Stephen Fulton weight issue

Post by Grant »

Any thoughts on Stephen not being able to make even 133lbs in Australia this week? for the second time he misses the weight, by lots. Not a good look for him

He said he tried to lose weight.. but he had no sweat left to give. Is he just trying to make weight in a division he just can’t?

Maybe he feels he won’t be as affective in a higher weight.

Lack of motivation and discipline. No need to look for more complicated answers. He was able to do 122 lbs for his whole career and suddenly cannot make 130 lbs last year and 133 lbs catchweight now and missed it by 6 lbs. That is a LOT. Inoue fight took something out of him. Respect to him for handling Figueroa in rematch, but he is done at top level.

he has mad far lower weights, and missed weight before, so its not a good look, but i will give him the slight olive branch of flying from usa to aus is brutal... you wanna go to bed at 4pm and wake up at 1am... pro weight cutting is a complicated science than involves strict timing, so mabey he just got everthing wrong.

Its still not good.

Gotta be fair when it comes to making weight.
A large percentage of boxers will box either significantly below or above what they should really weigh.
No money in Cruiserweights so where do you think they are going, Heavyweight, or back down to Light Heavyweight 175 which rarely if ever happens.
Try moving the average 135 pounder to 147, that's hard enough but the money is at Welterweight so they go up and compete outside of what their natural body weight is telling them.
Just how it is :maybe:
