Interesting fight. Gonzalez has a huge edge in experience and has already proven he can still compete at a high level after the win over Yankiel Rivera earlier this year. He's been in with world-class opposition and knows how to manage a 10- or 12-round fight.

Perez being 14-0 makes him dangerous, but this feels like a big step up in class. Undefeated records can look great on paper until a fighter faces someone with Gonzalez's ring IQ and championship experience.

My pick is Gonzalez by clear decision. I think Perez will have his moments early, but over the second half of the fight Gonzalez's experience and timing should take over. If Perez makes it very competitive, even in a loss, it will tell us a lot about his future prospects.

Perez wins a split, never scored but knew it would be razor tight, even a draw looked possible, Gonzalez started sharp, looked like he was trying to take Perez's head off his shoulders with huge overhand lefts but Perez boxed into things and opened Gonzalez up a few times, Gonzalez would have success then Perez would show some good work, it was a good fight, highly competitive, some good action and fought at a good pace
