Honestly I doubt this fight changes much from what actually happened when they fought. They both would've been better versions of themselves in 1979, but the style matchup is going to produce a pretty similar fight.

I really wanted to see Roberto Duran fight Pipino Cuevas first in '79, and then unify the welterweight crown with Sugar Ray Leonard in '80.

This fight back in '79 was the dream fight that the fans, especially the Latino boxing fans, were waiting for. It would have been a fight with lots of fireworks! Still, I would have picked Duran by knockout in 10 rounds in a crowd pleasing slugfest. People would leave with their money's worth.

Either in New York City or Los Angeles, it would have been a treat!
