Cheyenne Hanson will challenge Amanda Serrano on May 30

Less than 24 hours after her deal with Most Valuable Promotions was announced, Cheyenne Hanson’s first world title opportunity has been announced.

The German contender will face WBO/WBA featherweight champion Amanda Serrano on May 30 as part of the card at the County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas, which is headlined by the WBA lightweight title rematch between Stephanie Han and Holly Holm. The show will air live on ESPN.

Serrano, 48-4-1 (31 KOs), of Carolina, Puerto Rico has held a version of the women’s featherweight title since 2019, and last fought in January, defeating the previously unbeaten Reina Tellez by unanimous decision in San Juan. “When MVP told me that Han and Holm were going to rematch in Stephanie’s home town of El Paso, I said I want to get on the card to support these two queens,” Serrano, 37, said in a press release.

“I respect every opponent who steps in the ring, and I know Hanson is coming to win and she has KO power. I’m also continuing to hunt the all-time knockout record, so that’s always on my mind, but everything starts with discipline, execution, and performing at the highest level on fight night.”

Hanson, 17-2 (13 KOs), of Augsburg, Germany has won nine straight over the past five years but is stepping way up in competition. She last fought a month ago, defeating Flor Rodriguez by sixth-round stoppage in Bosnia.

“It means a lot to be representing Germany on this stage. Training camp is going to be hard but I’m focused. I respect my opponent, but I’m coming to make a statement,” said Hanson in an interview.

MVP announced two other title fights for the main card. Desley Robinson, 11-3 (4 KOs), of Logan City, Australia will defend the IBF and WBO middleweight titles against former WBA junior middleweight champ Mary Spencer, 10-3 (6 KOs), of Montreal, while Lourdes Juarez, 39-4 (5 KOs), of Mexico City will defend her WBC junior flyweight title against Yokasta Valle, 34-3 (10 KOs), of Costa Rica.

“I need a big win on a big stage against a big opponent and that is what I’m going to do. I can’t wait to get back over to Texas again,” said Robinson, who last defended her belts in Texas, stopping Logan Holler in two rounds in October.

Spencer is fighting for the first time since losing her title in a unification bout with Mikaela Mayer in October.

“I didn’t come this far to admire champions. Respect, yes. Admire, no! I came to take everything they have,” said Spencer. “Belts don’t intimidate me. They motivate me. But on fight night, it’s not about rankings, records, or titles. It’s about who’s willing to go to a darker place. And I promise you… I live there.”

Juarez, the younger sister of former champion Mariana Juarez, is making the third defense of her title, having last fought in October, defeating Yesica Nery Plata by majority decision. Valle, the current WBC strawweight champion, has won titles in three divisions and is looking to add a fourth.

“I won’t give away my belt, no way. I’m preparing for the fight of my life. I won’t go down. I don’t believe in good luck. I will go out there blasting," said Juarez.

“I’ve always wanted the biggest challenges and to fight the best,” said Valle. “Moving up in weight to challenge a champion for her title is exactly the kind of opportunity that motivates me. This is a big challenge, just like every important fight I’ve had in my career, but I always prepare myself 200 percent to give everything I have in the ring.”

Amanda Serrano vs Cheyenne Hanson set to co-headline May 30 MVPW card

Amanda Serrano returns to action this spring in Texas.

Today Most Valuable Promotions have officially announced an MVPW-03 card set for May 30, which will feature Amanda Serrano (48-4-1, 31 KOs) returning to the ring to take on Cheyenne Hanson (17-2, 13 KOs) in a featherweight unification in El Paso, Texas. The card will stream live on ESPN and also be headlined by a fight between Stephanie Han and Holly Holm.

Serrano, who is most recently coming off a decision win over Reina Tellez this past January, shared some of her thoughts on this outing via a press release.

“When MVP told me that Han and Holm were going to rematch in Stephanie’s home town of El Paso, I said I want to get on the card to support these two queens,” said Amanda Serrano. “Women’s boxing is growing on a global level, and fights like this, now on ESPN and contested in three-minute rounds, are proof of how far we’ve come. I respect every opponent who steps in the ring, and I know Hanson is coming to win and she has KO power.

