UBIQUITOUSLY VOCIFEROUS

Post by Bard of Boxrec »

I decided it's time this much underused phrase is given the honour of its own thread. In this thread give examples of those who always showed tendencies for ubiquitous vociferity.

I would say a peak Tyson is candidate #1

some good quotes, but which of that crew were ubiquitously vociferous. I'd say churchill was more peripherally loquacious. zab judah is a good one.

To my mind the OG: the one who showed vociferity above and beyond the call of duty, was the original giant slayer Jack Dempsey.

Tyson himself has many times openly spoke of his admiration for Dempsey's killer instinct and vociferous nature in fights.

Dempsey by over whelming fusilade of heavy punches.

Fvcking hell MW how did you post all that up so quickly.

Don King must be top of the boxing list. James toney has a claim in the P4P stakes also.

Perhaps this should be put up as a sticky and candidates for the title be awarded on a weekly basis.

i like! Although Don King can be too gracious to be ubiquitously vociferous. he's more temporamentally vociferous.

To make the prestigious claim one has to fulfil both components. Here's a thought- how many pure boxers have been ubiquitously vociferous? Normally the tag is applied to vicious punchers, no?

Hows about Joe Calzaghe for the claim 'only losers win'.

Sounded vociferous to me, but perhaps not ubiquitously so. Afterall he is in a marginal sport.

Sonny Liston's brooding temperament, surly nature and underworld connections have to make him a contender, surely?

I have got it.

The winner has to be the mArrickville Mauler.

Jeff Fenech.

Despite lacking one punch power his bitterness and whirlwind style put his right up there.

Look at this first fight with Azumah Nelson. Despite putting forth 12 briliant rounds of pressure, he still had enough spite left in him to be disgusted with the decision and show his displeasure on live TV.

His love of KO'ing bouncers who outweighed him by 100lbs, combined with all the mischief he regularly gets up to down under, put him in pole position in my eyes.

Don't know about the badass bit, but the fella has a mouth that can engulf the Earth's mantle, which is awesome in its ubiquitousness and he is most certainly vociferous. :o

The clincher for me came in the gym showdown between Fenech and Toney during the Danny Green spar.

In this verbal clash between these two uniquely vociferous characters, it was Toney who threatened to (and never did) go and get his gun.

In my mind, between two 3 weight boxing champs, a threat to use a fire arm can be viewed as a verbal submission.

Fenech by a nose.

What about Anthony Mundine. He hasn't always chosen his words too carefully in the media.

Ubiquitous = being or seeming to be everywhere.
Vociferous = loud and forceful.

Gentlemen there can only be one winner. Step forward Mr Don King.
