Isaac Chamberlain Trains With Peter Fury, Plots Ring Return

Former British and Commonwealth cruiserweight champion Isaac Chamberlain is training with Peter Fury as he plots his long-awaited return to the ring.

Chamberlain (16-3, 8 KOs) has been missing since he lost in his challenge for the vacant European title when Jack Massey beat him via unanimous decision at Selhurst Park, London in June 2024.

The 31-year-old had spent time training with Surrey-based coach Adam Booth but Chamberlain did not manage to fight during that short spell.

And now the Londoner has headed north for Congleton, Cheshire to train under Fury, uncle and former coach of two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson.

The cruiserweight is working towards a return to the ring and hopes this training set up, where he has been sparring new heavyweight stable-mate Matty Harris among others, can fire him back towards title contention.

Chamberlain had claimed the British and Commonwealth belts as a result of his career-best win over the previously undefeated Mikael Lawal at York Hall, Bethnal Green in October 2023.

The victory booked him a place on the undercard of Chris Billam-Smith's successful world title defence against Richard Riakporhe outdoors at Selhurst Park, the home of Crystal Palace FC.

However he came unstuck against Massey that night, losing narrowly on the cards and he has been missing for the 17 months since.

Just noticed that Chamberlain apparently has 2 fights in Alabama in a week, vs 2 heavies with losing records. The fight tonight at the mighty Elks Lodge, Mobile, Alabama is a 4 rounder. Bizarre return...

Chamberlain's been out for 2 years so it might be a fast-track to shedding ring rust.

It will interesting to see where this is heading. Only lost to Okolie, Bilham-Smith and Massey...all top grade domestic opposition.

He should still be a major player in Britain and Europe.
