Re: Adam Azim
He owes boxxer a fight still surely? He pulled out injured in October.
That was allegedly a two-fight deal. He's only had one of them.
Then it also depends what sort of matching rights, exclusive negotiation period etc are in there, if any
I'd be surprised if he's a free agent at the moment, unless there was a strict time limit on the contract period.

Trainer Shane McGuigan hopeful Adam Azim lands three fights in 2026
Even though Adam Azim has yet to box this year, trainer Shane McGuigan is hoping he can make up for lost time with three fights in 2026.
Azim, 24, has not fought since soundly defeating Kurt Scoby and moving to 14-0 (11 KOs) last November.
He had been due to fight Gustavo Lemos in January, but both fighters suffered hand injuries and the fight was shelved. Azim then observed Ramadan.
McGuigan hopes there could be an announcement about Azim’s next fight this week.
“He’s in the gym. He’s training away,” said McGuigan. “He’s looking forward to his fight. We’ve been trying to get this opponent announced for the last couple of weeks. It’s nothing on our side. There’s been a few opponents we’ve agreed to and then they’ve fallen through and stuff like that, and that’s on nobody else apart from just the fighters themselves.
“But we want to get this show announced soon and get him out, because he’s a young man that needs to get going. But he’s in a very good place. He’s learning all the time. He’s getting better. He’s going to be a world champion, I believe, before the end of the year. I think he will be. And hopefully we can get this next fight announced soon. And then he gets out another two times after that before the end of the year.”
Azim has No. 8 rankings with the IBF and the WBC. He is No. 7 with the WBO.
Azim has long been promoted by Boxxer and Ben Shalom, but he has yet to appear on the BBC since Shalom and Sky Sports parted ways.
“But if he’s going on the BBC, for instance, then that’s huge exposure,” added McGuigan. “And that’s what we signed up for. We signed up for that exposure. And that’s something that we’re really excited to get Adam Azim on that platform. And I feel like, with no disrespect to certain other fighters that might have gone on that channel, they’ve not got the attention that they could have gotten or that Adam will get. And I think it’s a great position for Adam to get a lot of attention if he’s in a really exciting fight. That’s why we’ve been trying to get the right opponent. And I think we’re close to getting it all sorted.”

Re: Adam Azim
Next fight for Adam Azim could be world title shot on BBC
Adam Azim has the world at his feet following his three-round demolition of Steve Claggett last month.
The victory earned the 15-0 (12 KOs) junior welterweight a No. 4 ranking with the IBF, and a likely shot at the title that will be contested between Lindolfo Delgado and Arthur Biyarslanov. The vacant belt will be on the line for the contest between Delgado and Biyarslanov that should take place this summer, with Azim lining up the winner.
The 24-year-old Azim has struggled for activity of late, fighting only twice in 2025 before an injury cancelled his January bout with Gustavo Lemos. Should Azim have competed in the contest against Lemos and been victorious, his promoter Ben Shalom of Boxxer believes he would now be fighting for the vacant title.
“If he'd have fought on January 31 he'd be fighting for a world title next,” Shalom told Boxing Scene. “That's just how it works, but it is what it is. I'm excited, I think it's going to be a big, big next fight and hopefully it'll be that world title.”
Shalom recently signed a multi-fight deal with streaming service DAZN. Despite this, their broadcast deal with BBC will continue.
“I think the plan for us is that we want Adam's next fight to be on the BBC,” said Shalom.
The contest that always seems to be brought up when Azim is mentioned is one with WBC 140lb champion Dalton Smith. That is a fight Shalom now thinks is in touching distance after years of back-and-forths.
“We want to make sure in the next two fights we can see that grudge match that everyone wants to see,” Shalom said. “I want that to be the biggest fight possible, I want it to be a pay-per-view fight, I want it to be the fight that defines Adam's early career. So yeah, let's see, next couple of fights I want Dalton Smith to be one of them.”
That Azim-Smith bout, should it happen, would likely land on DAZN. There were reports that the deal only spanned for one fight, the rematch between Troy Williamson and Callum Simpson on August 8, but Shalom revealed that is not the case.
“I don't want to embarrass anyone but it's a proper deal for us and I'm so excited to get back to the big nights, the big fights, the big events regularly for a long period,” he said. “So yeah, I'm really happy about it.”
Shalom also reaffirmed that Boxxer’s deal with BBC is here to stay.
“Look, it's early days with the BBC, we've not built it for nothing,” he said. “We've invested a lot into it and that's why it was so important that this deal didn't cut across the BBC. So yeah, it's another deal that we are incredibly proud of, a partnership that we want to have for a long time.”
