly what Rozicki brings to the table."

Rozicki meanwhile, ended his own injury lay-off with a second-round stoppage of Chile's Gerardo Mellado last month on a club show in Canada and the 31-year-old backs himself to deliver a career-best win on enemy territory.

"It's a tough fight and that's exactly what I wanted when I signed with Zuffa Boxing," he said in the same release.

"I know what he brings and I respect that, but he hasn't been in there with someone like me. I'm focused on my work, taking it day-by-day, and I'll be ready on fight night. The fans are going to get a real fight."

Their 10-round headline bout will mark Zuffa's first show outside U.S. territories, being streamed on Sky Sports in the UK and Paramount+ across the U.S. and Canada.

Zuffa Boxing launches in the UK with Chris Billam-Smith-Ryan Rozicki

Cruiserweight contenders Chris Billam-Smith and Ryan Rozicki will meet in Zuffa Boxing’s first UK show.

Former WBO champion Billam-Smith will be fighting in his home fortress, the Bournemouth International Centre, against the Canadian puncher in an important fight at 200lbs on Saturday, June 6.

Zuffa Boxing, of course, also work with the world’s No. 1 cruiserweight Jai Opetaia, and Billam-Smith has spoken openly of his desire to meet the big-punching Australian.

“I’m coming home,” said Billam-Smith, who won his world title with a career-defining victory over Lawrence Okolie at the town’s soccer stadium. “This is a huge opportunity for me back in front of my amazing supporters. Sky Sports know just how incredible these fight nights are in Bournemouth and this one will be no different. Zuffa Boxing is all about proper fights under the lights and that’s exactly what Rozicki brings to the table.”

Billam-Smith is 35 and has a 21-2 (13 KOs) record. His last bout was a clear win over Brandon Glanton in April 2025.

The 31-year-old Rozicki, 21-1-1 (20 KOs), appreciates that Billam-Smith represents a hard night’s work.

“It’s a tough fight, and that’s exactly what I wanted when I signed with Zuffa Boxing. I know what he brings, and I respect that. But he hasn’t been in there with someone like me. I’m focused on my work, taking it day by day, and I’ll be ready on fight night. The fans are going to get a real fight.”

Rozicki has struggled with inactivity but is the WBC’s No. 1 contender.

The show will be on Paramount+ in the US and Canada.

Chris Billam-Smith vs Ryan Rozicki to headline Zuffa Boxing’s first UK card

Chris Billam-Smith has his next fight date set.

Zuffa Boxing will host its first card in the United Kingdom on June 6 with Zuffa 07, headlined by a cruiserweight fight between Chris Billam-Smith vs Ryan Rozicki at the Bournemouth International Centre, and airing live on Sky Sports.

“I’m coming home. This is a huge opportunity for me back in front of my amazing supporters. Sky Sports know just how incredible these fight nights are in Bournemouth and this one will be no different,” Billam-Smith said. “Zuffa Boxing is all about proper fights under the lights and that’s exactly what Rozicki brings to the table.”

Rozicki (21-1-1, 20 KOs) is a Canadian fighter without any real big fight experience, but that doesn’t of course completely negate the opportunity for him to rise to the occasion, which he’ll certainly be looking to do. He’s won one fight since having a draw against Yamir Alberto Peralta back in 2024.

Billam-Smith (21-2, 13 KOs) is most recently coming off a unanimous decision win over Brandon Glanton a full year ago, which marked a bounce back into the win column after losing a points decision to Zurdo Ramirez in late 2024.

Rozicki has missed a couple of years due to injury but he does love a tear up, as does Billam Smith.

If I was still in the UK I would definitely go to this. Lovely weekend on the south Coast.

Only two weeks before Garner v Magnessi (spelling). A big month for the region.

Jack Massey vs. Cheavon Clarke confirmed for June 6 in Bournemouth

British cruiserweights Jack Massey and Cheavon Clarke will meet in a 10-rounder on June 6 at Bournemouth International Centre in Bournemouth, England. The contest will serve as the co-feature to the previously announced Zuffa Boxing 07 main event between Chris Billam-Smith and Ryan Rozicki. It will be broadcast live by Paramount+ and, in the UK, by Sky Sports.

