Liam Paro-George Kambosos eyed for 'next 12 months'

George Rose, of No Limit Boxing, has spoken of his desire to make Liam Paro versus George Kambosos in an all-Australia duel in the next 12 months.

Paro, 28-1 (16 KOs), claimed the IBF welterweight title last month when he won a close decision over Lewis Crocker. The 30-year-old had previously held the IBF super lightweight belt after upsetting Subial Matias in Puerto Rico 2023. Kambosos, 22-4 (10 KOs), unsuccessfully challenged for that belt 13 months ago when he was stopped in nine rounds by Richardson Hitchins.

Kambosos, 33, has not fought since after losing for the fourth time in six fights. His best win remains the huge upset over Teofimo Lopez in 2021. A bout with Paro would undoubtedly do big business in Australia, however.

"This is the top domestic fight that I want to make in the next 12 months," Rose said. "Both of these guys are responsible for the biggest upsets on foreign soil that we've seen in Australian boxing... That's fight that I'd love to see happen. Kambosos has had a tremendous career and Paro is well and truly on his way to becoming one of Australia's greatest boxers ever.

"He's still got so many great fights ahead of him but if we're talking about a great domestic matchup, Liam Paro versus George Kambosos here in Australia."
