Wardley just shows how far will to win, determination, fitness, heart, chin, power and desire can get you even with limited ability. Most of those attributes can’t be taught

No matter what, nobody will ever be able to question his heart that's for damn sure.Controversial wrote: ↑10 May 2026, 13:53 Wardley just shows how far will to win, determination, fitness, heart, chin, power and desire can get you even with limited ability. Great fight, shortened the careers of both, esp Wardley.

Hahaha, yeah it was British title fight level that you had to PPV.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑09 May 2026, 20:35 Im sorry, but selling this as s great fight is horseshite.
Entertaining, but just a slug fest that should have been stopped a little earlier. Daniel wasn't any better than he was with Uysk, who is at world level.

It went the opposite way most saw it. Daniel early on or Fabio late. What a fight. I worry about Wardley’s nose is that something you can have surgery to remedy?
I was so happy for Chelli, such a humble fella, 100 to 1 against and he did it. And on short notice. What a fella. His Pa’s love for him and belief in him is so nice to see. I hope he gets a huge payday from this.
Who do people he’ll fight next? Do Queensberry have options on him or a contract with him now?
Jalolov was underwhelming he fights like he’s built for 3s.

If you watched this, and saw it as anything BUT a great fight I don't know how you're a Boxing fan honestly. If you can't appreciate a fight like this, what can you appreciate?KiwiRider wrote: ↑10 May 2026, 14:58Hahaha, yeah it was British title fight level that you had to PPV.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑09 May 2026, 20:35 Im sorry, but selling this as s great fight is horseshite.

It was a scrap.
A good scrap.
Not a technically good fight.
And it went on for few rounds longer than it needed.
But yeh, it was a very good scrap.
Hardly a great boxing match

I wouldn’t say it was great, entertaining yes but it got to a stage where it was becoming a hard watch as Wardley was just getting beaten up. It was a fight where you couldn’t write either man off from stopping the other so it was fun for several rounds. Wardley didn’t show anything different though, the definition of a one trick pony that just kept throwing one big right hand and invariably missing with it. Fair play to Dubois as he showed grit and powered through. Dubois is a handful for anyone not named Usyk.

So that’s how good it was

100% the fight should have been stopped
You cant go to the well like that too often
If it is true then hes no business being a cornerman, wtf was he doing, watching TikTok?
Utter utter rubbish.

I think Fabio's first fight against Frazier Clark was more entertaining, and stylistically better.gilgamesh wrote: ↑10 May 2026, 15:32If you watched this, and saw it as anything BUT a great fight I don't know how you're a Boxing fan honestly. Don't get me wrong, neither Dubois or Wardley have been in boring fights, I like watching both, but it wasn't a world title fight level, it was a top domestic.
Re: Round-by-Round: Fabio Wardley vs. Daniel Dubois | PPV - 9 May 2026
It wasn't World Title level it was Domestic level. So you're saying that because you don't think these guys are legitimate World Champions or Top 5 contenders for some reason then it wasn't a Great fight on that basis. The knockdowns, The drama, the blood, the rallying back from the brink of defeat, the toughness to keep taking devastating punch after devastating punch...but it wasn't good because they weren't World Class?
I don't know man. I don't get it.
Usyk is the Undisputed Champion in my eyes so the WBO Belt is fairly inconsequential in the Grand Scheme of things, but Dubois vs Wardley being a great fight certainly cannot be argued.
If that wasn't a great fight to you. Then I'd legit like to know what in your opinion are the 5 greatest fights you've seen. Because we must just be looking for different things out of what we consider a great fight to be.

Ben Davison
“I actually agree the fight could have [sic] been stopped earlier. I did not see Fabio stumble before walking over to the doctor at the start of round ten.
“As ironically we were discussing with each other to ‘have the towel in hand’ by which time he had gone over and seen the doctor and seemed much steadier on his legs, which is what we saw.
It’s such a difficult job to not only find a balance but to strike at the right time to stop a fight like that on a whim when your guy is responsive and firing back.
“I’ve been praised for not towelling Tyson Fury (vs Deontay Wilder). I was praised for not towelling Leigh Wood (vs Michael Conlan). I was firstly criticised then later praised for towelling Wood (vs Mauricio Lara).
“Two occasions we looked at it but 1) the end of the round came 2) Fabio fired back and killed Dubois’ momentum. Again very difficult in the circumstances of the fighter being responsive and firing back.
“I’ve seen mixed opinions on this one but I agree it COULD of been stopped earlier. However with that said I think Howard Foster got it bang on from his terms.”

By today’s standards It was certainly a thrilling heavyweight spectacle while it was playing out, for several rounds it seemed like anything could happen. I don’t think Wardley landed nearly enough though, for it to be rated up there with the best fights ever.gilgamesh wrote: ↑10 May 2026, 20:31 It wasn't World Title level it was Domestic level. Boxercise Ben has managed to align himself with good fighters . Built a bullshit reusme on the hard work of other trainers when they have done well which some have its been becuase they have had years of experience elswhere and only really needed him to wash his mouth guard and give them a drink . Serious question Who has he trained .who was,nt an established top fighter before going to him . Including top ameteurs . Dont come bavk and say so and so who wad an intetnational aba champ ameteur and under him has fought a couple of handpicked fights i mean what lads has he brought along from start till now . That fight should of been stopped or looked hard at around 7 maybee 8 but you could be forgiven even then gor giving Fab a chance a punchers chance only . But rnd 8 or 9 on anyone with expetience could see Fab was never gonna do it swinging like a barn door hurt .no enegy stumbling , but above all for me the most criyical part NO LEFT HAND has.nt he ever been taught a left hook a jab, a hook off thre jab a left rip to the body . Alls he gad was a swi ging right hand blind freddy could see coming . Thats why he never landed fook all the whole fight . He also had a trainer who was willing to let him get seriously hurt hoping he would land a hail mary and elevste them both to god status .. Disgraceful How the fook Boxercise gets these good fighters to go to him has got me stuffed. Lets see how long it takes him to foook up Moses

It was similar to Wilder/Chisora, but with added brutality.
Wilder and Chisora are washed, whereas Fabio Wardley has zero technical ability and Dubois excels in tear-ups.

Rematches are a plague in boxing. We want the next fella to have a go!
Wardley needs a nice long rest and Dubois' next fight should be a different challenger - and it should be Kabayel. What more does that poor guy have to do?

Exactly.
Kabayel has been frozen out of the title picture unjustly.
He is the outstanding contender in the division and he can't catch a break, because of all these rematch clauses, champions fighting kickboxers and alphabet boys stripping undisputed champions and giving their belt to fighters who aren't half as good as him.

Holyfield v Bowe 1 and 2, and maybe 3. Foreman v Lyle. Marciano v Walcott and Ezzard Charles. There are plenty more, just a few off the top of my head.
Castillo V corralles, Gatti v Ward, Pintor v Gomez, there are countless better fights at world class/contender levels with far more back and forth and dramatic swings. The first Mosley v DLH, The first two Morales and Barrera fights, Leonard v Hearns 1, Morales v Pacquaio 1 and 2. There are hordes of better fights
This fight had drama, but at least 4 rounds was just watching a man getting bludgeoned to bits and lurching around the ring, nothing edifying or wonderful about that.
Dubois was never really close to being stopped, they were flash knock downs, it's being well overyped this fight,
