Ryan Rozicki fires warning shots at Chris Billam-Smith ahead of June 6 showdown
Canadian cruiserweight contender Ryan Rozicki, 21-1-1 (20 KOs) has issued a warning to Chris Billam-Smith, 21-2 (13 KOs) ahead of their June 6 showdown in Bournemouth, England.
The 10-round bout will headline Zuffa Boxing’s first event in the United Kingdom, which will be held in the British fighter’s hometown.
Billam-Smith, during recent media promotion in England, has promised not to run like previous Rozicki opponent, Alberto Peralta.
“I feel like this is a big moment for my fans, promotion and team,” Rozicki said. “I’m grateful for that but, for me, personally, it’s just another fight. Chris said he’s not going to run like Peralta did. I’m hoping he keeps his word, but he probably won’t because it sounds too good to be true. Either way, he’s in for the toughest night of his life. Fighting, not boxing, is who I am and what I’m all about!”
Three Lions Promotions managing director Daniel Otter sincerely believes Rozicki’s pressure, power, and old-school mentality will be the deciding factors.
“Being around Sky Sports’ promotional work for a week,” Otter added, “you could see how dialed-in Ryan was from the start. The pressure, the cameras, the attention – none of that bothered Ryan for a second.
“I think Billam-Smith and his coach, Shane McGuigan, believe they have this all figured out. They don’t! Ryan brings a kind of pressure you cannot prepare for until you are locked in the ring with him. They can talk about standing and fighting all they want, but once Ryan starts walking Billam-Smith down, we’ll see how long that lasts. You can only move for so long. As the great Joe Louis famously said, ‘You can run but you can’t hide.”
“Mark my words,” Otter predicted, “on June 6 the boxing world is going to discover one of boxing’s best kept secrets, Ryan Rozicki.”

STEVIE MCKENNA SIGNS WITH ZUFFA BOXING, TO RETURN JUNE 6
Stevie McKenna has secured some much-needed motion for his career.
McKenna (15-1, 14 KOs) has signed a long-term promotional contract with Zuffa Boxing and will return June 6 to take on Casey James Streeter (15-3-2, 6 KOs), it was announced on Friday.
The eight-round middleweight matchup will be featured on the Zuffa Boxing 07 show, headlined by the cruiserweight clash between Chris Billam-Smith and Ryan Rozicki, in Bournemouth, England.
“The Hitman” McKenna, a 29-year-old from Monaghan, Ireland, hasn’t fought since suffering the lone loss of his career, a 10-round majority decision to Lee Cutler in December 2024.
McKenna turned pro in 2019 and has fought exclusively in the UK after kicking off his career with four fights in California under Hall of Fame coach Freddie Roach. Eleven of McKenna’s 14 knockouts have come in three rounds or less.
McKenna is looking to gain momentum in his career, much like his younger brother Aaron McKenna (20-0, 10 KOs), who last year scored a career-best unanimous decision win against Liam Smith.
Streeter (15-3-2, 6 KOs) last fought on Zuffa Boxing 03 in February and was stopped by Leo Ruiz in four rounds.

Dave is not a good person he’s a grifter.
It will all come out about what he’s done with some of his fighters and he’s a disgrace of a human being.

