Teremoana Jr
Re: Teremoana Jr
Goodall, Ahio or McKean would probably be good next steps for him if he wants a quick fight closer to home.

I'd say that is a very bad sign indeed for the future.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑22 Mar 2025, 18:00 id put it down to him just being lazy due to lack of threat, he was just winging shots in and didnt box like he was facing a serious opponent. after the fight he basically said as much and that he wanted tougher opponents

Re: Teremoana Jr
The question is can they make him a big Aus draw first then go international. He is learning nothing in these fights.
Opelu, vousiti, Kiki, ivic, kris, Dempsey, Goodal, ahio…… that would be a lovely 18 months… thennn you either go huni or international…
There are some good international fights that I’m happy to sprinkle in, but the currant crop is a waste of his time and won’t grow him at all.
I think the lower levle but potential future star Aus headliner is a financially proven path, he isn’t a huni or a tszyu yet… but shit au.

I think big punching Heavies are a different breed from lighter weights.
They don't need to build a home base first as the World loves a big man with a punch.
If there's a highlight reel of him poleaxing a bunch of pudenda then he'll be popular in Vegas or wherever.
He does need to step up the opposition the right way but starting off with a dozen kayos is a smart way to go from a promotional point of view as long as he's getting good sparring in the meantime.

I mean popular enough in Aus to headline. He obviously isn’t a big enough draw yet to get opponents worthy of fighting him…Taansend wrote: ↑24 Mar 2026, 23:15Greg,gregregegg wrote: ↑24 Mar 2026, 19:47 The question is can they make him a big Aus draw first then go international. Long term stardom will be fine if he is good enough. But short term he needs to figure out a way to get decent people in with him and regularly.

Teremoana scores ‘scary knockout’ of Bowie Tupou in 74 seconds
Teremoana Teremoana scored one of the most vicious finishes of the year dismissing Bowie Tupou in stunning fashion with a right uppercut in just 74 seconds.
Teremoana moved in behind straight shots and a right uppercut sent Tupou’s eyes into orbit and stole his legs from beneath him. His back to the ropes, Tupou slumped slowly and grimly to the deck, staring straight up in a ghostly fashion with his head nestoling on the bottom ropes with medics at the Melbourne Pavilion instantly being summoned.
“That was one of the scariest knockouts I’ve seen,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “This guy’s got devastating power. These are the kind of opponents you have to go through on the way to the top. They’re the kind of opponent you hope will give you rounds… This is going to be a huge star. He’s got power in both hands and he’s a giant of a man.”
Hearn said Teremoana could soon fight in Saudi Arabia but he is also keen to keep him active in Australia, starting in July.
“I believe I'm world championship potential... I’m excited to be busy,” said the heavyweight. “I’ve got to earn my stripes. Anyone who steps in the ring, I’ll take them out.”
Teremoana was looking for the right hand around the guard early on and even the ones that Tupou took on the gloves seem to rattle the veteran and it was of little surprise what happened when a clean shot landed. Tupou is now 29-9 (20 KOs) and the 43-year-old will surely consider his options now.
Teremoana is now 11-0 (11 KOs).

Horrible match. Tupou was 43 against one of the best and hardest hitting young prospects.
What were the odds on round 1 ko?
Although Teremoana has shown himself a bit easy to hit, for me he is the future.
Him and Itauma would be the future superfight. I go for Teremoana after seeing Itauma’s legs dip against Franklin from a jab.

i just dont get the matchmaking. this is a guy who shows all type of talent and promise in a huge frame. only rarely does a giant like that punch with the speed and variety he does, plus the obvious power. he beat olympic medalists, accomplished international champs, and hanged with the best in the world as an am, with one of the highest stop rate ive seen for the ams. why the need for the kid gloves when you've got an explosive heavy who looks like he has a lot of the goods? eddie just not got the time for him? been ko'd left and right in sparring or something?
teremoana once said in a post fight interview, straight out, that he was not happy at all with his opposition

That reminds me of when Frazer apologised after a fight for the level of opposition early on.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Apr 2026, 13:54 i just dont get the matchmaking. this is a guy who shows all type of talent and promise in a huge frame. only rarely does a giant like that punch with the speed and variety he does, plus the obvious power. he beat olympic medalists, accomplished international champs, and hanged with the best in the world as an am, with one of the highest stop rate ive seen for the ams. why the need for the kid gloves when you've got an explosive heavy who looks like he has a lot of the goods? eddie just not got the time for him? been ko'd left and right in sparring or something?

He’s ready for a big step up.
Hearn wants him headlining in Aus in Summer against another Aus HW.
He also said there was interest from Saudi.
I feel he may appear on Joshua’s card in July.

demsey mckean or joe goodall would be good steps up + aussie, no reason he shouldnt be fighting that level next

I think there’s probably a bit of merit in an inbetween or 2 such as, opelu or Kiki or ivic or vosutu..: these are a step bellow Goodal and dempsy in risk, but are good enough fights to intrest me as a stand alone, and really should get Teramoa a few rounds.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑01 May 2026, 15:42 demsey mckean or joe goodall would be good steps up + aussie, no reason he shouldnt be fighting that level next

Re: Teremoana Jr
I think that's ybe frustrating thing... the aus scene is one of the best for getting to foght tough guys (mainly thanks to islanders), and aus will support a prospect in those kinda fights. Yet still he is fighting guys that would of been good 2nd or 3rd fight options....margaret thatcher wrote: ↑01 May 2026, 18:02i would certainly take one of them over what he's been fighting so fargregregegg wrote: ↑01 May 2026, 17:00I think there’s probably a bit of merit in an inbetween or 2 such as, opelu or Kiki or ivic or vosutu..: these are a step bellow Goodal and dempsy in risk, but are good enough fights to intrest me as a stand alone, and really should get Teramoa a few rounds.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑01 May 2026, 15:42 demsey mckean or joe goodall would be good steps up + aussie, no reason he shouldnt be fighting that level next

I think the real problem is what's Eddie offering the fighters in the Aussie top five as a pay day. If they take the fight they will almost certainly get ko'd. An Ivic match up for the Aussie tittle could headline a card but if I was Ivic I would want a good pay day because there are lots of other fighters he could beat.

Being him over to the UK.
Some options here.
Or get some boxers from around the world to Aussie
.
You’re gonna have to get ur chequebook out Eddie. People will want to be paid to get KO’d.

I think he should join Zuffa boxing. They have Sirenko, Dychko, Wallin, Ajagba. Sounds like a plan for year or two
