Caroline Dubois Will Be Trained and Managed By Shane McGuigan
Caroline Dubois (20), widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in women’s boxing, has announced she will be trained and managed by Shane McGuigan as she looks to take the pro ranks by storm.
Shane McGuigan: “At just 20 years old, I firmly believe Caroline Dubois is already among the top female boxers in the UK. She was one of the most in-demand fighters to come out of the Olympics and I am delighted she’s chosen me to guide her pro career as both her coach and manager. We now look forward to her making a spectacular pro debut next month.”
Caroline will be managed by McGuigan in partnership with leading management agency, First Access Sports, and joins one of the strongest stables in boxing training out of McGuigan’s new East London gym, which already includes: Lawrence Okolie, Daniel Dubois, Anthony Fowler, Chris Billam-Smith, Robbie Davies Jr, Ellie Scotney and Hassan & Adam Azim.

One of 11 children, and younger sister of heavyweight Daniel Dubois, Caroline started boxing at the tender age of 9 out of renowned amateur gym, Repton Amateur Boxing Club. She has been Youth Olympic champion, World Youth champion and four-time European Youth champion.
Beginning her transition from undefeated junior champion into senior bouts, Dubois qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics at the 2020 European Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament. Here she took home the silver following her first loss to Kellie Harrington on a split-decision. Tokyo 2020 saw Caroline defeated by Thailand’s Sudoporn Seesondee in the quarter-finals. 9 years separated them by age and 1 point in defeat.
Dubois has already gained attention out of the ring for her exceptional achievements. She was named SportAid One-To-Watch in 2018 and named BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2019.

Caroline Dubois has parted ways with trainer Shane McGuigan before she bids to defend her WBC and WBO lightweight titles against Amelia Moore in Birmingham on August 29, live on Sky Sports.
McGuigan, who has established himself as one of the world's best boxing trainers, began working with Dubois in 2021.
Together, the pair have enjoyed some great success, with McGuigan guiding Dubois to victories over Maira Moneo, Bo Mi Re Shin, and the 25-year-old's title-unifying victory against Terri Harper in April.
In 2023, McGuigan backed Dubois to "capture all of the belts", adding "she is the best lightweight in the world".
"Even though the lightweight division is probably the most highly contested division in female boxing, she's blitzing everybody," he told Sky Sports.
McGuigan also said he expected the 25-year-old to become an undisputed champion across multiple weight classes.
"I genuinely believe she can do it at lightweight, super-lightweight and welterweight. She's still developing. She's getting much better all the time."
Dubois and Moore will fight at 135lbs over 10 two-minute rounds at the bp pulse LIVE Arena, with Mikaela Mayer and Chantelle Cameron set to headline the event, which is entirely composed of bouts between UK and USA female fighters.
But the English fighter is "frustrated" by having to defend her titles, rather than unify the belts. She had sought out a fight to challenge IBF lightweight champion Elif Nur Turhan, but was left disappointed when her team's proposals were pushed back.
"From what I hear and from what my promotions are telling me and my team is telling me, they made her [Turhan] an offer and she asked for such an astronomical, ridiculous amount. It was absurd. It was crazy," Dubois said.
"The amount she asked for, it wasn't even a laugh out of the room. It was just so ridiculous.
"She isn't about it. She thinks that she is something that she isn't and I'm really disappointed in her and how she's moving because it's all good to talk online. She asked for the most ridiculous number that, even if I told you, you would think I'm lying.
"So she just isn't about it. She's a joker and what you do with jokers, you just leave them alone. That's retirement money. That's never-fight-again type of money."
Dubois believes the fight with Turhan will happen eventually but is also eyeing up a meeting with WBA lightweight title holder Stephanie Han.
Earlier this year, the British fighter also called out Alycia Baumgardner, saying their much-anticipated bout "has to happen sooner rather than later".
"She's got no opponents," Dubois said. "She wanted the Katie Taylor fight, but that's not happening. She wanted the Amanda Serrano fight, but that's not happening, so who's she going to fight? Absolutely nobody.
"There's no one she can step into the ring with that's on my level. I say that with respect, but I know I'm her biggest challenger."

Dubois and McGuigan, one of the leading coaches in Britain, have been together since 2021. She turned professional the following year and has thus far amassed a 13-0-1 (5 KOs) record in which she has become one of the leading fighters in the female code while winning WBC and WBO titles at lightweight.
Most recently the 25-year-old Dubois, younger sister of heavyweight titlist Daniel Dubois, defeated Terri Harper on points in April.
Dubois, promoted by MVP, has made no secret of her frustration to land the biggest fights. She had hoped for a unification bout with IBF beltholder Elif Nur Turhan and had also called out Alycia Baumgardner.
McGuigan also trains Ellie Scotney.
"Caroline is a generational talent and I think she's just scratching the surface," Scotney told Sky Sports.
"It's one of those where she has to follow if there's something new that she wants to align.
"Nothing was going wrong for her to make that move. But sometimes you just have to make a change, and I think she's at that place."
The news comes on the same day that MVP and Matchroom Boxing announced a "strategic alliance to create more opportunities, bigger fights, and an even brighter future for the sport."
