I remember Angelo Dundee saying the 90's version of Foreman would be a much tougher fight for Ali.

I'll be the first to say the obvious. Old George was alot smarter.

Old George knew his limitations, knew how to pace himself, knew when to cover up.

And had to learn that lesson about pacing himself the hard way after he gassed against Ali and Jimmy Young. Many weaknesses in Boxing don't get corrected until you lose because of them.

He was fading a bit at the end vs Gregorio Peralta in their first bout

I pick the 70s version of George. I'm not ready to unpack how or why, but I'm pretty certain he'd win.

Re: George Foreman (70s) vs George Foreman (90s)
The 1990s George did better than many thought he would. At times, he looked bad, sometimes pretty good. Still had some power though not nearly what he once had. He made sure to fight at a slow pace. He had two big problems. Defensively was easy to hit because he was slow. Offensively, he often could not go in for the kill when he an opponent hurt. He just did not have the energy.
Obviously, he can't fight himself. but if we going to pretend he could, the 1990s George would hit early. And would get over and over until he went down. Once down, he wouldn't be able to get up.

Does the winner get a new grill?
