Dennis McCann Updates
Why are we hearing nothing about this?
Just the cogs of the law turning slowly or what?

Re: Dennis McCann Updates
The Times reports today that he’s hoping to be cleared on a technicality due to supposed errors in the way his samples were handled.
“Dennis continues to uphold the values of integrity and fair competition in sport” said his brief amongst other nonsense

What exactly is the problem? He just has to put a call into Jose Sulaiman Jr at the WBC
Re: Dennis McCann Updates
As long as he upholds the values of integrity, he will be as innocent as Conor Benn

Re: Dennis McCann Updates
Dennis McCann remains suspended, according to BBBofC head
Junior featherweight Dennis McCann is still forbidden from competing in the ring, according to Robert Smith, general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control.
Smith was asked about McCann, 16-0-1 (8 KOs), by WBO President Gustavo Olivieri on Thursday during the sanctioning body’s annual convention.
“I cannot tell you the reasons why. You’re a lawyer; you understand,” Smith said to Olivieri. “He is suspended. He cannot be considered for anything.”
While Smith isn’t saying why, one can read between the lines – or, you know, read the headlines.
McCann last fought in July 2024, outpointing the 16-4-1 Ionut Baluta. He was supposed to return last December against Peter McGrail, but that fight was called off after McCann allegedly tested positive for a banned substance.
The WBO issued a show-cause notice to McCann in January. McCann has remained in the WBO’s rankings throughout 2025, though he’s slid from being ranked third in January – where he remained until this August – before moving to 12th and then to his current position in the 15th slot.

Cheers Sean.
Shame. I was hoping we'd hear more interviews with the lad. He has a great speaking style.

No problem. And I like him, he seems a top fella, he just got caught. It's rife in the sport, I'm not judging him he just should not have done it. I did it for years in a 'sport' that does not test and does not involve hurting anyone else, I'm not a hypocrite I just think those who do in boxing should be banned forever, you can kill someone in boxing without synthetic hormones adding to it.

i knew a boxxer who was
100% guilty and did nothing

Re: Dennis McCann Updates
its not about who is on the PEDs, its about who get caught.
many get through their career without being found out, that extra 0.1% from your body in boxing can make all the difference.
