Just realised that Eifert is russian as well. His corner his speaking russian, not german.
Bivol is very timid..Eifert even more. Not that fun.

He raised the pace in the 11th at least.. Eifert isn't opening up, though.
Knockout seems unlikely at this point.

Just ended.
Bivol dominated, but kinda low output. A little disappointing.. Eifert even more. First title shot and in the end was just running away. Might as well try and go out on your shield..

Shut out for Bivol I but I thought he was bang average by his standards, couldn't have asked for a better start, walked Eifert on to a peach of a left hook to drop him in the 1st, you'd have hoped for an early KO for Bivol but he just boxed in sparring mode, won it with the jab, cut loose down the stretch but didn't capitalize on the 11th, Eifert looked ready to go but after a strong start to the 12th Bivol went back to boxing, summed up the fight, Eifert brave and landed the odd shot but Bivol should be doing better, all too easy

He didn't really try for most of the fight and when he did, Eifert was covering up and running.

We go to the scorecards in #BivolEifert — 118-107 x3 all for Bivol, who retains the lineal and unified light heavyweight titles. Not sure how they got that score but that’s what the Russian ring announcer said in broken English. #boxing

No, he's not one to jump in behind a knockdown. He's firmly a believer in punishing mistakes, not taking chances.
You could argue he's the most correct boxer in the world.
Pure textbook.
If he ever meets someone 'correct' like himself, it's going to feel like watching one of those high level football matches where neither side seem interested in taking risks.
One satisfying only for the technical purists.
Maybe they could introduce some kind of penalty shootout equivalent for fights that go 12 without sufficiently serious action?

The first Beterbiev fight was one for the purists.
Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Michael Eifert | DAZN - May 30, 2026
Bivol really isn't a particularly entertaining fighter. He's good, but dull

Both Beterbiev fights were top notch. Probaly didn't feel the need to go out of gear 1 because of his opponent..
Let's hope that was it (and maybe some ring rust), because otherwise Benavidez will be a big problem.

Against the likes of Beterbiev, Canelo and Ramirez it's as good as it gets, the likes of Inoue, Bam and Usyk get rid of the Eifert's of this world though

Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Michael Eifert | DAZN - May 30, 2026
Big decisions await Bivol after easing past Eifert
Dmitry Bivol returned from a 15-month layoff to dominate Michael Eifert with a shutout unanimous decision win Saturday in Russia.
The Ring, IBF, WBA and WBO light heavyweight champion Bivol (25-1, 12 KOs) was mandated by the IBF to face the inferior Eifert, who had been waiting three years for his opportunity.
Eifert essentially served as a tune-up fight for the 35-year-old champion on his return from back surgery and delivered a paltry performance, landing an abominable 12 of 349 punches. The next bout for The Ring’s No. 6-rated pound-for-pound fighter, though, will be anything but a test run.
Bivol now has to weigh his options, which include fulfilling his WBO obligation and facing mandatory challenger and interim titleholder Callum Smith, or vacating the title – much like he did last year with his WBC crown instead of moving forward with an ordered fight against David Benavidez before his looming surgery.
Bivol appears inclined to entertain the idea of a rubber match against Artur Beterbiev or an undisputed title fight against the WBC titleholder Benavidez. The WBO already made it clear before this weekend that the winner would have to give Smith, The Ring's No. 2-ranked player at 175 pounds, the next crack at the crown.
Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn handles both Bivol and Smith, so he'll have to navigate the situation.
"It was great to see Bivol back," Hearn said. "You saw him sort of take his time. I feel like he probably could have gotten Eifert out of there, but great to bank the rounds after a very long period out with injury.
"And now, Bivol has been ordered to fight Callum, who’s got to get his shot. If Bivol does choose to fight Beterbiev or Benavidez, then it will be Callum versus Joshua Buatsi to run it back for the world title, which would be a massive fight. Dmitry is now ready to jump straight back into the biggest fights in the sport. It's exciting times. We'll see what happens.”
Smith (31-2, 22 KOs), who was stopped by Beterbiev in January 2024 and suffered a unanimous decision loss against Canelo Alvarez in 2020 at 168 pounds, hasn’t fought since beating Buatsi by decision in a barnburner last time out in February 2025.
Smith was supposed to face David Morrell on April 18, but withdrew less than two weeks prior due to injury.

Dmitry Bivol returns from 15-month lay-off with dominant win
Bivol is back! Dmitry returns from long lay-off with wide win
Elite Russian Dmitry Bivol marked his return from a 15-month lay-off with a dominant display against Michael Eifert to defend his unified light-heavyweight crown in his home nation.
With the WBA, IBF and IBO world titles on the line, all three judges scored the bout 118-107 in favour of the 35-year-old Bivol.
The win was Bivol’s first since February 2025 when he gained revenge on Artur Beterbiev – the only fighter to have beaten him – before having back surgery six months later.
Bivol, who has wins over Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Gilberto Ramirez, knocked Germany’s Eifert down in the first round with a heavy left hook.
Eifert was able to beat the count and made it to the bell at the end of the 12th round but could not trouble one of the pound-for-pound greats.
With a win apiece, a trilogy bout with compatriot Beterbiev could be on the horizon for Bivol, while WBA (Super) and WBO cruiserweight champion David Benavidez, who recently stepped up from light-heavyweight, has been talking up the prospect of facing the Russian.