“I’m also continuing to hunt the all-time knockout record, so that’s always on my mind, but everything starts with discipline, execution, and performing at the highest level on fight night. Stephanie Han is all class, and it is my pleasure to come to her city and make the walk before her on Saturday, May 30th. See you soon El Paso.”

Hanson, for her part, expresses her excitement for this opportunity on a big, televised stage.

“I’m really excited and grateful for this fight,” said Cheyenne Hanson. “It means a lot to be representing Germany on this stage. Training camp is going to be hard but I’m focused. I respect my opponent, but I’m coming to make a statement.”

Amanda Serrano return, Han-Holm rematch confirmed for May 30

Most Valuable Promotions will present a world title quadruple-header on May 30 at the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas, on ESPN, it was announced on Tuesday.

In what is being billed as a double main event, Amanda Serrano (48-4-1, 31 KOs) will defend her featherweight titles against Cheyenne Hanson (17-2, 13 KOs), and Stephanie Han and Holly Holm will square off in a rematch following Han’s seventh-round technical decision win in January.

Additionally, Desley Robinson (11-3, 4 KOs) will defend her unified middleweight titles against Mary Spencer (10-3, 6 KOs), and Yokasta Valle (34-3, 10 KOs) aims to win another world title by taking on WBC 108-pound titleholder Lourdes Juarez (39-4, 5 KOs).

“When MVP told me that Han and Holm were going to rematch in Stephanie’s hometown of El Paso, I said I want to get on the card to support these two queens,” Serrano said in a statement.

“Women’s boxing is growing on a global level, and fights like this, now on ESPN and contested in three-minute rounds, are proof of how far we’ve come. I respect every opponent who steps in the ring, and I know Hanson is coming to win, and she has KO power.

“I’m also continuing to hunt the all-time knockout record, so that’s always on my mind, but everything starts with discipline, execution, and performing at the highest level on fight night.”

MVP announced a media rights partnership with ESPN last month to showcase its deep roster of female fighters and debuted with MVPW-01 on Sunday in London.

The promotional company’s next event is set for April 17 at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York, as unified junior lightweight champion Alycia Baumgardner headlined the event by taking on Bo Mi Re Shin.

MVP announce full undercard supporting Stephanie Han-Holly Holm II

Most Valuable Promotions have announced the full undercard for MVPW-03 on May 30, which is led by Stephanie Han-Holly Holm II and Amanda Serrano-Cheyenne Hanson.

Han and Holm, at El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas, will contest the WBA lightweight title and Serrano and Hanson the WBA and WBO featherweight titles.

Desley Robinson had already been matched at middleweight against Mary Spencer, and the WBC junior-flyweight champion Lourdes Juarez against Yokasta Valle.

The full undercard, it has since been confirmed, features the eight-round light-flyweight contest between Yesica Nery Plata and Brook Sibrian, an eight-round fight at 126lbs for Reina Tellez, an eight-round date at lightweight between Miranda Reyes and Camilla Panatta, a six-round flyweight fight between Jocelyn Camarillo and Yazmin Martinez, Iyana “Roxy” Verduzco fighting over eight rounds against an opponent to be confirmed at 126lbs, and Elise Soto fighting an opponent to be confirmed over eight rounds, also at the featherweight limit of 126lbs.

There will also be an eight-round middleweight fight between Alexis “Chop Chop” Chaparro and Edward Ulloa, a six-round match-up at junior featherweight between Alexander “The Alley Cat” Gueche and Joshua Montoya, Nazarena Romero fighting against an opponent to be confirmed over eight rounds at junior featherweight, and a junior-welterweight contest between Albina Moldazhanova and Claudia Herrera, fought over six rounds.

“This event is the embodiment of everything we set out to build with MVPW and El Paso is the perfect home for it as this event will be 100 per cent sold out,” said MVP’s Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul in a joint statement. “Two top-10 pound-for-pound fighters and four world-title fights with Amanda Serrano, Stephanie Han, Holly Holm, Desley Robinson, Lourdes Juarez, and Yokasta Valle all sharing the same card.

