He’s a big unit and a tough prospect for Itauma, but I reckon Moses is sat somewhere right now thinking I’m breaking this guy down for sure.
Itauma's the heavy favourite, but Hrg usually fights with a wide, leaky guard like Pulev, both relying on toughness to soak up what comes through, and here against Allen I thought he was defensively tighter for a change. Allen's Fisher plan of digging to the body to clear the path upstairs got him nowhere.
And despite historically poor stamina Hrg's durable, both questions yet to be answered by Itauma. Hrg's maybe the safest way of getting him there.
Itauma is not ready for Hrgovic.
I have to say, Dubois smashed up AJ and Wardley, yet he had to headbutt Hrgovic into a stoppage where he was eating punches. Are we gonna just forget that? I make Hrgovic a live dog in a rematch.
Hrg also stood up to punches from the best version of Zhang, who wrecked Joe Joyce. Joyce gets completely written off now, but he was legit top 10 at one point.
Hrgovic is a massive step up for Itauma.

Yh rematch was more one sided that the first fight.
Probably because the first fight wasn’t one sided.
It wasn't one sided, and watching it live I had it very close. Watching it back, it was a clear points win for Usyk with some awkward mid rounds and Usyk was robbed of a stoppage if we're being objective and honest.

The other thing is, Hrgovic took the DDD at short notice and didn't have a full camp. Fully prepared, I make him a favourite against Itauma. Moses hasn't fought anyone who's gonna push the pace like Hrgovic. Something very telling happened after the first round of Itauma's last fight, when he told Ben Davison the pace was too fast. If I'm I'm Hrgovic, I hear that as, 'Moses can't fight at that pace.

It's quite interesting for me cos I considered Hrg overrated when he was touted as a champion in waiting, but I'm also dubious about Itauma's ability to recover when someone finally nails him.
I've this nagging doubt he's Wardley in reverse, and if so, one loss could 'Ruiz' his form. As long as he's brimming with confidence he'll knock over most dudes like wonky skittles.
You know what Dave Allen deserves his props! He stepped in there with a legit world level heavyweight. This was a step too far in levels. I remember everyone saying he should have retired years ago when he was on the small hall circuits struggling to sell ticket and everyone was saying he should never box again. Too now headlining his home town. He’s a home town hero and deserves respect and to have the bottle to put it all on the line. He will forever be proud of his career when he grows old! Changed his life and earn’t a lot of money after being ripped off earlier in his career in some fights. Fair play Dave Allen not your night but you should be proud

Itauma has plenty of talent. I'm shocked that the biggest promoters in the UK have Davison as their go-to trainer for heavyweights. Was Fury's story about getting Davison to get some birds' phone numbers and he'd make him famous just made up? If Moses succeeds, it won't be because he has Ben in the corner it will be because of natural talent. I'd be more confident with someone like Shane McGuigan and Andy Lee in his corner. What's Davison's special sauce that he has over other trainers?

I think Ben's a good trainer, but a terrible cornerman. Does that make sense?
Been out tonight so only just saw the “highlights” on Twitter. Looked an embarrassing difference in class, no real surprise but disappointing nonetheless.

What round will smith say respect in first. Bet now
When are bringing out the Adam Smith Drinking Game?
Someone make some bingo cards for the next time he is on.
I got the quotes:
“there’s the respect”
“This is what boxing’s all about!”
“We’ve got a fight on our hands!”
“He’s digging deep now”
“Toe-to-toe!”
“It’s all on the line tonight”
“A chess match early on”
“The atmosphere is electric!”
“Styles make fights”
“This could go either way”
“He’s hurt him there!”
“All the talk is over”
“It’s heating up now” **FREE SPACE**
“They’re trading leather!”
“What a response!”
“Can he recover?”
“He’s on unsteady legs”
“This is turning into a war”
“The drama continues!”
“He’s biting down on the gumshield”
“Pure theatre!”
“He’s got to let his hands go”
“A test of heart and will”
“He’s come to fight tonight”
“Edge-of-your-seat stuff!”
“Barrera and Morales!”
Or take a shot when he says any of them
How could you forget, "He just had a little look over at the corner there"
Short but tough night for Allen, got a hiding in there, still a hard bastard took his lumps but those wild overhand rights were no good, Hrgovic pieced him up with the jab, that was like a back hand, his body work was excellent and the right hands couldn't miss, even the ones that landed back of the head still do serious damage, Allen probably could've been down more than once, he takes a hell of a shot, to the body as well, corner got the stoppage bang on, Allen was on the ropes, not throwing back and taking a pasting, Allen looked tiny in comparison, he was always on a hiding to nothing

Crazy how you can read every single quote in his voice.
if history is any indicator, dave allen will be right back in with a guy far too good for him, with small but still far too larged minority making rationalizations as to why he might do well this time.

I am Dave’s number 1 “he might do well this time” guy, but even I knew this one was dumb. I think it was his single worst match up. Mabey even worse than Usyk… although Mabey not.
Hopfuly he goes get a couple of sub area levle 6 rounders then picks an opponent with some feezable path to victory…
Terrible performance from Dave. Character can’t outdo living poorly then somehow grifting everyone that you’ve done one camp right so it’ll all come together at 34.
Clearly a nice man. But there are people who work full time and fight and still put more into it than Dave. He’s had a good living from boxing. Fair play.
I’d rather someone like Harvey Dykes gets a chance now. I respect that type of character more than a caricature.
That was like watching a 50 year old bloke, who could ruck a bit as a youth, having a brawl outside a pub with a highly trained 25 year old squaddie - who was taking it easy on the drunken old sod.
Wasn't really sport was it. People complain about Jake Paul but the only reason Dave Allen was the main event last night against a proper opponent was because of his media profile.
All of this 'character over talent' boxing is boring. I want to watch a fight, not a dog and pony show. At least Gomez v McGregor was real.

It was disappointing.
Not even a good stay busy for Hrg, he needs second tier guys.

I’d like to see more Am trainers take their fighters into the pro ranks like O Doherty last night.
