Yeah, there are some more deserving contenders than Hatton, Jones being one of them. I hope that the winner of Hatton vs TBA will have to face Macklin - although I suspect Matt will be wise to have a longish break.Max Molyneux wrote:Maybe Hatton could fight Michael Jones.
Steve Conway for me should definately be involved, as should Wayne Alexander.
Other more worthy than Matthew include Facey, McDonagh, Pryce, and Woolcombe. Although as a former central area champion, I can see why they have opted for Matthew.

I would be very surprised to see Hatton box gym mate Macklin.stujones wrote:Yeah, there are some more deserving contenders than Hatton, Jones being one of them. Apart from anything else, Magic Matthew has sparred Macklin enough times to know he would have no chance!

I know there was some acrimony over the first launch of ukboxingpress, surely this isn't the same people? I know you and Ben Carey were involved first time around Stu, and it looked a promising site in the short time it existed. This must be a fresh start-up with the same name?stujones wrote:That website address sounds awfully familiar.
Good luck with the project.

I've no idea who is involved this time.... I haven't been approached anyway and I'm quite happy limiting my time to two boxing forums and any write ups to BBN.states wrote:I know there was some acrimony over the first launch of ukboxingpress, surely this isn't the same people? Well, when I say I have no idea.... I do THINK I have an idea, but no concrete evidence.
Yep, the original incarnation looked promising - had some good ideas.

Fight Academy flunky, Ben Carey has released this information saying that Matthew Hatton will contest a Final Eliminator (Opponent unknown) on the Swaby/Keeton undercard.
Firstly, how can he fight an opponent 'unknown' in a final eliminator? The top raked Light-Middles are easily identifiable and Hatton, incidentally, isn't one of them?
Secondly, Bradley Pryce will be the next mandatory as he is the Commonwealth champion therefore a final eliminator will not be necessary.
Thirdly, when the above is taken into account and Jamie Moore is yet to vacate the next mandatory contender, after Pryce, is at least a year way.
Ben Carey should really learn his stuff before he writes this nonsense. v

You should probably get up to date Boxing Chat.
"Fight Academy flunky" - that's a laugh. I haven't had anything to do with them for a year, no contact whatsoever.
A Fight Academy press release announced that Hatton will be taking part in a final eliminator. I wrote a story about that. Oh, and if you read it properly it questioned whether Matthew deserves to take part in an eliminator with more worthy candidates around.
Don't be so quick to judge son.

It seems Mr Boxing Twat From Brentwood who crys when he is sacked ... is right on this occasion ...boxingchat wrote:Fight Academy flunky, Ben Carey has released this information saying that Matthew Hatton will contest a Final Eliminator (Opponent unknown) on the Swaby/Keeton undercard.

Indeed the Matthew Hatton fight is no longer in a British Title eliminator ....
I am informed Matthew will fight a foreign opponent.
Hey Boxing Twat ... what do you think of the site ... rather good I feel ... just a shame I cannot write otherwise I would have volunteered my expert services ... maybe you should?? ... maybe if indeed you are correct about Carey's inadequacies he could do with the fine boxing judgement and knowledge you all too frequently display on this forum ... maybe you should contact him ASAP.
I would love to see your finely put together articles... instead of your rather boring taunts at people who are trying their best to provide a service!!!
So go on approach Mr Carey ... maybe he would move over in favour of you becoming Editor??

No Way ... Boxing Twat is not good enough for a mere reporters role ... there should be an early takeover of that site now!!! ...Wales wrote:I'd be interested to read some stuff from behind the scenes to be honest. As much as BC can come over as irritating, he has the inside track and i enjoy reading most of his stuff. An independant voice for SN?
Boxing Twat in and then his friend Ben Carey could be one of his reporters ...
The expertise, knowledge and all round ability lies with Boxing Twat and as such I think there should be a massive campaign for all readers of whatever sites to see his articles.
He is a top poster on the forums and he should transform this into writing articles for ukboxingpress.co.uk