“Beyond the main event, you have Mexico’s top contender Yesica Nery Plata returning as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, Reina Tellez’s first fight since her inspirational performance against Amanda Serrano, Miranda Reyes stepping up again after testing two world champions, Elise Soto, Alexis Chaparro, and Alexander Gueche continuing to climb, and the promotional debuts of Jocelyn Camarillo and Roxy Verduzco.”

Han vs Holm 2: Ten bouts added to MVPW-03 card

Yesica Nery Plata, Reina Tellez, and Miranda Reyes, among others, join MVPW-03 in El Paso, Texas

Ten new bouts have been announced for the MVPW-03 card, featuring Yesica Nery Plata, Reina Tellez, and Miranda Reyes, among others. The event, headlined by the rematch between Stephanie Han and Holly Holm, airs live on ESPN and ESPN App on May 30 from the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas.

Mexico’s former title challenger Yesica Nery Plata (30-3, 3 KOs) faces Brook Sibrian (9-2, 4 KOs) of Montebello, California, in an eight-round light flyweight bout.

----------------

- Plata returns to the ring after dropping a decision to reigning WBC light flyweight champion Lourdes Juarez last October at MVP 16.

- Sibrian is coming off a decision victory over Gloria Munguilla last December, marking her fourth win in a row.

Former title challenger Reina Tellez (13-1-1, 5 KOs) steps through the ropes in an eight-round featherweight bout.

- The Vero Beach, Florida, native looks to bounce back from her first career defeat in January, when she lost a decision to Amanda Serrano.

- An opponent for Tellez is expected to be announced shortly.

El Paso’s Miranda Reyes (8-3-1, 3 KOs) takes on Camilla Panatta (8-3-1, 1 KO) of Italy in an eight-round lightweight bout.

- Reyes defeated Yolanda Vega by decision last October, rebounding from defeats against Han and Caroline Dubois.

- Panatta suffered a decision defeat against Dubois in her previous bout last December.

In other MVPW-03 bouts

- Jocelyn Camarillo (6-0, 1 KO) of Indio, California, faces Mexico’s Yazmin Martinez (3-3-2, 1 KO) in a six-round light flyweight matchup.

- Puerto Rico’s Alexis Chaparro (7-0, 6 KOs) and Edward Ulloa (15-7, 12 KOs) of the Dominican Republic square off in an eight-round middleweight battle.

- A six-round super bantamweight bout pits Alexander Gueche (11-0, 7 KOs) of Harbor City, California, against Joshua Montoya (7-4-2) of Lubbock, Texas.

- Albina Moldazhanova (3-0, 3 KOs) and Mexico’s Claudia Fernanda Herrera Lopez (5-6-1, 2 KOs) meet in a six-round super lightweight bout.

- Iyana Verduzco (7-0, 1 KO) of San Fernando, California, and Elise Soto (10-0, 9 KOs) of New York are in action in separate eight-round featherweight bouts, and Argentina’s Nazarena Romero (14-1-2, 8 KOs) is in an eight-round super bantamweight bout.

Opponents for Verduzco, Soto, and Romero, along with the finalized MVPW-03 card, are expected to be announced shortly.

Reina Tellez faces Juliana Basualdo on Han vs Holm 2 undercard

Tellez returns after defeat to Amanda Serrano, while Basualdo aims for her second win in a row

Reina Tellez returns to the ring on May 30 to face Juliana Vanesa Basualdo on the undercard of Stephanie Han vs Holly Holm 2. The event takes place at the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas, marking the third edition of MVPW. The bout is scheduled for eight rounds.

Previously announced for the prelims, Tellez (13-1-1, 5 KOs) of Vero Beach, Florida looks to rebound from a loss.

The San Antonio-based contender suffered her first career defeat in January, when she unsuccessfully challenged Amanda Serrano for her unified WBA and WBO featherweight titles, falling short by unanimous decision.

The contest saw the 23-year-old making her first attempt to become a champion in a short-notice fight as a replacement for Erika Cruz.

