Its a tough one morally - I'd be intrigued to know if he failed Brain scans etc or this is just a "performance" based decision.

Also it might have been done sooner as Liam has probably had several weeks of tough sparring for nothing.

Sounds fishy, the BBBoC aren't customs or the old bill, they can't stop planes.
Williams would have been reapplying for a license, he would have known in advance, and if he had problems he could have fought over there on a local licence.

This was in an earlier post from Ruthless-RKO:

Asked whether he would consult with the British Boxing Board of Control about the fight, Dr. Adamu added: “Every fighter has to come with a release letter, so before he even fights, he has to get a release letter from the BBBofC. So I believe that should answer that question.”

Not sure if that sheds any light on the matter or not.

Bob Smith sprinting down the runway, clutching his BBBoC lanyard - "stop that plane".

Wow after winning every second of every round, Antwi just got badly stopped in the 6th by Suleiman Jafaru, ref nigh on get him killed, 6th round out of nowhere Safuru wobbled him before putting him down heavily, should've been stopped Antwi was done but ref allowed it to carry and unsurprisingly Jafaru knocked him out moments later taking about 10 shots too many

Just watched a clip of the fight. The knock down was like that unexpected bolt of lightning, and Antwi was rocked bad and then dropped hard. Frankly, I was surprised he made it back to his feet, although he was in no condition to continue, and, Hands, you're spot on, the fight should have been stopped then and there.

Gotta give Jafaru credit. He came in with 14 KOs in 17 wins and was looking for that one big punch to turn the fight around. He found it.

It's a difficult position for Liam, as most professional sportspeople he has thrown all his eggs into one basket. Hopefully he has invested his later paydays.
