I think it’s his first fight in years. Or did he fight last year?

They trying to marinate the fight against Caleb Plant.

Jermall is a waste of talent. His biggest win on paper was Austin trout nearly 10 years ago. And most fans thought he lost it.
Would he at least get in the ring with a legitimate challenger?

Honestly he should be used more like a stepping stone for a guy that's on the way up at this point. If some "legitimate challenger" is out there then Jermall Charlo is pretty much a waste of his time. Jermall Charlo don't want the big fights. Never has.

Both of the Charlo's really don't have a lot of heart, and Jermall has even less of the 2 brothers.

"I took the fighters life".
Could've phrased that a little different, Mauricio :D

I guess that's a nice thing to do, but than anyone could do that, if they don't feel like defending their belt.

Good on Mannix for pressing him like that.

Jermall Charlo to next fight on Errol Spence-Tim Tszyu card

Errol Spence Jnr won’t be going it alone when he treks Down Under to meet Australia’s former junior-middleweight beltholder Tim Tszyu in late July.

Former middleweight titlist and Spence stablemate Jermall Charlo will also be on the card, an individual connected to the card confirmed to Boxing Scene Friday following reports of Charlo’s addition.

Houston’s Charlo, 34-0 (23 KOs), last fought 12 months ago, when he defeated Thomas LaManna by sixth-round TKO in Las Vegas.

That bout was supposed to serve as a precursor to a Charlo showdown with former IBF super-middleweight boss Caleb Plant, but Plant was upset by Armando Resendiz.

Plant slapped Charlo in the face backstage at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas at the July 2023 weigh-in for Spence’s eventual TKO undisputed welterweight title loss to Terence Crawford.

Former three-belt welterweight champion Spence is fighting for the first time since the Crawford loss when he meets Tszyu July 26 at a venue yet to be finalized in Australia. Tszyu has lost three times since March 2024.

Charlo and Spence are both trained in Texas by veteran cornerman Ronnie Shields.

Another ex-world champ joins Tszyu-headlined ‘greatest ever card in Aus’ as host city revealed

Tim Tszyu’s blockbuster showdown against Errol Spence Jnr has taken a huge twist — with two more American superstars now officially confirmed for what is suddenly being dubbed “the greatest card in Australian boxing history”.

Fox Sports Australia can reveal an American trio who’ve claimed nine world titles — Spence Jr, Jermall Charlo and Stephen Fulton Jr — will all compete on the card which is set to take place inside Sydney’s Afterpay Arena (currently called Qudos Bank Arena) on Sunday, July 26.

In the main event, Tszyu looks to continue his push back to becoming a two-time world champion by taking on a fella who, dubbed ‘The Truth’, is widely considered one of the greatest fighters of the modern era.

Then in what is an undeniably stacked undercard, Charlo puts his own undefeated record on the line against Australia’s Koen Mazoudier, while Fulton will throw down against popular Queenslander Liam Wilson.

Combined, the American trio of Spence, Charlo and Fulton have lost only three times in 85 fights.

And even, those losses have come against huge names in Terence Crawford, Naoya Inoue and O’Shaquie Foster.

Elsewhere, there have also been whispers of a further addition to what is already a huge “Australia versus American” event, with hyped Aussie prospect Callum ‘50 Cal’ Peters being rumoured for a shot at Michigan middleweight Joseph Hicks.

That has not been confirmed however.

Speaking on Thursday afternoon, No Limit promoter George Rose said the impending Tszyu-Spence showcase is set to be the biggest event ever domestically – despite no belts being contested.

Historically, Australia’s most watched event ever is the 2006 blockbuster between Anthony Mundine and Danny Green, while the most important showdown would have to be the 1908 heavyweight title fight between Jack Johnson and Tommy Burns at the old Sydney Stadium.

Regardless, Rose says his impending July bout will be “the greatest”.

“Make no mistake, this is the greatest fight card ever assembled in Australian boxing history,” the No Limit chief executive stressed.

“Errol Spence Jr, Jermall Charlo and Stephen Fulton all on the same card, in the same city, on the same day … that’s a Las Vegas headliner every single day of the week, and we’ve locked it in for Sydney.

“This is Australia versus the USA, three times over.

“And every single one of the fights is legacy-defining.

“We’ve built No Limit Boxing by delivering the best events on the biggest stages. And on July 26 we deliver the biggest stage this country has ever seen.

“The world is sending its biggest names to Tim Tszyu’s backyard, to Koen Mazoudier’s backyard, to Liam Wilson’s backyard — and they’re about to find out exactly what that means.”

Tszyu also heaped praise on the Sydney card, which is set to be formally announced at a press conference on Friday.

“It’s an honour to headline the greatest fight card ever assembled in Australia,” he said on Thursday afternoon.

“It’s an enormous privilege for me because I know how rare this is, for fight fans to have a card of this magnitude on home soil.

“Every time I step into that ring, I’m not just fighting for myself — I’m fighting for Australia and for everyone who’s ever believed in me.

“Errol Spence Jr. is a legend of this sport, one of the greatest to ever do it, but on July 26 I get to take him out once and for all. Moments like this are history making.

“They are rare, you don’t want to miss it.”

The surprise chance to face Charlo represents something of a Rocky opportunity for Mazoudier, who has won three straight since his 2024 Fight of the Year contender against Nikita Tszyu.

“I know I’m the underdog, everyone knows I’m the underdog,” Mazoudier said. “But I don’t care.

“I’m coming to spoil the party and dethrone a legend.

“I’ve never taken a backward step in my life, and I’m sure as hell not starting now. I’m going to bring everything I’ve got to get the result … I’m going to shock the world.”

While Charlo’s presence on the card was first confirmed by Fox Sports Australia last month, the surprise inclusion of Fulton is new.

A two-division world champion from Philadelphia, ‘Cool Boy’ has previously held the WBC and WBO super bantamweight crowns, before then adding WBC featherweight gold.

His only two professional defeats have come against Inoue, regarded by many as the greatest fighter on the planet, and Foster -- who beat Fulton on points in December 2025.

Elsewhere, Charlo also makes his return for the first time in a year.

Apart from sharing the same trainer as Spence – famed US coach Ronnie Shields – Charlo is also the twin brother of that former world champion who also shares a long history with Tszyu, Jermell Charlo.

Famously, Tszyu was twice meant to face Charlo back in 2023, only for ‘Iron Man’ to, first, fracture his left hand in two places and withdraw before then opting out of a showdown against the Aussie to instead challenge Crawford.

Forgive me if I don't get too excited about Charlo's fight. While Mazoudier is a tough Aussie-level fighter who's beat and lost to some good fighters of that same depth, he's never fought someone of Charlo's level - whatever that may be right now - nor above the SWW limit. I think those two factors result in another Charlo victory similar to the one over LaManna back in May of 2025, although I would love to see an upset.

‼️ Jermall Charlo has revealed he is out of his return against Koen Mazoudier next week due to visa issues entering Australia.

He was scheduled for the undercard of Errol Spence vs Tim Tszyu.
