Exactly one round: round 8. He let Itauma unload his power shots, then started countering in the final minute and hurt him. Hrgovic picked up where he left off in round 9 and forced the stoppage. Puzzle solved.

After a very poor undercard the main event was excellent. A real back and forth war. Itauma gassed and Filip is just so tough. And I’m sure everyone is glad there wasn’t any controversy. Moses had never been beyond 6 rounds and can come back. I enjoyed the fight a lot

He looked like he was tiring from like the 4th round after he emptied the tank and the commentators were saying nothing - absolutely hate the cowardly biased media element it just disgusts. I wish there was an option to not hear the commentary at all and just watch the fight
This is spot on for me.

From the end of the fourth it was clear there was a chance that things wouldn’t got to plan.

Itouma was starting to look a little tired, was missing a bit and Hrg hadn’t really blinked.

Not one mention of it commentary (or on really to be fair).

A rare case of FW getting the matchmaking wrong. From never going beyond 6 to stepping in against a world level operator with a renowned chin.

I couldn’t confidently predict what will haen to Moses now. I can see a redemption story and a revenge win over Hrg. But a defeat like that can also break a fighter and takeaway that confidence and air of invincibility.

Fell into Hrgovic's trap. Smart game plan. Use his durability to take him long.

Moses has been exposed imo. He's flashy for 3-4 rounds like Josh Kelly and others.

Failed the step up.
He's got a lot of natural talent still no doubt. Pacing yourself, and stamina are issues that can be improved. It's a tough loss for him, but it's not something that completely spells doom for his career or Championship hopes I don't think. Though obviously sets them back at least 2 or 3 years I'd think.
Oh for sure, in this dire heavyweight scene there's still room for him.

But a lot of us were skeptical how he would fair a step up given the limited amateur backround with no senior experience and the massive UK hyping being done.

He's sort of like a heavyweight David Lemieux with a few Lomachenko moves, who blasted through oldies and lower opponents.

He looked like he was tiring from like the 4th round after he emptied the tank and the commentators were saying nothing - absolutely hate the cowardly biased media element it just disgusts. I wish there was an option to not hear the commentary at all and just watch the fight

I think the rope-a-dope tactic will continue to be Itauma’s flaw if he refuses to pace himself.

Moses’ cardio wasn’t “very poor”, he just kept naively trying to force the stoppage.

Anyone that watched the Benn-Watson or Haye-Thompson bouts will surely appreciate Itauma’s youthful exuberance that resulted in his inability to pace himself.

That said, if Moses has to drop the pace to only 60% of his normal rate, to learn from his painful “gassing out” lesson, then he'll instantly be regarded by his peers as a much more beatable fighter.

Why does Davison get blamed every single time? I can’t think of another trainer in boxing who gets held responsible for every bad performance like he does. Meanwhile Andy Lee gets praised constantly despite not having a genuinely top-level win since Parker beat Zhang in March 2024 — and he actually got outsmarted by Billy f...ing Nelson.

He wasn't even hurt. Just mentally & physically gone.

Fair play to Hrgovic for having that chin & sticking to his game plan.
And it wasn't actually that good a performance from Hrg, he just wasn't as knackered.
A blunt but honest assessment.

I don't think anyone could look good against Moses. You just have to get through the early rounds - which is easier said than done.

I’m not gonna credit Foster. Cus even at the end, he still tried to give Moses all the time. He even separated them to the point of letting Moses find his feet again.

He was forced to stop it by the corner.

That last KD though, had the towel not come in, he wouldn’t have been able to beat the count imo

Closest I've seen to Heavyweights being that tired is the final round of the Shavers vs Roy "Tiger" Williams bout from back in the day. Those 2 are about as gassed as gassed gets at the end of that fight too, but even then I don't think one of them fainted.

Itauma was literally about to faint. Like whether Hrgovic would've hit him or not he was about to fall down, and not be able to get up.

Once he recognized how tired he was I think he began to panic and that made it even worse.

On the hrg opponent side of things… Hrg vs Usyk is actualy a pretty tastey fight. Hrg vs DDD 2 is very tasty. Hrg vs wardly is sickening but delicious should wardly win vs DDD. Hrg vs Moses 2 is actualy quite delightfull… (Hrg would wanna get paid but cause Moses dosent deserve it). Hrg vs Parker… fury would probably like a shot at hrg (he is kinda just a better mak).

I’ll be honest Sanchez vs Hrg does nothing for me. And I would spew all over myself if Sanchez became a world champion.

Exactly what I said just before the fight was stopped. That’s how Wardley was against Parker before that fight got stopped too.

AJ fell apart pretty quick in Ruiz 1.

Different reasons, but stamina and offensive confidence never was the same after that.

Davison gets blamed because he’s an idiot.

Itauma didn’t need to try & knock Hrgovic out every round.

Just keep doing enough to bank the rounds & if the KO comes it comes. He should’ve been in a position where Hrgovic was having to come forward & take risks to win the fight.

Stupid tactics tonight, stupid tactics against Dubois with Wardley, stupid tactics with Joshua against Dubois.

I don’t know what the jibe at Billy is about. Look what he did with Ricky Burns. If you give him Davison’s fighters I bet he would’ve done a better job
