I do it because it is so easy. That is what you are there for, to get the piss taken out of you.
Haha, sorry but a sad and pathetic insult such as "the land of milk and muppets" doesn't really hurt any feelings bud...it's better than being "the land of bad teeth and warm beer"
Hahaha, you must really have great teeth over there with all the sugar you eat, to get that wonderful reputation of world leaders in OBESITY.
Please dont ever mention beer, you just dont have any, it really is weaker than coffee over there.[/quote]

Obesity used to be a sign of wealth :TU: Not to mention, I'm not fat so go ahead and make fun of people who don't care of themselves. I weigh about 183, down from 186, aiming for 175.

I'm really pleased for you, I hope you achieve your target. Trust me the only thing that obesity is a sign of is f,,ucking GREED.

Randy Suico got beat up pretty bad against Juan Diaz, as did McCullough against Larios. But I absoulutley love what Chavez did to Haugen in their fight. Chavez purposely let the fight go on as long as possible after Haugen made that, "I would be 40-0 too if I fought nothing Tijuana taxi drivers" comment (or something like that). Haugen took a pretty good beating.

I think the all time record for cumulative damage taken without ko would have to go to Tex Cobb.

Absolutely agree, obviously some of the younger posters on here probably wouldn't remember it, as they seem to think Calzaghe / Lacy was bad. The way Holmes teed off on Cobb for 15 rounds was insane. It was like a golfer hitting a ball, or one of those pitchers in baseball. Cobb just refused to go over, and Holmes just couldn't finish him.

Is this the fight that made Howard Cosell quit broadcasting boxing or was it an Ali fight?

I think i read that it was about the time that Ferdie Pacheco turned it in as Ali's physician, as he said he could sense the thickening of his speech, and a slowing of his reflexes. Howard Cosell must have concurred with him and refused to commmentate on any of Ali's fights.
Sorry if that leaves you non the wiser, but i suppose it can be checked when Pacheco left the entourage.

Who are you to insult America when you should be critizing your own because of these cowardly hooligans 'Fans' who like to riot and boo other fighters national anthems. Britain is the only country that does it when it comes to boxing.
Make sure also when the World cup comes, tell those Euro-trash hooligans to stay put and not come to MY country. If these damn British hooligans think they can come ruin my country like they did in Germany they've got another thing comming.

It was the Cobb - Holmes fight that resulted in Cosell leaving boxing.
Cobb later said that he (Cobb)" may find a cure for cancer but it wouldnt compare to the great achievement of getting Cosell to get out of boxing."

Admittedly I never saw it. Have only read numerus accounts and have listened to Chuck Wepner himself in interviews describe the beating he took from Sonny Liston. Maybe this one doesn't count because the fight was indeed stopped by corner retirement in round 10 ...

But as I understand it, Wepner suffered a cracked cheekbone and needed something like 150 stitches to sew up multiple cuts on his face ...

BUT WAS NEVER DOWN IN THE FIGHT !!

Rocky Marciano.

Next question please, this one was easy.

ahhhh ur horribly wrong. have u seen the films??? marciano did not take as many punches as you think. marciano slipped many punches in his crouch and bob and weave. he rolled, ducked, slipped under many punches. marciano did not get hit as much as you think. the only fight where he took a lot of punishment was the first walcott fight and even that one wasnt so bad.

fighters like carmen basillio, arturo gatti, tex cobb and many many more they took far far more punishment than marciano.
