Zak Chelli

Post by SeanBrennan »

Beat a two time world champion and is back teaching kids again soon. Some fella. Hope he gets chance to do it full time as his QTS won’t expire so he can always come back to it. His dad is ace too so positive.

I can see him fighting Ben Whittaker next.

He posted this on X yesterday.

"I was promised a big fight after that [David Morrell] knockout. ... If any other light heavyweight did what I did, like Joshua Buatsi or Willy Hutchinson or Anthony Yarde, they'd be promoted like crazy, but I wasn't. I was left under the rug. They promised me an interim world title either against Willy Hutchinson or Joshua Buatsi or a name big like that. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to fight Callum Smith because he's with a different promotion. But [Buatsi or Hutchinson] should have been possible. I was sold a dream. They didn't promote me. They tried to sweep me under the rug. They said, 'Within 6 months, you'll be fighting for an interim world title.' Yesterday in a meeting, I found out it's all been lies. There is no big fight for me. There never was. My contract is now void with them. I'm a free agent."

Was promised a fight after his last win.

Nothing since.

Shame.

Agreed! I don't like Zuffa but Zak deserves at the very least a good payday.

Whichever promoter can get him the money I hope he signs with them, and gets the payday he's earned.

That win over Morrell was one of my fave boxing moments of the last few years, he deserves something big off the back of it. Good luck to him.

I loathe Dana and Turki. Awful humans. And their plans to erode the Ali Act is reprehensible.

His dad's always on FB and the like. Seems a proper character.
Whittaker would be a nice earner for him.
