MSG holds 20k, Wembley holds 90k. So the average ticket at MSG would need to be four and a half times more expensive than a Wembley ticket to raise the same revenue. Even given the astronomical price of things in NYC that seems unlikely.
The PPVs are 3x-4x the price of the UK ones so they only need 3x-4x less buys to match it if they were exclusively working on their own. I think they're counting on the UK to tune in regardless, which I don't think is as much of a given for casuals anymore for these two.

Does anybody know what Netflix are paying to show the fight and how much the gate receipts will be ? With rumours of stratospheric purses of around £75m for each fighter it’s hard to imagine enough money being clawed back to enable Turki to break even.
Which makes it just a very expensive vanity project.

Forgot about that. I have even mentioned it in my last posts. Can't see them getting any or many new subscribers from this. The sponsorship money must be big but can't see this being remotely profitable in that sense.mickey1975 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2026, 18:37It's not on ppv. Imagine Turki just pulled the plug in this.
Sack it. Not paying for this. Divas.
Tell Hearn and Frank and Brown to negotiate it.
Fight is barely over the line as it is and that’s with Turki involved.

‘Everybody else wants the fight in America’: Eddie Hearn talks difficulty in staging Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua in the UK
The long-awaited British heavyweight fight still hasn’t had its venue finalized.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn was just recently asked for an update for a proposed heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua, which still hasn’t officially had its venue announced. In recent months it’s been a big talking point about where the fight actually takes place, and while the UK would seem to be the obvious choice, it seems that others involved are more keen on bringing the fight Stateside.
So, when asked about where things currently stand, Hearn says the fight is being proposed for Madison Square Garden in New York City, despite his feeling that it’s better suited to take place in front of home fans.
“We signed for this fight in the UK,” Hearn said. “We are desperate to deliver this fight for UK fans. However, everybody else wants the fight in America — Turki Alalshikh, Netflix. I can’t speak on behalf of Tyson Fury, I don’t see him kicking up a fuss. Madison Square Garden. So, they’re telling us this is the place it’s going to do the biggest numbers, this is the place it’ll be the biggest fight.
“I disagree. But at the end we’ll fight and we’ll fight and we’ll fight to a point where they’ve breached the contract by doing it in America, or we come to an agreement. Now, these people are our partners and our friends as well. So, it’s very difficult because we wouldn’t have signed the agreement in its form if it was in America. So what we can’t do is just change it like that…We also want the fight to deliver for everybody.
“But as a Brit, as a British promoter, as someone who’s pushed for this fight for so long, I just feel it’s a shame to take it anywhere other than Britain…I don’t know if we’re going to win that race but we’re doing everything we can for British fight fans and I’m becoming very unpopular in that circle by doing so.”

And Huni, and Teremoana Teremoana, these guys are supposed to be the future of Matchroom. Maybe they are.

Yes, can imagine they will do a preview show/s / documentary also - and they will be thinking all that investment for it to be on when most of their biggest audience share are either in bed or working - no. They will want peak viewing.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑11 Aug 2026, 04:41It's about the time of the ring walk.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑10 Aug 2026, 16:04I never understand the maths of scenarios like this.dickbelden2 wrote: ↑09 Aug 2026, 12:39 it will do the biggest view #s & live gate in NYC ! I am sure they have done their market research on which country are more likely to 1) Watch the fight outside of peak viewing 2) Likely to watch repeats showing.

Frank~Warren shares true feelings on Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua taking place in the US
Frank~Warren has spoken out over the continued controversy surrounding where the long-awaited Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight will be held.
After being linked to a battle with one another for over a decade, former two-time world heavyweight champions Fury and Joshua will finally square off later this year, but the current biggest talking point is over the location for the bout.
Many fans have raised frustrations that it appears that the clash between the two British stars won’t be in the UK, with Madison Square Garden in New York believed to be the current frontrunner for where they will collide.
Queensberry Promotions chief Warren has been part of Fury fights in both the UK and the USA, and speaking to IFL TV, he sympathised with those unhappy that it may be in the USA, but admitted that the clash simply being on is the most important thing.
“I think it would be disappointing obviously for the British fans, but having said that, the fight is on. If it’s on in the UK, great, if it’s not, it means 90,000 fans that would see it won’t see it live in the UK, but the millions who will watch it on TV will still see it on TV.”

