But maybe Tyson himself even forgets just how amazingly great he was back in 86-88.

Just kinda feel Lewis had the size and smarts and strength to outbox and control young Mike, Tyson even in his prime had some trouble with big tall smart boxers like Tillis and Tucker and Lewis was far better than those two.

Lewis WI2
Ironically, this board believes Tyson would have beaten Lewis despite Tyson having said that. Yet, they use a similar statement as 'evidence' that James Jeffries could never of beaten Jack Johnson. And to a smaller degree, people use it as 'evidence' that Marciano would always beat Louis.

For me, the first round shows me that at Tyson's best, Lewis would have been kayoed. The fact that Tyson was out of shape, no longer had any desire for the business and was broke, shows that even that version made Lewis's eyes glaze over in that first round. Then again, maybe I am downplaying the resolve of Lennox Lewis to come back after facing adversity. However, at the end of the day, the greatest victory he ever had was over an old, shadow that was once Mike Tyson.

Jesus bless.
But when Tyson said that he could have been referring to "in this time frame" from when they fought. Like no version of himself would have beaten Lennox in 2002. The sentence is some what vague

Heres what we know

1. When they actually fought everything was in Lewis favor. Lewis was still a committed fighter, Tyson was a mess.

2. As bad as Tyson was Lewis needed 8 one sided rounds to beat him.

3. Lewis could not catch Tyson with one punch and Tyson took tremendous punishment.

4. Could Tyson beat Lewis. Yes he could land one in his prime. Even Lewis said that Tyson held his own with him when they spar4eed in the Catskills. Others including Rooney said Mike got the better of him.

6. Lewis has acknowledged that Prison destroyed Tyson's reflexes.

6. All of Tyson's nonsense happened after prison. Prime Tyson was all action no nonsense. Mills Lane has commented on this.

7. Interestingly Lewis Tyson and Bowe, have only one stoppage after the 7 round each. I have no doubt Tyson gets past the 7 round, if anyone goes early here its not Tyson.

8. Tyson broke with Rooney and was never the same.

8. Tyson never faced anyone as good as Lewis, but Lewis never faced anyone as good as Tyson either.

10. Can Kevi Rooney come uo with a game plan for Tyson to win, We will never know.1

Mike Tyson after prison term was a three-ring circus. Once he fought a real fighter, like the great Evander Holyfield in 1996, it was downhill from there for him.
