Just watched the fight back in full for the first time &
I’m quite surprised at how many seemed to suggest there was home cooking with the scorecards.

I had Simpson up 5 rounds to 4 going into the 10th & final round & the two closest rounds were the 4th & 5th which I gave to Williamson.

However it was definitely a case of someone losing the rounds but winning the battle. Simpson was out jabbing him & outworking him on the inside but Willianson was making him work & tiring him out.

Simpson was definitely buzzed & shattered at the end of round 9 as he goes back to the stool. I’ve seen a few suggest he just fell apart in round 10 but that’s not what I saw in round 9.

The big factors in the rematch will be if McCracken can get Simpson to win rounds whilst working at a slower pace & if having the lads at the EIS involved will make a difference rather than doing it all himself.

For Williamson he just needs to do what he did the first time round & force Simpson to work. He said it himself today that he doesn’t believe Simpson is healthy at the weight & that he wouldn’t want to face the version that fought Chelli.

I think you have to make Williamson the favourite but rounds 6 & 7 & the addition of McCracken give a blueprint on how Simpson can win the fight.