Jack Massey, still chasing Chris Billam-Smith, reveals true allure of Zuffa Boxing
Cruiserweight contender Jack Massey admits that his fight next week, on Zuffa Boxing’s first show in the UK, will allow him to take a closer look at a rival he is already familiar with.
While Massey must first overcome Cheavon Clarke in the co-feature, he will doubtless be paying close attention to the main event between Chris Billam-Smith and Canadian puncher Ryan Rozicki.
Massey defeated Billam-Smith via decision in the amateurs, and a rematch is said to be of interest to Sky Sports, who will televise the show in the UK.
The 33-year-old Massey, 22-3 (13 KOs) and trained by Joe Gallagher, is excited to open his account against the former Team GB Olympian Clarke on June 6 at the Bournemouth International Centre.
“I think it’s going to be great,” said Massey of the event. “I think the reason why I was signing with them [Zuffa] is because, in my career, it’s always been ‘when’s your next fight, when’s your next fight.’ Sometimes I’ve had six months or even a year break between fights – inactivity – but with these guys, it’s looking like you’re going to know your next date pretty much straight after you fight. I think, Dana [White] is a very, very busy man.
“He’s got the UFC and everything else. I think he has to plan quite in advance and have dates down for the next events because he’s back-to-back all the time. I think you’re going to know your next date when you come out of the ring and that, for me, is probably one of the main things in boxing. It’s been one of the main pains in my career, not knowing when your next fight is.”
Massey said he has not yet spoken with Zuffa Boxing boss White, but one man he does think he could renew acquaintances with is Billam-Smith.
While Bournemouth’s former WBO champion has made no secret of his desire to face Jai Opetaia, Massey can see his old amateur foe on the horizon and is hoping he could provide “The Gentleman” with an inconvenient alternative to the big-punching Australian.
A fight with Billam-Smith is something that Massey, who lost in six rounds to Opetaia in 2024, has attempted to land before.
“We did try to make it happen in the past but all we can do is just keep pushing forward, keep winning, keep beating these guys in front of me and we’ll be in that position where he has to fight me,” Massey said. “I don’t think it’s a mistake that they put me as chief support on the Bournemouth card. I think that there might be a little bit of something in that, to build a fight in the future but I don’t mind Chris. I haven’t got a bad word to say about him. I know I shout him out and it’s the fight game, that’s just strictly business but he has turned the Opetaia fight down before. I think he knows it’s a very dangerous fight and he’s chasing that again. I think he’s realised that now [Billam-Smith’s] not got a belt he needs a big fight like that now.”
It was more than 13 years ago when Massey and CBS fought as amateurs.
“We’ve both come on, we’ve both matured into fully grown cruiserweights and men and we are totally different fighters but, stylistically, it still makes a great, great fight,” Massey added.
“He’s done absolutely amazing [in his career]. He's done great and hopefully we can make it happen and we get back up to that level where he was at, world title level and get someone a nice belt.
“[First] we’ll get our fight out of the way and obviously see what happens with Chris’ fight. “He’s got a tough fight ahead of him and hopefully he comes out on top.”

As well as Sky Sports, the main card will also be broadcast on Sky One.
So anyone with a Sky subscription, rather than a Sports one.

Massey happy jumping into deep Zuffa cruiserweight waters
After spending the best part of 18 months patiently waiting for the chance to get involved in the cruiserweight mix, Jack Massey finally has a fight to sink his teeth into.
On June 6, the former European champion will box former British beltholder Cheavon Clarke (11-2, 8 KOs) at the Bournemouth International Centre.
Their 10-round fight will serve as the chief support preceding Chris Billam Smith-Ryan Rozicki, a cruiserweight clash headlining Zuffa Boxing 07 in the promotion's first official bridgehead into the British boxing market.
Massey's sole action since an October 2024 loss to The Ring cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia was a frenetic knockout victory over heavy-handed but vulnerable Ivan Garcia in November 2025. The 33-year-old from Derbyshire had to recover from a shock opening round knockdown before stopping the Argentinian in the fourth.
Massey (23-3, 13 KOs) has kept turning up at Joe Gallagher’s Champs Camp gym in Manchester day in, day out but championship-level fighters come into their own when they have a meaningful name and solid date to work towards. The man known as 'One Smack' couldn't have joined the busy Zuffa cruiserweight mix at a better time.
"I keep surprising myself in the gym. I feel bigger, stronger and obviously having spent more time with Joe, better as well," he told The Ring.
"I think being active is just going to see the best of me and being in these fights where people are made to fight, because I think they've got six or seven cruiserweights now. Billam-Smith, Rozicki, me, Clarke, Brandon Glanton and Opetaia."
Massey is looking forward to being kept busy but the calibre of potential opposition has really excited him. His fight with Opetaia may have ended in defeat but didn't dent Massey's ambitions of mixing with the biggest and best names in the 200-pound division.
Massey certainly won't look to tip toe his way to another title shot. The 13-year pro has never been shy about testing himself and is more than willing to face whoever is put in front of him.
"I liked to think when I was with Boxxer that there was a few under the Boxxer umbrella and that we'd all be made to fight but I think, with these guys, it's going to be a no option sort of thing. It's like 'right, you're fighting each other', there's not going to be any ways around it.
"I can't see Dana [White] cherry picking. They do want to make 50-50 fights and that's how they want to sell it."
