Gassiev Vs Yoka for a world belt in 2026 is awful. Itauma/Wardley, Miller, Fury, Joshua and Hysa are the next ranked contenders. Itauma/Wardley/Fury/Joshua all demolish him while Miller or Hysa for a world title fight against Gassiev is a very low level champion while other belts will have legitimate champions.tiny_acres wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 13:35They have upgraded regular champions in the past on several occasions.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 13:23 Gassiev should be upgraded . But we know WBA don’t work like that.
I agree they should and do away with regular title like they have said they would do on numerous occasions.
Put Gassiev in a mandatory defense against the highest rated available contender asap.

Yeah of those 2 that'd definitely be the guy, but they well be looking to make deals with someone else. Who knows.joshj909 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 15:10They only have Opetaia and Ajagba. I could only see them using Opetaia against him

Porky called this a while back and again yesterday
Re: Usyk to Vacate All Belts
I could see Usyk wanting to face Wilder and Ruiz so maybe one of them?

I think he’ll understandably do money fights I can’t see him dropping to CW based on his last weight. Hes 39 and a half and not made CW for 8 years.Controversial wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 15:30 I wonder if Usyk will drop down to CW and fight for the CW belt again

Re: Usyk to Vacate All Belts
I’m just going by what he said a few times over the years that he wanted to be the first man to drop back down and win the CW belt again and he had to stuff his face to bulk up at HW. But as the years go by that becomes harder to do. He only has 2-3 fights left in him so probably just try and milk it for all its worth.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 15:42I think he’ll understandably do money fights I can’t see him dropping to CW based on his last weight. It’s in the rules yes.gilgamesh wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 14:46Do ya? Did they say that?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 14:44That true.
No need to give it up. No mandatories and no fees
You just need to defend against a top 5 ranked boxer every 2-3 years or so.
Reason why Fury got stripped. He lost his ABC belts and then he held on to the Ring and ‘Lineal’. 3 years passed and ring had to strip him then he was just left with his ‘lineal’ belt which he bragged about.
I this mags did a trend check. The word ‘lineal’ trending a lot in 2017/18..
Re: Usyk to Vacate All Belts
Usyk don't want no Kebab.
Re: Usyk to Vacate All Belts
Even having vacated the belts. Usyk is still the man that beat the man. He's still the man that became Undisputed Champion and nobody has beaten him in the ring to make him anything less than that, therefore the next time he fights he'll be the defending Undisputed Heavyweight Champion as far as I'm concerned. The men who pick up the belts he dropped will be titlists hoping to one day be what he is.

i still think Usyk would beat him but I'd like to see itTaansend wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 15:03The question is now was the Rico performance down to complacency, Rico being really good, age, or just an off night?
Or all of the above.
It's a shame we probably won't see him against Kabayel.

What does he want??
Re: Usyk to Vacate All Belts
No way on Earth he'd go back down to Cruiserweight to make about 40 Million less for his final fight.golden_labrador wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 18:19maybe a catch weight, 210Controversial wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 15:30 I wonder if Usyk will drop down to CW and fight for the CW belt again
Why would anyone even want him to? I'd want a Cruiserweight Champ to move up and challenge him maybe, Benavidez or Opetaia either one I'd be excited to see, but Usyk coming down for it? That's just stupid
Re: Usyk to Vacate All Belts
The Usyk of the last decade probably does.
The Usyk of the last fight probably doesn't.

If Usyk ducks Kab it gives Kab a fair chance of becoming the next champ and retiring undefeated.
Re: Usyk to Vacate All Belts
I don't see that kinda talent in Kabayel.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 20:08 If Usyk ducks Kab it gives Kab a fair chance of becoming the next champ and retiring undefeated.

Neither did I for a long time, but he's one of the few from his era that hasn't faded. Nothing special, but does everything well. If you'd asked me where I saw him in 10 years after his lowkey win over Chisora in Monaco, I'd have said a journeyman gatekeeper at best. But here we are.
Wouldn't he be the first undefeated boxer in history to move down and rewin a belt? Calzaghe might've been able to, but didn't.

Re: Usyk to Vacate All Belts
Plus going back to win the Cruiserweight title after winning the Heavyweight title is like being married to a Supermodel and ruining the relationship because you're trying to f*ck her significantly less attractive Sister.
Re: Usyk to Vacate All Belts
Not the best analogy because loads of blokes would do something stupid like that