Massey, 23-3 (13 KOs), is a former Commonwealth and European champion who was outclassed when stepping up to challenge IBF champion, Jai Opetaia in October 2024. Since then, his only action saw him halt the overmatched Ivan Gabriel Garcia last November.

Clarke, 11-2 (8 KOs), is a former member of Team GB who won silver at the 2017 European Games and a bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He turned pro in 2022 after competing at the Tokyo Olympics and won the British title in his ninth pro bout. The 35-year-old has been outpointed, over 12 rounds, by Leonardo Mosquea and Viddal Riley though he did return to winning ways when he dominated huge underdog Anthony Hollaway at the end of 2025.

“Chev Clarke is a fight that really excites me,” Massey said per the Zuffa Boxing press release. “Everyone loves a domestic clash, and this bout, live on Sky Sports, will propel me right back in the mix for another shot at the world title. Zuffa has a great plan for me, and it all starts here.”

Clarke said, again according to marketing material: “Thank you to my team and Zuffa for getting this over the line. This is a new chapter, and I’m ready to show the best of myself on Sky Sports."

Massey vs. Clarke to co-feature Zuffa Boxing 07 on June 6

Zuffa Boxing continues to invest in the cruiserweight division.

Jack Massey and Cheavon Clarke will meet in the co-main event of Zuffa Boxing 07 on June 6, it was announced on Tuesday, providing chief support to the cruiserweight clash between Ring-ranked contenders Chris Billam-Smith (No. 3) and Ryan Rozicki (No. 6).

The battle between British cruiserweight contenders Massey and Clarke will take place at Bournemouth International Centre in England and broadcast on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland and on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada.

Massey (23-3, 13 KOs) bounced back from a sixth-round stoppage loss to Jai Opetaia in October 2024 last time out in November with a fourth-round knockout of Ivan Gabriel Garcia. Massey entered the encounter against Opetaia off a career-best unanimous decision win over Isaac Chamberlain four months prior. The 33-year-old's only other losses have come against Joseph Parker in 2023 and Richard Riakporhe in 2019, both by unanimous decision.

“Chev Clarke is a fight that really excites me,” Massey said in a statement. “Everyone loves a domestic clash, and this bout will propel me right back in the mix for another shot at the world title. Zuffa has a great plan for me, and it all starts here.”

Clarke (11-2, 8 KOs), a 2020 Olympian, has endured a rocky run of late, losing decisions to Leonardo Mosquea in December 2024 and Viddal Riley in April 2025. The 35-year-old southpaw got back into the win column last time out in December with a fourth-round knockout of Anthony Hollaway.

“This is a new chapter, and I’m ready to show the best of myself," Clarke said in a statement.

Chris Billam-Smith hits back after next opponent Ryan Rozicki insists his Jai Opetaia fight plan is 'a mistake'

Chris Billam-Smith fights Ryan Rozicki on June 6 live on Sky Sports; Rozicki warns Billam-Smith against setting his sights on Jai Opetaia: "If he switches off for a fraction of a second, then he'll be switched off"; Lee Cutler will also box on Bournemouth bill

Chris Billam-Smith is making a mistake by even contemplating a future fight with Jai Opetaia, insists his next opponent Ryan Rozicki.

Rozicki, a fearsome puncher from Nova Scotia, will take on Billam-Smith in the latter's Bournemouth hometown on June 6, live on Sky Sports.

Billam-Smith has openly declared that not only does he expect to beat Rozicki but that he believes victory will lead him to a fight with Jai Opetaia, the fighter generally regarded as the best in the cruiserweight division.

Rozicki has pounced on that declaration from his rival, identifying it as an error on Billam-Smith's part.

"I think it's a mistake. I wouldn't say it's disrespectful because he's getting asked the question, he's answering the question," the Canadian told Sky Sports.

"He's just responding to questions but the way he's responding shows me that they've already got their eyes set on Jai, they already got their eyes set on these bigger fights than me and I don't think you should ever look past somebody like me.

"If he switches off for even a fraction of a second, then he'll be switched off."