Dana White claimed that two major hurdles to a long-discussed fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have already been resolved: the venue agreement and the broadcast deal.
White stated that TKO Group, the parent company of Zuffa Boxing, had negotiated both arrangements.
Dana White: "I did the deal for the venue, that's why I know where the venue is. I did the deal."

Think it might be more wishful thinking than anything else ,, Huni good boxer but just does;nt seem to have the pop required , Teremoana well watched him tonight , he's now 12 -o definetly sems to be confident , seems to have a dig on him , and he;s a huge bloke , but at 12 nil and still more untested than moses
Then look at who this untested fella has in front of him , Moses , Dubai , Agit , and i;m not so sure he's gonna make it , sure he will probably be up there but i don't think Frank will be too worried. Some thing tells me Hearn may be struggling to sign the top guys , Can;t work out why he's bothering with Aust i can'nt see enough money or talent here for him to put the time and energy he's putting in ,
Look at his signing Zarafa he boxed tonight did'nt look great against his imported win , forget the guys inflated record , he was'nt very good , about the level of most Latvian taxi drivers , just can't work out why Hearn has bothered unless its to use him for future cannon fodder

Teremoana stops Savage, set for spot on Fury-Joshua undercard
Teremoana Teremoana produced the result he promised: another quick-fire knockout to stop DeAndre Savage in five minutes.
Tony Harrison accepted he only had a short training camp with his fighter, but the result was still an emphatic one as Teremoana employed patience before scything down Savage inside five minutes.
Much was said about the 28-year-old's need for a step-up in competition and during his first 10-rounder, he softened up an audacious American to head and body early before his fight-ending power showed itself.
Savage (11-2, 11 KOs) was biting on feints from the first few moments and had the wide-eyed look of a man regretful at what he'd signed up for, such was Teremoana's imposing presence and speed.
Andrew Moloney on commentary noted the 35-year-old's tendency to lean to his right and he hadn't landed anything in the opening frame, just circling before absorbing a leaping one-two combination in the final seconds.
"Everything will come together," said the 2024 Olympian's coach Gareth Williams between rounds and soon, the job was done.
An overhand right buckled Savage's legs, then he was countered with a straight right after advancing. Another two-punch combo left him wobbling, another shot sent him staggering to a knee and he stayed there, being counted out by referee Phil Austin.
Teremoana lamented the inability to get more rounds under his belt, but was nonetheless satisfied with a more measured display before hinting at returning on the Anthony Joshua-Tyson Fury undercard sometime in November.
"My first main event, I'm just very glad to have such an awesome man by my side in Eddie Hearn, who's going to take me all the way to the top. Everyone can see, I'm a lot more patient, the punches found their mark, I was hoping he was going to get up, that annoys me, but I'm looking forward to the challenges that come.
"What I've heard along the grapevine is I should be on the AJ-Fury undercard, the old heavyweights giving up their mantle so it'd be so good to get the new generation there, show them us Aussies have the thunder from down Under.
"It feels really good [to be on the undercard], great opportunity, this was just another step forward and this fight come November, another towards my goal of being world champion and then undisputed. What a blessing."
Matchroom chief Hearn echoed his sentiments, having been frustrated by domestic-level heavyweights rejecting offers to fight him previously.
"That's definitely the plan, we've got to step up the opposition and did that tonight, supposedly. Teremoana is too good, you see the fear on Savage's face, his eyes were popping out of his head and he didn't even land clean, we need to find someone who will get up.
"You've got to be a little bit patient, it's a build, we must face tougher opponents because he's got to do rounds but Australia has the best chance it ever has to have a heavyweight superstar, he can bring world heavyweight boxing here.
"The team are doing a great job, he punches so hard and as soon as he lands, the fight changes. If there's ever someone to crack the code in Australia and make it mainstream, it's this man."