“Facing Amanda Serrano taught me more in one fight than I could have imagined,” Tellez said. “Stepping into that moment as a late replacement forced me to grow mentally and professionally. I learned the importance of preparation at the championship level, staying composed under pressure, and believing in myself regardless of the circumstances. Even in defeat, I gained experience that will help shape the rest of my career.”

Stepping through the ropes next Saturday in El Paso, Tellez takes on Argentina’s Basualdo (14-7, 3 KOs), who targets her second win in a row.

In her previous outing last November, Basualdo knocked out Lucrecia Belen Arrieta in the second round of their super bantamweight bout.

With the victory, the 35-year-old bounced back from a split decision loss to Mikiah Kreps in her U.S. debut a month earlier.
“There’s always something special about fighting in Texas,” Tellez said. “The support, the culture, and the energy from the fans make it feel personal. This is where so much of my journey has taken place, and to come back here after a fight like the Serrano bout means a lot to me. I’m excited to show everyone how much I’ve grown.”

“A strong win here keeps me moving forward toward bigger fights and another world title opportunity. I’m still learning, still improving, and still hungry. The Serrano fight gave me confidence that I belong on that level, and now it’s about continuing to build and proving I belong with the best. I know Basualdo will be coming with everything she’s got, and I’ll be ready.”

In the main event, El Paso’s Stephanie Han (12-0, 3 KOs) defends her WBA lightweight title in a rematch against former boxing and UFC champion Holly Holm (34-3-3, 9 KOs) of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In the co-feature, Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano (48-4-1, 31 KOs) defends her unified WBA and WBO featherweight titles against Germany’s Cheyenne Hanson (17-2, 13 KOs).

Holly Holm hopes to ride Stephanie Han rematch to showdowns with Ronda Rousey, Katie Taylor

Holly Holm still has a chance to become the first International Boxing Hall of Fame member to capture another world title. She still has the opportunity to defeat Stephanie Han. And she can still produce the never-before-done boxing-UFC-boxing triple crown of titles.

The looming questions for her are if those accomplishments can land her either an MMA rematch against Ronda Rousey, or a high-profile showdown versus unified super-lightweight boxing champion Katie Taylor.

The timing of Holm’s Saturday rematch versus WBA women’s lightweight champion Han 12-0 (3 KOs) is sublime given that her famed 2015 opponent Rousey just emerged from a scintillating comeback victory by her patented armbar two weeks ago versus Gina Carano.

Although Rousey pretty strongly maintained she is retiring to a family life in Southern California, the fact that she performed so sharply and also fights for Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions makes the notion of a Rousey-Holm rematch impossibly tempting to consider.

“I have always said yes to a rematch with her. It's always been on the table,” Holm told BS Tuesday.

Holm, 44, was asked: You would return to the MMA cage to fight Rousey?

“Absolutely,” she responded following Holm’s 2015 second-round knockout of then-bantamweight champion Rousey in Australia. “I have always said I would rematch her. In the cage. Anywhere.”

Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said recently he will let Rousey decide if she’d like to take the Holm fight following the success of 17 million global streams of the Carano bout on Netflix.

Obviously, the Rousey-Holm rematch would exceed that, but Bidarian said he’s not going to pitch Rousey on the fight based only on the finances it can generate.

And Holm said, she too, views a second fight through the lens of competition at its highest level.

“From the minute that the last fight was over, I said I would. It's just, we never [did] … nobody ever had an answer, never a yes or anything,” Holm said.

Rousey fought once more in the UFC after losing to Holm, and was defeated by Amanda Nunes, but then quickly became the first woman inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018.

“I've always still said yes – if she wants a rematch. I’ll always feel that, you know, anybody who’s a champion – especially a dominant champion like her – should always have a right to be able to fight for their belt back and I have that respect.”

Holm watched Rousey-Carano and said she was pleased to see Rousey perform how she did, a throwback showing in which she finished Carano in 17 seconds.

“It just shows how good she is at [MMA], and how quick she still is,” Holm said. “I didn't doubt that she could do that.