Rozicki maintains a singular focus. "I think about the first round against Chris and just landing shots, landing clean shots on his head. Whatever I can hit and just hit him until the fight's over," he said.

Billam-Smith however has already been highly successful. He's previously won British, Commonwealth and European titles as well as the WBO cruiserweight world championship.

He denied making any kind of blunder by targeting Opetaia already. "People believe that talking about future opposition is looking past an opponent. But there's something in psychology where you also need to plan ahead," Billam-Smith told Sky Sports.

"Otherwise that's the end of the road and that's when your brain can shut off because the next fight can then become your last fight because it feels like the last fight, because you don't see anything beyond it."

He added: "I think I've done it my whole career - plan a route and that keeps me even more motivated. Look at the last fight, there was nothing beyond that fight, nothing beyond the [Brandon] Glanton fight, didn't have any plans beyond it so it felt like a nothing fight.

"Whereas this fight leads to something and you can find more from yourself because you've got your eye on something beyond it, or you know there's something beyond.

"Once again it's about compartmentalising that and not talking about that or thinking about that when you don't need to.

"Training for this fight helps me train for the next fight and that's how I see it. It's a constant conveyor belt of training and building myself into the person that can win the next fight, the next fight and the next fight."

Cutler joins Bournemouth bill

Lee Cutler, Zuffa Boxing's latest signing, will make his long-awaited return in a homecoming bout on the June 6 bill at Bournemouth International Centre.

Cutler has a 15-2 (7) record and is 10-0 when fighting in his hometown. He became the English super-welterweight champion at the BIC when he defeated Kingsley Egbunike in 2023.

Following a stirring decision victory against Stephen McKenna, Cutler saw his eight-bout winning streak come to an end last April with a razor-thin technical decision loss to Sam Eggington in another thrilling fight.

Lee Cutler, the latest Zuffa Boxing signing, added to Bournemouth show on June 6

Bournemouth-born middleweight Lee Cutler, Zuffa Boxing’s latest signing, will mark his debut under the promotional outfit in a homecoming against an opponent to be named on Saturday, June 6, at Bournemouth International Centre in England.

Cutler joins the Zuffa Boxing 07 card headlined by a pair of previously announced cruiserweight battles, as Bournemouth’s Chris Billam-Smith takes on Canadian KO artist Ryan Rozicki in the 10-round main event. The all-British co-feature will see longtime contenders Jack Massey and Cheavon Clarke clash in a 10-rounder.

Cutler has an overall professional record of 15-2 (7 KOs) but is 10-0 when fighting in his hometown, including his 2023 English junior middleweight title-winning effort over Kingsley Egbunike at Bournemouth International Centre. Following a stirring decision victory against Stephen McKenna, Cutler saw his eight-bout winning streak come to an end last April with a tight technical decision loss to Sam Eggington.

The card will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland and will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada.

‘They already got their eyes set on these bigger fights’: Ryan Rozicki says Chris Billam-Smith making mistake by looking past him

Chris Billam-Smith has his eyes set on a fight with Jai Opetaia.

As Ryan Rozicki gets his ready for a June 6 fight with Chris Billam-Smith, Rozicki believes his opponent may be making the mistake of looking past the task at hand towards bigger opportunities down the line — namely a potential fight against Jai Opetaia. With Billam-Smith making it known he plans to with this upcoming fight and then target Opetaia, Rozicki says he just might be putting the cart before the horse.

“He’s just responding to questions but the way he’s responding shows me that they’ve already got their eyes set on Jai, they already got their eyes set on these bigger fights than me and I don’t think you should ever look past somebody like me. If he switches off for even a fraction of a second, then he’ll be switched off,” Rozicki said.

Should Rozicki be able to capitalize on this opportunity and beat Billam-Smith, he’ll be the one in line for bigger opportunities to come. That said, Billam-Smith denies the fact that he’s not focused on the upcoming fight and says fielding questions about the future serves as no real distraction as there’s an inherent psychological need to plan ahead.

As Billam-Smith goes on to say, planning for his immediate future helps provide added motivation for what he’s dealing with in the present, and that he can easily compartmentalize the two in order to stay focused. Either way, these two men will meet in the ring in a month from now and they’ll both have the opportunity to prove themselves right.
