...and further notes (it would help if I put everything together before sending these out):

1. the Max Briggs supposed amateur bout was actually George's first sparring session in a ring and went badly for him...he was basically run out of the ring by the veteran Briggs. Not to be included on his record.

2. the unnamed amateur bout in 1966 was scheduled to be against P.T. Thompson and was to be his first amateur bout, but Foreman did not feel as if he was ready and did not show up for the bout. Not to be included on his record.

3. the April 15, 1968 bout vs. Hodges was scheduled on the undercard of an amateur show at Victoria Hall (no results were printed)...Foreman said he only fought (and lost to) Hodges twice. Not to be included on his record.

(Earnie Shavers had answered the phone when the caller had said "but George has to win"
Shavers turned the offer down)