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua | NETFLIX - Winter 2026 *new thread*
allegedly Provides Update On Fury vs Joshua: “If They Don’t Agree, It Won’t Happen”
allegedly has responded to Eddie Hearn’s recent threat about calling off the fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
The path has seemingly been cleared for these two to fight ever since both came through their most recent tune-up fights in late July.
Fury blew off the cobwebs for a second time following his year of retirement in 2025 by beating first Arslanbek Makmudov in April on points, then forcing Mariusz Wach to retire on his stool after seven rounds on July 28.
The night afterwards, Joshua boxed for the first time since being involved in a car accident in which he lost two friends. He was knocked down twice in round one by the unheralded Kristian Prenga but gathered himself and got an impressive KO win in the second round.
The main stumbling block seems to be the location. British fight fans want the showdown in the UK, and Eddie Hearn has said he and ‘AJ’ are pushing hard for that, but are under a huge amount of pressure from Turki Alalshikh and Netflix, who want to host it in the US to reach a wider global audience.
Speaking to allegedly, Fury’s promoter Warren remained confident the clash will still go ahead regardless.
“Tyson Fury has his agreement, which states something different. The fight will happen. I’ve heard what Eddie has said. They’re either going to agree to it or not. If they don’t agree to it then the fight won’t happen.
“Tyson signed for the fight back in January; the fight was supposed to happen in September. They were supposed to have a warm-up fight in September; unfortunately there was that terrible, tragic accident that ‘AJ’ was in where he lost two of his best friends, and that held everything up, but the fight I understand, will be November, and the venue will be announced in due course.”
Hearn has threatened to pull out of the contest if a venue announcement is made without their consent. Meanwhile, a number of people in the sport think Joshua could do with another warm-up fight to get in the best possible state for what is a hugely important fight at the end of both men’s careers.

The wider global audience is in European/African time zones over the East coast US time zones. Adding to that, the north and south Americans will be awake to watch the fight if it happens in London if they want it. Unless they're concerned of the lack of viewing figures for east and south Asia? Highly unlikely.

Hearn repeatedly said after AJ beat Jake Paul that America had loved AJ and the Netflix executives couldn’t wait to have him back. He was saying it very enthusiastically and seemed delighted that they’d finally cracked America. MSG can’t trigger him anymore than Wembley will due to his last performances at both.
I personally don’t want the fight to take place. AJ looks completely gone. It will prove nothing to anyone and just have millions of casuals screaming “he would have won if it was at the O2 the night he beat Charles Martin”.

He doesn't have nice memories at MSG...
AJ should fight in Vegas before he retires. just for the sake of it.
Wilder-AJ have to fight. Will be an interesting fight. however long it lasts because they're both in the 'vulnerable' category.

Fury and Warren getting an easy ride here, I personally don't care where it happens or even if it happens tbqh, I'd be watching it on my couch regardless but the masses are pretty unanimous in saying it should happen in the UK, even the Americans believe it's British stadium fight, Joshua and Eddie trying their hardest to make that happen but the passat driving reality tv star Fury who doesn't care about money or fame has gone awfy quiet
Can you imagine if this was AJ and Hearn pulling this stunt the Fury fans would be up in arms after all Eddie's all about the reddies
Radio silence from Fury just like the time they were in negotiations with Joshua years ago and he went awol until the day Fury announced himself the fight was on, coincidentally the exact same day the arbitration ruled in Wilder's favour, what's the chances eh? Still at least he took his mate Kinahan down

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua | NETFLIX - Winter 2026 *new thread*
I don’t get why AJ wants it here so much. Most of his fights have been abroad in recent years. I don’t think he’ll have the crowd advantage, either. I know I’ll get stick for this but the Fury fans will be out in force and prepared to dig deeper for tickets in my opinion. Most lads I know who loved AJ at his peak don’t even follow boxing now.