“I wanted Gina to be able to go out there and throw some punches after all the time off and I know that she put a lot of time into it. And then when it's cut short like that, you hoped she could’ve done more, but it's one of those things where some people may say, ‘Oh, Ronda was overrated.’

“No, she's really good at what she does. I was just able to stop her from it because anybody I fight, I want to do well because then it looks better on me.”

Holm said the fact that she had left behind a boxing career as a two-division champion to join the UFC and then fight Rousey nearly 11 years ago has built up some acceptance to chase “my own journey” while remaining open to the thought of a second meeting.

“Whatever Ronda wants to do, more power to her, you know?” Holm said.

Holm believes the Rousey rematch has legs whether she defeats or loses to Han, an El Paso, Texas, police officer and mother of two who lands a hometown fight Saturday on ESPN.

In their first bout, on January 3 in Puerto Rico, Han won by technical-decision scores of 69-65, 68-65, 69-64 after the champion suffered a forehead cut from an accidental headbutt.

Holm performed so crisply in her June 2025 boxing return bout, sweeping the scorecards versus Yolanda Vega, that her struggles against Han surprised.

“I feel a lot more focused and have a better game plan. Not that I wasn't told the right things from my team – my team always has the right things to tell me – I just didn't really execute the way I should have, and I definitely feel more prepared than I did last time,” Holm said.

“I'll definitely be an even better version [of the return bout]. You'll see.”

Reconnecting with a third title is “why we do this – to fight and win and be a champion. That's all my focus. I've been zeroed in on this fight. No, cutting corners. I've been showing up, putting in the work.”

There’s respect for Han, who landed effective right hands on Holm during the first bout, but also the acknowledgement of who Holm is – a fighter from nearby Albuquerque, New Mexico, whom Han grew up watching.

“Anytime you're in there with a fighter, you get a good feel for them,” Holm said. “I'm ready, and I do feel I got her on one of her better performances, and I didn't perform to my best ability that night. She's a very smart fighter, though, and ready. She's a very technical, smart and disciplined fighter. So I take nothing away from her. She's a champion for a reason.”

Should Holm claim victory, she also emerges as a prime candidate for Ireland’s Taylor, the Olympic gold medalist and national idol who’s yearning to bring a high-profile bout to her country’s Croke Park.

There’s aspirations of drawing 100,000 fans to the event, making it the biggest women’s fight in history.

Asked if Holm is an ideal, big-name foe, a Taylor advisor told BS, “Hmmm, possibly.”

“I would love to have that fight with [Taylor],” Holm said. “But I know that I have to do what I gotta do in order to, even let that be an option.

“That's why I'm really focusing on this fight and making it the best that I can – to then be able to have options after that. But we'll have to perform first – which I'm going to do.”

Considering it's all under the MVP Banner, I figure Holly Holm if she wants it may still be offered an MMA or Boxing match with Gina Carano or possibly a fight with Katie Taylor or something.

Holly is still one of the bigger names in Women's Combat Sports, and makes sense as an opponent in any of those situations.

I really thought Holly won that. The first five rounds were fairly even, and Holly carried it down the stretch. Surprised by the decision.

Felt like Holm had it 7-3 or so..

She had three strikes against her though... She was older, lost the first fight, and in the opponents home town.

Plus from a marketing standpoint you'd think it benefits the promotion for Han to win. Holm you can still sell as an opponent in a fight regardless because of her accomplished past.

Han needs the unbeaten record and the wins over Holly to be sold to the public as somebody.

The cpmubox numbers have been wrong before and are here again. When HBO used to do them they meant something, now they are absolutely rigged.

in the last round both landed 6 punches.Compubox said Holm landed 13.
Completely invented stuff.

I thought that Compubox was inaccurate in their first fight because I scored it 3 rounds to 3 and then the fight was stopped due to a clash of heads in the seventh round and Han got cut. I felt that the judges were biased for the first fight. In the rematch, I did not feel that Holm would win a decision even if she deserved it especially because the fight was in El Paso, Texas. I thought Holm could win if Han got cut because of a punch and the fight being stopped due to the severity of the cut and if blood was affecting Han's vision.
