Itauma will not become the best ever British heavyweight. Lennox Lewis and Tyson Fury would stomp him like elephants trampling marshmellows.

Truth be told, Hrg had Itauma looking vulnerable for much of their fight. Yes, Itauma was winning. But Hrg was fighting his fight, slipping shots, working the angles, and putting some hurt on Moses with occasional clubbing blows to the head an body. That's all it took to drain Itauma's pep.

Moses is just a front runner. I can't picture him ever surmounting his stamina and composure problems.

I betcha that Old Man Tyson Fury could knock out Itauma now. The young version of Anthony Joshua would've beaten him too.

If a hot prospect is managed correctly, he faces all the different styles on the way up. Orthodox, southpaw, slugger, spoiler, boxer puncher, defensive, counter puncher etc. Just as important as that is, he goes through the levels.Area, British, European, gatekeeper, fringe world level, carefully selected contender, world level. On the way up they should learn as much as they can to prepare them for the very top level. One of the things that must be checked/learned is how to do ten rounds. The worst possible time to find out if you're capable of going the distance or not is in your first fight at world level. They rushed Itauma, didn't give him the necessary amount of learning fights and it has backfired colossally.

I got laughed at on this forum when I commented about the Itauma-Franklin fight. After the first round, Itauma went back to the corner and said "the pace is too fast". That to me, meant he had stamina problems and last night I was proven right.

His career has been managed terribly and the corner work by Ben Davison and Lee Wylie was absolutely shameful last night. Where was round off? Where was the instruction to slow things down? Why didn't they tell him to box? Use the jab? Stop throwing bombs? Not only were they incompetent, but they got their guy stretchered out of the ring and rushed to hospital. Getting punched hard by a world level heavyweight while you're so tired you can barely stand up can cause permanent damage and the last night might well have done that.

When we look back on Heavyweights 2010-2030 time will be very kind on the Fury v Wilder trilogy, Fury v Usyk 1 will be the standout fight, Usyk's reign and AJ v Wlad.

Jimmy was an excellent poster and very knowledgeable but he did claim to have not gotten a heavyweight prediction wrong for 40 years or something like that. We all have them.
