Mamdani's political gamble pays off as his endorsed candidates sweep their primaries
Mamdani's political gamble pays off as his endorsed candidates sweep their primaries
Primary night in New York marked the first major test for Mayor Zohran Mamdani's political movement, and it was widely successful.
All three of Mamdani's endorsed candidates for Congress were victorious, marking a massive win for the left and a major blow for establishment Democrats.
Mamdani endorsed in three competitive House primary matchups in New York City, breaking with Democratic leaders by throwing support behind leftist candidates who were unafraid to criticize Israel and push for ambitious economic policies.

It's now the party of Mamdani and the Squad.

This was NYC. Keep that in mind. But no, I don't like the results.
Re: Mamdani's political gamble pays off as his endorsed candidates sweep their primaries
These 3 are pretty extreme. Chevalier once to abolish the police and prisons, all 3 want voting rights for illegals.
Re: Mamdani's political gamble pays off as his endorsed candidates sweep their primaries
Well at least a Bloomberg endorsed candidate won. I'm far more of a capitalist than a socialist but these terms are a matter of degree. I'd like us to return to pre-Reagan capitalism.
Hopefully, and I am trying to put a positive spin on this, the extremism of these winners will blend in with what we have now giving us something actually sensible like pouring boiling water and ice water = tepid water.

It isn’t really extreme until heads start rolling. Ask the French.

Any woman who really wants to abolish police and prisons is a full-fledged moron. Hopefully it was just an attention getter.

She says she doesn't want that anymore, says she has "grown" since she had those views. Still only about 5 years ago she held those positions.

5 years is a long time. People can change quite a lot in 1 or 2 years never mind 5.hhaehre wrote: ↑24 Jun 2026, 15:40She says she doesn't want that anymore, says she has "grown" since she had those views. Still only about 5 years ago she held those positions.

People who are still MAGA have no hope. I'm not talking about conservatives, I'm talking about MAGA. The far Left may be naive, but people can learn and become less naive. One can acknowledge that police brutality exists just as gender confusion exists. The answers are not to defund the police or let kids do whatever they like to their bodies.Baby Face Finster wrote: ↑24 Jun 2026, 16:425 years is a long time. I am totally against defunding the police but I also am not in favour of massively funding them to the point that they buy military weapons and equipment which makes them look more like a paramilitary outfit instead of a police force.Tony1244 wrote: ↑24 Jun 2026, 16:52People who are still MAGA have no hope. Getting rid of prisons is also ridiculous. You need prisons for the worst offenders in society unless you plan to execute them all. If you get rid of the police and jails anarchy will undoubtedly take over as those people who have no moral conscience will take advantage of the situation to prey on other people and do what they want. You will basically end up looking like Haiti with criminal gangs running things.

At present, the Mamdani message will sell in low income black-hispanic areas.

Chevalier co-founded Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), a campus activist group that sparked major controversy when it declared in a mission statement that they were "fighting for the total eradication of Western civilization".
One of the reasons I don't regard democratic elections as some sacred cow. One radio broadcast said she won with an extremely low voter turnout. Fetterman and Carville have made negative comments about her.

Those 8 words sound great! Until they realize it may affect their Instagram and Netflix accounts. Also Marxist factory shoes only. No more Nike.Seamus wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 07:54 Chevalier co-founded Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), a campus activist group that sparked major controversy when it declared in a mission statement that they were "fighting for the total eradication of Western civilization".

Chevalier is certainly different from the other two progressive candidates that won. She has walked back some of the most extreme stuff, but far from all of it. She will definitely be the star of FOX News, that's for sure. It's noteworthy that Bernie congratulated the other two progressives, but not her.Seamus wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 07:54 Chevalier co-founded Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), a campus activist group that sparked major controversy when it declared in a mission statement that they were "fighting for the total eradication of Western civilization".

Lander and Valdez support voting rights for non-citizens in local municipal elections.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Obviously, the landlords aren't going to like it.

I don’t think there’s any running shoes that are particularly good for knee support. If you’re running your knees are gonna take a pounding. It’s better to run on a treadmill or better yet in water.Tony1244 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 16:40What's the best sneaker for knee support?Baby Face Finster wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 16:34Good, I think Nike shoes are crap and overpriced anyway. I don't run anymore. But I figured the best running shoe would support my knees for walks.Baby Face Finster wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 18:56I don’t think there’s any running shoes that are particularly good for knee support. Try the New Balance 1080. New Balance has made the shoe for years and I have run in it for a decade or so. Once I have 500 miles running in them I use them for walking shoes and they remain a good cusioned fit. Not too heavy, not too light.Tony1244 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 19:26I don't run anymore.
