Nice if you to remember me though, mate. :OhYes:

I see The Snooker thread is thriving without me.

People don’t appreciate that it’s you and me that caused the rise in popularity of the word ‘discuss.’

How are you, mate?

Talk about a blast from the past.

Yes, he got pulled out.
How was he getting on Mick. It was a step up from central to English. Was he ever in the fight?
Not really. He's done amazingly well to get to that level, he should be very proud of himself.
Do you think that's his level Mick, area level? Couple of decent fights with Joe Garside, who is probably around area level too. I can't see Joe progressing any further than the level he's fighting. Will imo is around that level too. I just don't think he can bang and for me important to be able to proceed to higher levels

Will lasted a round longer that Joe did too.

Definitely, and it's a great level for them both. I've seen both since the ams and neither were expected to go this far.

Betfred prob paid for most of the card
The Albanian sold most of the tickets
Rest of the card was cheap
Job done
Dunno if the BBC is keen to sign up for more though.
Azim looked good, he will be a huge loss for Shalom

Adam Azim can push to the front of IBF queue, reckons Ben Shalom

Promoter Ben Shalom has said he could approach either the teams of Lindolfo Delgado or Arthur Biyarslanov to step aside so his man, Adam Azim, can fight for the vacant IBF 140lbs title next.

Adam Azim blitzed veteran Canadian Steve Claggett at Wembley Arena last night, stopping him in three one-sided rounds, just days after the IBF ordered Delgado and Biyarslanov to meet for their vacant belt.

“I don’t think there’s any money in that fight,” Shalom said of the proposed title match. “I think there’s an opportunity there that we’ll be getting on on Monday, possibly step aside. Adam is the promotional star in those IBF rankings now and I hope to make it next. I really do. He’s in line to either fight the winner or do a step aside and fight for it next because he’s ready and he’s not only the best fighter but the promotional star as well.”

Azim had not boxed since a November win over Kurt Scoby. He had been due to fight Gustavo Lemos earlier in the year but both fighters were injured in the build-up and the contest never got back on track.

Now, Azim says activity is key. He improved to 15-0 (12 KOs) by claiming Claggett’s scalp.

“I want to be active, of course,” he said. “Could be August, September time and fighting again and let’s see what happens after that. The main thing is to be active, making statements and putting a performance on.”

He certainly did that against Claggett.

Azim has talked at length about having ADHD, and he believes it helps him in the ring. Trainer Shane McGuigan nodded when Azim said so last night, and the fighter added: “I think about a thousand things only head [in a fight], like what am I going to do tomorrow, what am I going to do when I get home. But ADHD is a superpower.”

I’d be surprise if BetFred stumped up more than £20k.

So where is the money going to be generated to give the mandatorys step aside money?

The only way I see possible is if it taken out of a Saudi purse.

Between Shalom and the McGuigans, I hope Adam doesn't end up broke

Good display from Azim but for my money Claggett is a journeyman type of fighter. I expected Azim to do as he did. Azim got caught a few times in the fight which I didn't really like. The jury is still out but he's got a very formidable offence at all ranges, that's for sure.

When you know you can beat a boxer, they tend to take risks. Go toe to toe, which means you can get tagged.

Azim probably felt his shots and thought I can probably take a few of fhese.

Against better opponents, almost every boxer tends to tighten up.

Like you said. He journeyman level. But Teofimo couldn’t stop him.
