The East end has always been a melting pot, while traditionally white immigrants, none were local, then the immigrants were mainly non white, now many of the immigrants are posh hipsters.

My mrs was with the other march, said both were fairly small crowds compared to other events. Nobody was expecting a massive turnout.

If the mainstream political parties actually did something about immigration they'd cut the ground out from underneath Reform, which would be good. It would also improve the lot of the British people, which is no small matter either.
