Forgot to set alarm tuned in rd 3 onwards. Benavidez had a aim bot on both defended with their head. Thought ramirez was coming back but suffered to much damage

Just caught the highlights. Benavidez looked excellent but, in true mexican fashion, defends with his head. Zurdo looked like a brawler without power up there. Benavidez's hand speed was as quick as ever which would be a problem for anyone. Hopefully we get Benavidez Vs Bivol, Beterbiev or Canelo.

Had Munguia winning a shut out, thought he was excellent, Resendiz landed some body shots early on that looked dangerous but he faded out and Munguia got better as the fight went on, he showed great variety not just in his punch selection but he lead and countered, he was on his toes then he would lay on the ropes, even on the ropes Resendiz was ineffective, just couldn't land enough to get to Munguia who put his shots together well, dug into the body, landed that left hook time and again, it was a bit of a schooling truth be told, career best performance, he hurt Resendiz in the last round as well to seal the deal, Resendiz a tough hombre

The power and hand speed of Benavidez up at cruiser is still phenomenal, the speed especially is frightening, the way he puts his combinations together, Ramirez just couldn't deal with it, from the 1st he was taking clean shots and they sounded hard, Ramirez did land but they never had the same snap and didn't effect Benavidez

Ramirez has a great chin but round 4 he got hurt and was taking hard punches before a rapid combination had him down, Ramirez had a good 5th, showed his stones but Benavidez stayed calm and got him out of there in the 6th, again a rapid fire combo caught Ramirez flush and he took the knee, his eye looked Fckd

The Opatei fight has to be made asap. That would be huge.

It's impossible to look at next level cruisers without having one eye to the heavyweights.

Plus I'd love to see Huni v Nyika at some stage

Benevidez is putting nasty beatdowns on people.

He shellacked Zurdo in there, just like Yarde.

Shows how well Morrell did as that fight was somewhat close in parts

What is his best weight? I'd say Light Heavy weight bully, rather than Cruiser.

Did I just see a Mexican quit?

Danny D and Kell B have been vilified for doing the same. Don't blame Zurdo, that must have been agony getting smashed on that eye, but spade a spade, the guy went down to stop taking punishment and didnt want to get up ie: he quit

I don't think the boxing world will treat him too harshly though. Hope not.

Yeah, I don’t think any of them should be criticised. Brave performance from Zurdo, I thought, kept bringing it despite being out-gunned. But you are definitely right about the double standard.

Although, I think a lot of the time the ‘quitting’ is brought up by potential opponents and their teams (e.g. Crawford with Brook, Parker with Dubois) and it’s all part of the tactic. But not always the case, obviously (e.g., Frampton and Saunders with Dubois).

NO Has soon has that punch landed i said to my son He.s gone the sockets gone you could see where it landed and blew up instantly . I,ve had the excact same injury and believe me its instant closure of the eye . You certainly would.nt want to be fighting a super fast hard hitter with it .plus it was.nt the only pujnch he took its just the one that finished him

Benavidez seemed to land at least 2 elbows in that last flurry. But he battered Ramirez all over the shop for most of the fight. Impressive

I hate sloppy reporting.

If you're getting paid to report on Boxing, do a good job.

BS said that was the first time that Ramirez has been knocked down but on Boxrec it says he was knocked down back in 2011. It's not that hard to research. Or is Boxrec wrong?

And this line But that was before Saturday night’s main event at T-Mobile Arena, where Benavidez became the first man in the sport’s long history to collect a major belt at 168, 175 and 200lbs

Those belts haven't been around in the "Sports long history" so how, the f*ck, could anyone else have won them?

Super-middleweight & Cruiserweight are younger than Manny Pacquiao - who IS STILL FIGHTING!!!

Bob Fitzsimmons (criminally underrated) won the Middleweight version against Jack Dempsey at 150 pounds, then the Heavyweight title weighing 167 & years later won the brand new Light Heavyweight title.

Do we just ignore him & his achievements? Or do we pretend divisions that are younger than Rappers Delight encompass "Boxings Long History"?

Rant over.

He never won a world at 200 but that’s impressive right?

The article did say "Major" belts so I don't know what that includes.

The WBO was a bit of a joke belt in the USA in the 90s. But it's a major belt now.
